Is Kaley Cuoco Beautiful?

I don't idolise actors, but most do and I agree it's pretty pathetic. Entertainment has been with us for millennia, Shakespeare, Greece, etc. I love Star Trek but William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy are just actors, the true genius was Gene Rodenberry and I admire him; he was a visionary.
Not idolise, at all? Not through their realisation of characters?

Rodenberry stood on the shoulders of titans, plus he had good writers. I see him more of a synthesist or conductor. Happy to be told otherwise.

And Ms Cuoco has excellent hair, however they style it.

You are getting on my last nerves with your holier-than-thou attitude!  Just because you may have a scientific or higher education doesn't mean you are better than me or anyone in the industry for that matter.  I can guarantee you, I will be happier, more active, more social and richer than you.  Living it up! And when I am old and rocking on my rocking chair and telling my story to my grandkids, their eyes will gleam and shine like no other with envy.

That is what you sound like to me about your 'contribution' to the earth!

Get a personality, stop being so cookie cutter boring!

If I were cookie cutter I would be worshipping at the feet of actors and actresses.

You think you have me pegged but you are absolutely wrong.  There are people with often less education that contribute more than me.  There is no greater calling than a man or a woman who is willing to put their life on the line for another person.  Some of their grandkids have to hear stories about the heroes they were from other family members.

The reality is that we are overwhelmed now with entertainment options.  TV could go away completely and we still have plenty of choices to fill the void.  It has dilluted the importance of the single entertainer more than ever.

I am not trying to be holier-than-thou or offensive, just matter-of-fact.  If an asteroid were heading to the planet and only a certain number of people could be saved to rebuild the world entertainers wouldn't make the cut.  In the absence of technology I wouldn't either for that matter.  My handyman that never finished high school would go before me.  I would be okay with that.

Have you pegged wrong?  Well, let's look at your comments:

Yep.   I would.  She could be making a difference in mankind and instead she is an ordinary entertainer.  If your only skill is acting go for it.  If it lies elsewhere that can help you are wasting your time.

Let's see, she's also a mother and she left academia to return to acting because acting allowed her to spend more time with her children.  Is wanting to spend more time with your children wasting your time?  Seem's like you think so.  Either that or you should have known the entire story before making such a comment.

A lot of people do things that make little to no money for the greater good.  They have my respect much before entertainers.

She provides a diversion.  I actually do work that helps industries.  I may make less but I am more important than she is.  She can have my autograph anytime she wants it.

Those people have my respect also, that doesn't mean I think I'm more important than others, or belittle others who make a choice based on their wanting to spend more time with their children.  As for autographs,  I'd rather have one from someone who doesn't think so much of their own self importance.

Its nice to see other people defend the craft a little.  It offends me that Ar Diem doesnt respect the craft, the very industry that pays my bills, allows me to explore and experience many things I wouldn't be able to if I didn't go for it.  The wonderful job that gives me a chance to live a more richer life that I have ever or could ever dream of.  It offends me when people dont understand how hard working these people and myself are.  So again thank you, Tensor. :)

And yet, I knew them without having dinner with her, duh. And how exactly does that give you a pass for belittling her choice before knowing her reasons for making that choice? Those type of comments have you projecting a shoot off your mouth first, ask questions later, holier than thou attitude.

I don't respect or disrespect it. I am meh about it. You perform a service I use. Thanks.

Also, does the craft really need defending? I mean it is worshipped much more than it is not. There are countless award shows praising this or that. Does everyone need to bow at is altar or can a few of us be allowed to have different opinions?

I would think someone in the spotlight would have thicker skin.

Most every job is important from the guy sweeping the floor in McDonalds to the rocket engineers at NASA. Entertainment is art and without art man becomes soul less. Now you can argue that maybe actors and sports players are over paid, but you can't say they don't provide a service to society.

Right.  You research actors and actresses, I don't.  When one of them expresses interest in my life I will express interest in theirs.  And I don't need a pass.  PhDs have kids and acting is a very demanding and time draining career.  While she is working her family members are also celebrities and people similiar to yourself will keep tabs on them as much as possible.

All of this over a comment about her wasting her time acting.  I'd hate to see the reaction if I really attacked her.  Seriously Francis, lighten up.

I agree with all of that.  It is just that now that we are bombarded with entertainment options the contribution of the single entertainer is less.

I would also add that we might respect that the floor sweeper is working but most of us probably see the guy and hope this is a transition job to something better.

ETA:  To be clear, if there were only 5 forms of entertainment and only 100 people per form of entertainment were capable of performing it, those 500 people would be some of the most important people in the world.

Right.  You research actors and actresses, I don't.

Actually, I don't research, I do read articles that happen to pop up.

When one of them expresses interest in my life I will express interest in theirs.  And I don't need a pass.

Of course you wouldn't think you need a pass. You have shown that belittling people, without knowing their situation, is perfectly fine for you. Probably goes along with you thinking yourself more important than they are.

PhDs have kids and acting is a very demanding and time draining career.

As has been mentioned before, it's so time draining that she chose it over academia to spend more time with her kids. But facts can be ignored when convenient, right?

While she is working her family members are also celebrities and people similiar to yourself will keep tabs on them as much as possible.

Actually, all I know is in the one article I read she said it allowed her to spend more time with her kids. I have no idea what any of her arrangements are, I only have her statement. If you have something that shows that statement of hers to be wrong, I'll be more than happy to retract my statement.

All of this over a comment about her wasting her time acting.  I'd hate to see the reaction if I really attacked her.

I pointed out that saying she was wasting her time acting when she chose that to spend more time with her kids was denigrating her as a mother who wanted to spend more time with her kids. Then pointed out that your claim of being more important than her wasn't a valid point when concerning her kids.

Seriously Francis, lighten up.

Lighten up? Who's the one that went into an entirely different thread to make a comment? Shouldn't you take your own advice and lighten up?

Dude, seriously, this has to be boring the crap out of anyone reading it at this point.  I don't care that you have a problem with some of my comments.  At this point you are the holier-than-thou person preaching to me about what a horrible person I am for making a couple of off-hand comments.   This all started with a post about why I would have picked Mayim over Kaley and my reasoning was that I could learn something interesting about her choice of acting over using her PhD.

Of course, I did make the mistake of saying that what I do for a living has a bigger contribution than entertaining.  But I am right.  It does simply for the fact that there are millions and millions of entertainers and probably a lot of people that could entertain but do not.

I seriously doubt you have made it through all your years without making assumptions based on limited knowledge.  I am still not sure I am wrong.  I have heard actors complain about the grueling schedule of making even a 22 minute sitcom each week.  During our imaginary dinner I would have pressed that to learn more.

Mayim is a stranger to me.  Ultimately I don't care if I am right or wrong because chances are we will never interact and it will never be an issue.  She certainly does not care about my opinions.   I have no idea why you feel the need to defend her honor.

I realize the last 2 paragraphs may be contradictory but keep in mind I called her a Wednesday girl which back in my dating years meant I had not lined up anything better for the weekend yet so I would have settled for a PhD actress over just an actress.

If that was all it was, I wouldn't have said a thing. But we both know that isn't what I objected to.

Of course, I did make the mistake of saying that what I do for a living has a bigger contribution than entertaining.  But I am right.  It does simply for the fact that there are millions and millions of entertainers and probably a lot of people that could entertain but do not.

And again, not what I objected to.

No, I have made assumptions. But I haven't (to my knowledge, it's possible I've forgotten it) made a value judgement of someone else's life decision, without trying to understand all the variables that went into that decision.

I am still not sure I am wrong.  I have heard actors complain about the grueling schedule of making even a 22 minute sitcom each week.  During our imaginary dinner I would have pressed that to learn more.

And if you would have quoted person A, working on show B, saying it was grueling and Person A left acting because it took too much time away from Person A's kids, I wouldn't have said a thing. But Person A, working on show B has nothing to do with whether or not Mayim Bialik, working on TBBT, finds it allows her to spend more time with her kids.

Mayim is a stranger to me.  Ultimately I don't care if I am right or wrong because chances are we will never interact and it will never be an issue.  She certainly does not care about my opinions.   I have no idea why you feel the need to defend her honor.

Because I objected to the original cheap shot about a mother's decision, without evidently, understanding the reasoning behind that decision.

Again, not what I objected to. Let's face it, you basically berated her for returning to acting and not doing more with her PhD. When her purpose in returning to acting was to spend more time with her kids. Fine, you may not have known about her decision. But why denigrate her decision without knowing why she made that decision?

Mayim really shows how bad actress KAley is.

I mean MAyim is very talented actress. She really goes the whole hog, not just delivering lines, but acting with her whole body. I mean just look how she behaves when Shamy are making the fun with flags. Very convincing acting.

Now see Kaley. She barely acts at all, just delivers her lines.

Casting agents watching the show, will mark down Mayim. Kaley they will not care about, because she is one of those dime a dozen actressess. Thousands like her come to LA every month, most ending as prostitutes...

I do not see much future for Kaley in acting business after this.

This is pure speculation, It's not like she has any giant red flags in her passt.......

How did we get from not respecting her choice to berating her?  Oh that's right.  You are a friggun drama queen who gets butthurt over an actress you don't even know.  How many buckets of tears have you cried over this issue?  I am done explaining myself to you because you may be too much of a fanboy to ever step back and see how silly you are.

Keep monitoring the boards for inappropriate opinions, officer.

She is asked to sell a normal mid-western girl who waits tables. We don't know what she is capable of because she is not asked to do much more than comedic timing which she does well.

I think when the show ends she will take 5 or 6 years where she does a movie here or there and then she will come back as a TV wife/mom.  She may never be successful again but it may not have anything to do with her acting ability.  Success is tough to capture.

to be honest though, she always plays the same character, in 8 simple rules, in charmed, now on TBBT. I also saw her part on Untouchable. She was terrible. But then again, is not a good sample to judge wether she is a great acrtress or not. The thing is, she doesn't seem to want to take the risk to try other roles, I don't know in theatre over the summer, or in movies, etc.

So, as far as I've seen her range is pretty limited and IMO she's not a very good actress, but that could change if she ever does something different. It's too early to judge, she's still young and has her whole carreer ahead.

I also don't think it's fair to compare her with Mayim, since she is much older and despite her years outside Hollywoood, she has a longer and more respected carrer. She has worked with Woody Allen, Bill Bixby, Larry David, Michael J Fox, Bette Midler, Garry Marshall, etc, real heavy weights in the comedy world. Mayim is a character actress, a totally different style of acting than Kaley's, so it's really not fair to compare them.

As much as Penny is believable she sells her and because she can play a role similiar to that for the rest of her life I don't know how talented she has to be.  The straight man/woman in a sitcom is a staple role in the industry.

The funny thing is it may be easier for her to find work again over someone like Parsons who may find it difficult to shed Sheldon.  This show will run for a few more years and the reruns will be on for another decade after the show ends.

We won't know for another 10 years, of course, but if I were a betting man, my money would be on your scenario. Kaley was asked in a puff piece article on the astonishing success of TBBT theory this season and her acting process for Penny in the "ILY" episode and as she indicated that it was the a time she got into the moment for a scene as Penny, Apparently this is rare for her. When she was asked about what she was doing in her career for projects, she only talked about her flash mob video on youtube.

She is not a very intense career "actor" which most likely means she will have problems making it into movies or be given a chance to make a transition to character parts when she gets to 40 years old.She is a very successful young TV actress but most of this is based on her astounding looks,

Still, love Penny :icon_wink:

Again, I don't know her range but she is believable (as much as possible) as Penny.  She is far and away better than Wil Wheaton in anything he has ever done.  If she took off most of her 30's she could play very believable roles as moms and/or wives in her 40's.  She could have a Nancy Travis-esque type of career.

She has talent.  I just do not know how much.

What about Kaley's posture!

I mean her back is bend like ) and her legs bend the other way like (.

End result of her bad posture is that she looks like letter S when wieved from side.

Not a sight you want to see on full stomach!!!

Note how much better postures everybody else has on the show.

Kaley is incredibly photogenic. Do her hair and makeup and get a good photographer and she is stunning. Just look at her magazine work in the last couple years. On the other hand taking a still out of any tape or film of anyone and you can easily say they aren't attractive. That is the nature of moving pictures. She is 5 years older than when the show began. Her look has matured. For myself, I think she is one of the most beautiful woman in the world.

Kaley has been continuously employed as an actor and model since she was 6 years old. Don't confuse Kaley with Penny. She has a very effective machine working for her. She is one of the highest paid actors on TV, has done movies, is constantly sought after to do host work, is on the cover of a number of good magazines each year, and in articles as well. I expect she turns away more work than she does.I think she is more talented as an actor than she is given credit for, but that is my opinion. As for Jim Parsons, hell he has done great work on the stage. He could move to New York and do one broadway play after another for the rest of his life. I expect he will do as much in hollywood as he wants. Don't look for either of these talented people fo fade away.
