Also, I don't think Jim's sexual orientation is affecting or should affect his portrayal of Sheldon. It doesn't work that way. NPH is gay and he successfully plays the greatest womanizer in the world. It's called good acting.

im not saying it is effecting his acting, in fact i couldn't tell until that episode.

i actually don't look into their lives because i just don't have the time to. i just enjoy the show, but yeah it kind of...just kind of took me by surprise

Given that Jim's performance as Sheldon is pretty well-thought out and orchestrated (both in the writing and acting), I don't think that specific gesture was just a throwaway, unintentionally gay mannerism. It was Sheldon's way of showing a helpless, forced I-don't-care attitude (following his emotional disturbance due to the haircut failure). Hence the somewhat dramatized casualness, going with his dialogue about indifference towards his spot.

If it were due to bad acting (Jim's own mannerisms creeping into Sheldon), it would have come across that way much oftener.

Er, you found out about NPH recently, too? Oh honey, the buses don't go where you live, do they. Sorry, couldn't help that. :)

And hello. Now I'm confused about whether @Moonbase is male or female. :p

i don't really follow up on gossip magazines or anything, i just enjoy the show.

im a fan but don't go through their lives as it's my priority. i enjoy well written stories as well as learning things about the universe and how our world works.

im actually not a fan of NPH, but i do see that he is a good actor

i have too many things going on in my life so yeah

i understand the i-don't-care attitude, but the way he did showed the "gay" or rather feminine side..cuz i know many people who are in the "i don't care" mood don't do that...i mean yeah not many people picked it up...

but i picked it up cuz it was sorta odd to me

Well, I don't exactly have access to gossip magazines either, but news/rumors like these are so in-your-face. I mean, I go to one Jim interview or even TBBT clip on youtube, and more than half the comments below would be about his sexual preference. It's actually irritating, because it's the least interesting thing to be talking about, regarding him.

I actually picked up on his sexual orientation while watching through the series from Season 1 onwards. I don't know at exactly which point the light bulb went on in my head and went, "Hmm.. I wonder if he's gay," or what mannerisms made me think that, but reading about him proposing to his boyfriend confirmed it and it was an "Ah, so I guess I was right," and moved on. It obviously didn't change my view of him at all and I didn't even dwell on it for very long, just a tidbit you pick up along the way, kinda like when I found out Kaley and Johnny dated in real life for 2 years.

Are we actually seriously going through this again? Firsthand, NEVER trust THR, TMZ, Enquirer, Star or anything of the crap mags! They are garbage and only out to get people and get them riled up. The paps get bored and make up sh** all the time. There has never been an official announcement, proof or anything in reference to Jim's sexual orientation from the horses mouth directly and until then, its all speculation. I'm not trying defend or blow smoke up your ass either way but I could not care any less than the color pink in which I passionately hate with a thousand bolts of lightening. Who cares? A celebs private life doesn't define or justify them as a person, nor talent.

Seriously, I quite like Parsons, but I don't see anything particularly interesting about his persona - I watch his interviews from time to time and he comes across as a pretty boring guy and the most interesting titbit about his life is that he once had to suckle on the wolf's tit. In short, I am not that surprised that his sexual orientation is what people find interesting.

JIM PARSONS IS GAY? He so needs to call me!

You didn't know? :icon_cheesygrin:.....Well, people, I don't care if he's gay or not he is hot. Sorry for the rhyming...
I don't tend to believe the gossip magazines and he didn't say anything public, yet it is possible. Anyways, who really cares, cuz he's a great person!
Oh..and one more thing...who is NPH?

I quite like Jim, but he's not an especially interesting person. I watch his interviews from time to time and he comes across as pretty boring guy, whose most interesting life titbit is that he suckled on the tit of the wolf. So it's hardly surprising that people find his sexual orientation to be an interesting topic. Also, it may be because you only discover how effeminate he is once you see him in an interview. Sorry, but there's more testosterone in my 6 month nephew than in JP.

Todd is with him at all of the ceremonies, and he was with him last night at the basketball game. So either it is true or Jim and Todd and just really good friends and do everything together. I guess it is possible, but I think the chances of it being true is pretty good. I did notice however, in one of the ellen interviews, he was talking about the fact that he hasn't taken a photo of him with the ellen mug yet, and he said that he is alone in the mornings when he drinks his coffee. But he also said he gets up super early so it could be that todd is still asleep.

Yes, I noticed that too. But as you say, it could mean both things, it doesn't prove whether he's living alone or not.

Anyway, as far as his personal choices are concerned, I guess my last word is Bazinga, I don't care. :)

Having been a personal assistant to an actor recently I can tell you that I had to hang out with my guy EVERY single time he was out in public. Just something to think about. :)

Very possible that Todd is part of his professional team. The actor I worked for I had to be at his side like a guard dog and my guy doesn't have the caliber of Jim Parsons.

Yes but you wouldn't buy an apartment in New York and have "team member's" or PA's name on the deed as well, nor would you donate money to causes and list the name of the team member or PA also. I think it is pretty obvious they are in a relationship, they aren't trying to hide it. I just wish them a happy life.

You would if you were only living there part time so you're fans don't mob you. That you are allowed to fly back and forth without getting the media involved. Its a way to stay anonymous and private. Regardless, if they are together or not there is always another story or option til he tells us otherwise.
