There's been a lot of news about upcoming guest stars recently so I thought we needed a thread to collect all the information together.

-4.01: Mayim Bialik is returning from the season 3 closer as Sheldon's potential love interest.

-4.02: Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is appearing as himself in the episode.

-Laurie Metcalf is returning as Sheldon's mother this season, probably in episode 4.03.

-Katee Sackhoff will be making another 'imaginary' appearance in an episode this season. Melissa Rauch will be back as Bernadette, Howard's former girlfriend, in the episode.

-Wil Wheaton is poised to return, according to Michael Ausiello. There's actually a whole plot worked out: http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/09/01/b...l-wheaton/ (spoilers).

IDEAS FOR A RELEASE TBBT "HOME" PARTY?? ;) / where to watch the 1st episode online?

Hi!

My roommate and I, based in hot Barcelona, have just decided to throw a BBT party 23 September to celebrate the coming back of the series with the 4th season XD

I'm a huge fan of the series and my roommate's catching up (she's a baby BBT, only on her 6th episode lol)

So far we've made this list for the party:

1- buy 2 of the same geek / Big Bang Theory shirts (roommate and myself) to wear them for the party

2- issue an official invitation to the party (my roommate will write one using some kind of code, she's an IT gal XD)

3- eat the same food as Thursday in the series. After consulting with The Schedule and several variations for Thursday, I have decided to go for the latest Thursday Menu: Giacomo's pizza with light olives, sausage and mushrooms <- Sheldon's pizza =))

4- have an online party maybe through skype and web cam (it's a nerd party!! it HAS to be online XD)

5- invite (online, of course) my previous roommate, who lives close to the North Pole, is a real IT geek and who loves the series

6- get him a shirt and have it shipped to him as a surprise (oops! shouldn't have posted this here, hope he doesn't see it! XD)

7- tomorrow: shirt meeting with my roommate XD. The agenda for the meeting will be to browse all BBT girl shirts online and decide which one to buy for the 2 of us. Has to be exactly the same one.

8- Star Wars soundtrack will be the music of our party (I have it on CD original =)

9- we'll watch some episodes of the series, of course

We don't have videogames, wiiiiiiiiis, nintendos, etc. We suck at 2D chess and it gives us a headache, so not even thinking about 3D chess. I don't have a speaking knowledge of Klingon and the only Star Trek thing I've seen is the last movie (motivated by the BBT lol).

For the party, we would VERY MUCH like to watch the new episode somewhere online (or from a freakin torrent lol but as fast as possible! We don't live in the US and don't want to wait till 5 am) - ANYBODY PLEASE: WHERE CAN WE WATCH THE EPISODE ONLINE THE SAME DAY AS FAST AS POSSIBLE? ANY HELP WELCOME!!

Any more ideas for the party? All proposals and comments welcome!! XD

And anybody who wants to connect online with our party, wherever you are: WELCOME TO JOIN OUR PARTY!

(This reminds me of the episode where the BBT guys are "connected" with a couple of guys in China who "play" with the lights in Leonard's and Sheldon's appartment XD)
He's such a prototype of a perfect nerdy guy, decent, smart, nice and good, a guy almost every woman would like to have (but some of them aren't aware of that yet ). Opinions from other fans of the show ?

About meeting with his manager, or something? You know, during that bowling episode? I mean, if she wants to be a movie star (or plan B: T.V. star), playing bowling with an actual star might be a perfect way to get contacts in the show business! Sure, Wheaton is kinda a jerk in the serie, but she could at least asked, and Wheaton wouldn't had much to lose in accepting to help her, right?

Ok, granted, Penny was in an emotionnal turmoil at that time, with the "L" word brought up by Leonard (no, the other "L" word, for those who saw the Scott Pilgrim movie! But that's another topic entirely! lol). Still, if Wheaton comes back in 2-3 episodes, Penny would get a golden opportunity to boost up her career, wouldn't she?

Does anyone else watch "Community"? Season 1 of this TV series is just about to finish off in Australia. I have only watched a few episodes, and the humour in this series are quite sharp. Two episodes which come to mind are the ones related to "Ghosting" (where students are not allow to sing the song by the Righteous Brothers), as well as the paint-ball episode.

It is quite well done - I am thinking about buying the Season 1 DVD which comes out later in September.

Just look at it! Both Howards and Leonards place always have an xbox very visible on the backround.
-to me that points to some relationship with Microsoft, especially as other brands are carefully, and painstakingly, removed from the show.

Also note how an ipod was thrown out the window in one episode!

And I just bet that if somebody more familiar with computer systems would look at it, she would certainly notice all laptows in the show as running on windows.

any thoughts?

you know the vanity cards in the end of every episode? you do? good!

Now, could it be possible to get the writers to advertise this site in one of the vanity cards???
-such advert would double the folks coming here every day!

Okay, a bit of a problem as to contacting the writers for the idea, but I'm sure if you asked kindly enough...

worth a try at least, eh? especially as the writers do know this site and know it it a good one.

This doesn't have anything to do with the show but I need it where most people can see it. I just wanted to ask if anybody has noticed any problems with the site? Mainly slower loading times recently or connections being dropped.

The site's host was quietly (silently) sold and the site was transferred to another server in a different data centre (again without notice). This happened mid-June and since then I have personally noticed more downtime and a general slowness. The lack of communication was bad enough but for the service to seemingly be worse is just unacceptable.

I want to get an idea of whether the slow pages problem is widespread. For me, it's not that the site is down or the page is delivered slowly (ie. header loading then waiting for content, etc.) but that there's a noticeable lag before anything at all happens.

Frankly, the fact I've written this post probably means my confidence in the host is too low for me to continue using them, but if I'm the only one experiencing trouble then maybe it's a different issue altogether.

Does anybody know anybody that is really like Sheldon?

Perhaps this has been asked before. I am not sure as I am new to these forums but I was curious does anybody know somebody else that is really like Sheldon?

I had a work colleague, who is also a friend of OH, and he does have elements of Sheldon in him. The work colleague is a physics graduate and is very intelligent, he also takes things literally in a Sheldon-esque way and also has his little obsessions.

The work colleague also has about the same level of social skills ad the same arrogance as Sheldon, and also has the same attitude towards relationships with members of the opposite sex.

You really don't think people like Sheldon exist but they do. Of course the character of Sheldon is taken to extremes for comedic effect but there really are truthful elements to it. I love watching BBT for that.

Hi!

Internet is full of forums and discussion sites of all possible and impossible topics.

So, how many of such forums do you attend regularly (at least once a week is considered regular here)

Also, how many memberships do you have on diverse forums???

Me, I attend only two sites regular. This one, and an xbox forum.
-I only can use net on work, so there is not time to browse that many forums...

As for memberships, I must have something like five. I know people who are members of hundreds of forums, which they never attend. I do not go that way: I only take a membership if I really mean to be part of the forum in regular basis.

Hello there!

What, to you, is the best crime series of all time on television???

With crime I mean both police/detective/military police series as well as those series that concentratre on the criminal life.

Add your comment!

To me Poirot is the very best crime series. Another I like is Sherlock holmes, but the bad thing about holmes is that many of it's episodes are badly directed baloney. whereas Poirot is constantly good quality.
-american crime? Sure, but I do not like the shaky hand held look of them. Gives me migraine!
