  1. Wouldn't it be awesome if during the game Sheldon got a female scientist he had to guess(like Marie Curie)? Amy would say "You love this woman...She's a scientist" and Sheldon would reply "You!"

  2. This is just too awesome not to share here. So my friend does not have cable and I promised her the next lunch break we had together I would show her the prom episode. So today we were watching it on my tablet and a small crown started gathering. Then when Sheldon said " I love you, too" everyone gasped and started crying. Like four different woman who were casual fans of the show just mutually flipping out. That is my mission now to share Shamy love with all!

  3. I just have to put this out there. Since both Jim and Mayim posted nutcracker pics on IG now, and we pretty much know we're getting a Christmas episode, I think it would be amazing if Sheldon and Amy exchanged Christmas gifts this year.

  4. I'll put this here instead of the episode thread - because you all know how crazy I am and still like me. Who else was enjoying the GUN SHOW while Sheldon was going over his probabilities on the board with Leonard? Seriously, I have watched THAT scene the most. carry on

  6. There was one other solo car scene with them before, in Vacation Solution when Amy gave him permission to spend the day gaming instead of going with her to her aunt's bday party. This one was much, much better. Every scene Shamy was in together in this episode, I was thinking "they're playing that game knowing they love each other", "they're driving in the car knowing they love each other", etc.

  8. The closed-captioning/subtitles on iTunes has the line "Sheldon will move OUT eventually". And the bit about Sheldon spending the rest of his life with Leonard didn't bother me, as I took it to me grounded in the solid friendship they have--ie, Sheldon expects to have Leonard in his life forever, perhaps even to be best friends forever. I don't think he's wrong. Their affection for one another will not suddenly end once they cease being roommates.

  9. Hmmm...interesting. Anyone else notice that when Amy said "Don't worry, I'm sure he'll move out eventually (talking about Sheldon)" that Sheldon didn't even bat an eye. He didn't even react. Probably means nothing, just interesting.

  10. I want George Jr. to be really hot and buff, and Amy meets him and just side whispers to Sheldon, "You're way sexier"
    9 points
  11. I could totally see Sheldon getting Amy and getting her all this sexy stuff and she opens it and is like, "haha very funny whoever you are," and that's when Sheldon reveals that he's serious FM.

  13. I've had this strange fantasy of Sheldon's brother making an appearance, except that he's also portrayed by Jim. But of course he dresses and acts totally different from Sheldon. And of course he just walks around shirtless all the time showing off his beautifully defined muscles. I can dream.
    9 points
  14. I really don't care what the reason is as long as it keeps happening... Jim was basically my ideal body type from the beginning, but with the added muscle, he's just perfection. I absolutely know what you mean. I love that he's still our lovable lanky Texan.

  15. So modest--and SUCH A LIAR!!

  16. OMG yes. And his chest. Ugh. Jim, you're not helping me get my crush on you back to manageable levels, this season...
    9 points
  17. lol, yeah he's become quite buff, and I wonder if there is any particular reason behind it like him knowing Sheldon will have to take his shirt off this season... Ah, I wish...
    9 points
  18. Definitely agreed. That comment Sheldon makes did bother me little bit for half a second, but then I realized it was put in there for a joke, and when you combine it with Amy's comment about him moving out/on (do we know for sure what she says there? I've seen conflicting takes on it, and I haven't rewatched it yet) I think the writers are foreshadowing that he won't be living with/depending on Leonard forever. Obviously with him being in love with Amy and accepting/recognizing that, he will eventually be living with her. Even with all of his acceptance of change this season, he still likes to take things slow. So an ILY confession doesn't mean automatic move-in together, etc. Sheldon will get there. He's growing up before our eyes. I think once he gets more comfortable with the idea of intimacy, he'll get comfortable with the idea of letting Leonard go and moving forward toward his future with Amy.

  19. Saw this. Checked Jim's IG. Now practically drooling over his physique, again. Those arms. As for gifts, bonus points if he suggests it, since we all know how Sheldon feels about gift-giving. Although I would be equally happy if her gift is a romantic kiss under some mistletoe. <3

  21. Seriously, what the hell. We've been subjected to Wolowitz's scrawny chest, and the not so scrawny mid sections of Leonard and Raj (pre-Kunal getting buff). And Jim is clearly ripped now. Bring it on, show.

  22. And Jim said it's his t-shirts that make him look buff Oh Jim

  23. While I think that line was in there for a joke....I do expect the later half of the season to have Shamy get more into heavier topics...and their future, intimacy (addressed in prom but still out there) & living arrangements are still hanging out there....I don't expect tension to the degree of anything more than an episode BUT once these topics come up it may not be all sunshine & roses. No permanent damage, but these topics are hanging out there. I personally think the living together topic will come up (or more Lenny moving in together and the Sheldon factor) but actual changes won't occur until season 9. I don't think it will be Amy bringing it up though....I think it will be Lenny bringing up Sheldon living with Amy..... But this season we've seen that Shamy is hanging out more alone as a united couple. As is Lenny....So again, as this continues and Lenny seperates even more from Sheldon, he will begin to understand where things stand and where things are headed (just like the ILY....Sheldon is not a spontaneous person....he puts a LOT of thought into things and once he is comfortable with something, he then moves along). So once he realizes all this stuff...he will get it

  25. Those are two different things. Holding a door for someone who is behind you is courtesy. Opening a door for someone else (like to a car) when you yourself are not using it, or if you are using it after them, then it's chivalry. But it's also frequently looked down on as being men assuming that women are weaker, so to specify that she is a strong and independent woman who is totally capable of opening her own doors, but he does it for her anyway and she likes it, that's what makes the difference.

  26. But knowing Sheldon, he would have to try to tell her the complete history of mistletoe. That would be a good opportunity for Amy to shut him the hell up with our first Amy initiated passionate kiss.

  28. This was an hilarious laugh out loud episode for me. Really enjoying Season 8. I think it's because I'm now watching the show with my own mini studio audience - Mrs Destined is now completely hooked, and my two kids - I'm in an atmosphere of laughter and not bogged down in looking for Lenny love or Shamy growth ( that's for my 2nd to 10th viewings[emoji6]) Not every episode has to have iconic moments like last week to be excellent. Sometimes I'll settle for a simple tale of a man's love for his buddy. Loved and laughed out loud at- The whole cold opening - Tesla and Jay-Z, he's all mine, Kaley's smile laugh at the typo or real person line the bedroom scene - nice callback to the bedroom invasion days of early seasons. Jim does concerned Sheldon so well. The whiteboard scene was gold. Love it when Sheldon hits the whiteboard to analyse non science stuff like when they were trying to work out the best movie theatre to go to Hospital scene - sat in his spot next to Penny instead of with Amy - didn't even think just happened. "why didn't you stop me" and more proof of the love for Leonard ( with a side of living together forever debate foreshadowing) And Penny voicing that she is spending the rest of her life with Leonard ( and yet almost acknowledging Sheldon might too!) Shelnard on the couch all beat up channelling Felix and Oscar from the Odd Couple ( one for the oldies here) The urns the Raj coasters Howardette jousting Just one joke that worked after another for me all show. On the Howardette debate, I've been one to analyse that winds of change are coming for these two, not in a divorce/separation sense but serious discussion on where they are at. This episode definitely alluded to that and next episode also a bit to the Bernadette challenge ( don't think that counts as a spoiler does it?) Carol's tragic death and possible repercussions just adds to that BUT.... I thought their scenes in this episode were hilarious and very realistic as one of the married men on this forum. Best line of the night was Howard's " and here I am in the trap!" Who amongst us married men hasn't found themselves in that situation? These kinds of snarky conversations have been part and parcel of my 22 years of marriage with no ill effect. Bernie is copping a bit lately for being so nasty but its natural to bring up the woman doing all the housework and husband being oblivious to the problem ( cough! doesn't happen at my house cough![emoji16]) I think it's a good story arc to put Howardette in after them being just the other couple in the show for so long. It's why I connect to the show so much. Shamy are my incredibly awkward, clueless teenage years, Lenny is the romantic first and only relationship I had with the future Mrs Destined and Howardette is the reality of my married life - good and not so good. And it looks like Howard (the man child part of me ) and Bernadette ( the frustrated, unappreciated part of Mrs D) are moving headlong into one of those conversations and reflections we've had from time to time. But it's all good after 20+ years. And I'm sure the writers will make it even funnier than my experiences. So I'm not worried about the Howardette issue. I'm looking forward to it. It will be an interesting and funny alternative to the Shamy/Lenny which is all unicorns and fairy floss at the moment.

  29. It was actually Sheldon who brought up moving out, not Amy. "As soon as you start sneezing web, I'm moving out". Interesting. I know it's for a joke, but the Sheldon of earlier seasons would have said something like "as soon as...you're outta here", IMO.

  30. I'd kind of like to see a comparison of three moments: 1) His naked chest in Pancake Batter, when Penny rubs the Vap-O-Rub on him (and the one from S5, too, as a matter of fact) 2) His bare arms (and chest?) in last season's Geology Book scene (which ep was that?) 3) His bare chest and arms NOW

  31. Leonard is in a way Sheldon's father figure....Sheldon is surrounded by strong females, but on the male front all he has is Leonard. Yes we know he has an older brother, but I gather not close and very different. Yes, he has gotten closer to Raj & Howard, but not to the same degree as Leonard. And Leonard fully knows how to work Sheldon. In fact we all credit a lot of the growth from the Amy relationship, but in actuality, Leonard has been a driving force in getting Sheldon to grow up. We saw with Proton's death how its clear Sheldon is missing that key factor of a male role model in his life. Leonard has stepped into that role from day one, teaching him social cues, getting him to understand things, etc. So one can fully understand how scary it is for Sheldon to fear loosing Leonard in his life. Just like a child is scared leaving the nest. 4A and Leonard are Sheldon's nest.... Now, granted we've seen over the past few seasons that Leonard is ready to let go...he is ready to get his "grown" child up and out and on their own. Its a very interesting dynamic. And as one of the main 3 big original plots on the show (Lenny's relationship, Leonard/Sheldon's friendship, and 4 guys growing up and adjusting in the world), it stands to be an important part of how this "story" will end up.

  32. Some excellent Shamy-ness in this epi. Sort of got the feeling Sheldon was messing with Amy in the Tesla guessing game...the third time he answered, it was like he was trying not to laugh. Not sure if this was intentional on Jim's part or not...but very cute either way. The car scene was great fun (other than the incongruity of the sticky syrup issue I mentioned in the epi thread), definite growth on Sheldon's part that he could see Amy was trying to hide something. (though clearly he still has his juvenile, clueless, insensitive moments...like stubbed toe drama and the grocery store! ;-) But the banter in the waiting room about the revolving door and the goiter/grapefruit was both funny and cute! (OK that is a weird sentence ;-) I like that the Shamy just had some low-key, everyday type togetherness after the mega-events of last week.

  33. I also love the cold open when they were playing game together, they seemed so happy. I assume it was not a date night, they just spent time together in his apartment.

  34. Leonard's nose was just a vehicle to shine focus on Sheldon's attachment to him. That was what the episode was about.

  35. Gahhh the car scene was so adorable. Mayim was hilarious, and I absolutely love how Sheldon seems to be maturing more and more (in past seasons he would have thrown a tantrum then and there instead of calmly asking to be taken to Leonard). The change in the character is becoming more pronounced in each episode, but so gradually...Jim never ceases to amaze me with his brilliance at that sort of thing.

  36. It would! I can already hear Bernie's voice "Oh just pick a gift, you big baby!"

  38. I always thought that if Jim did happen to portray his own brother (except with much different hair and possibly facial hair and different clothes) it would be funny if Amy tells the girls, "I'm surprised they come from the same family because Sheldon is wayyy better looking." His brother be ugly.

  39. While you have no idea how badly I want that, it might be hard to explain why Sheldon is suddenly so buff. I mean, we've all seen the basketball episode... This. But I do think it would be absolutely hilarious for Penny to come over for something and happen across ripped shirtless Sheldon and doing that superb wide-eyed jaw-dropped expression Kaley excels at.

  42. actually in my review I did say I really enjoyed the married-couple style banter with Shamy, and yes, they feel really connected. Personally I usually save all my intense Shamy observations for the Shamy threads, but they are 100% a couple, on the same page, and post-ILYs things are great. I also felt a little more maturity from both of them too (still silly fun, but a slight difference). They are in a good place right now.

  43. Another thing great about this episode: they finally acknowlege that most of Sheldon's traits are based on Nikoli Tesla. They had Sheldon mention before that Tesla was one of Sheldon's heroes but this time there was an implied equalvalency with Amy stating that Tesla was a "poor man's Sheldon Cooper". The creators and writers of the show seemed to have designed Sheldon after reading a Tesla bio.

  44. I keep thinking that too, hahaha. I was paying close attention to the way they looked at each other, thinking in my head, "That's a look of love, right? It must be because they love each other!!" I love it when Shamy spend time together, and they must do it all the time, if they scored an 8.2 - not a score a couple would get that don't spend A LOT of time together. Before, Sheldon was "I'll just subtract the time from our quota" or something along the lines, and now he doesn't care. Now he'll see her any day, and any time of the week. I believe the car scene was in the morning if Amy was driving him to work. So cute. Also I love it when Sheldon was like "You're acting odd..." like he knows Amy so well, he knows when she is hiding something from him. He knows how she acts when she's acting odd!

  45. Wow Sheldon knew Amy was hiding something, that's big coming from Sheldon and I adored the solo car scene from them

  47. Or the Mistletoe is hung up somewhere, and Amy becomes all sneaky, "accidentally" pushing Sheldon towards it LOL And he's like "Aaaamy... don't think I don't know what you're doing." But suddenly he's beneath the Mistletoe and Amy says "It's the tradition, Sheldon." So he rolls his eyes and kisses her, a little too long, and this keeps happening throughout the night.

  48. Good episode with some exceptional zingers. Sheldon's reply to Leonard's dismissal of asteroid strikes being a danger, "Tell that to some cocky T-Rex swirling around in your gas tank" is one of the smartest lines I can remember in the entirety of the show. The A plot premise, though is one of the biggest continuity errors they have ever had. This is from 3.14, "The Einstein Approximation", when Sheldon had snuck into Penny's room while L/P were sleeping: Sheldon: You’re welcome. Good night to you, too. Oh, by the way, I was watching you sleep for a moment, and I noticed that your snoring seems to be worse when you’re on your back. Penny: Leonard doesn’t snore. Sheldon: No, I wasn’t talking to Leonard. Leonard: Told you. And this is from 5.10 "The Flaming Spittoon Acquisition", during the game of twister: Bernadette: Looks like it’s just us playing. (Penny snores) Penny? (Penny snores louder) Penny, we’re out of wine! Penny (waking, bleary): You should probably drive. That Leonard would have a loud snoring problem that neither Sheldon or Penny would have commented on after all these years is a bridge too far. Sheldon has stated several times about what a good, low maintenance roommate Leonard is. He most definitely would not have quietly put up with snoring for such a long time. Oh well, anything for a laugh.

  49. I would like the idea that they write in Mrs. Wolowitz's death into the show and at her funeral, Howard's dad shows up to everyone's shock. I'd want it all to be a very sincere moment and not devolve into a huge argument that he left Howard and his mom. Its all very hard to say how it's all going to go down but I have to have faith they will Carol Ann Susi justice with a nice tribute if they choose to go that route. Who knows, maybe we will finally learn what really happened to him and who was tell the truth about the letter.
    5 points
  50. agreed!! That was very telling of where his "head" is right now..... The signs in this episode, coupled with Molaro's interview this week, kinda re-establishes all our thoughts that Sheldon's mind is heading towards a physical relationship with her....again, not rushing things, but slowly he is moving in that direction. Even the look he makes when she says "I'm always hoping" shows he gets it, and he didn't shake his head no, or make a snide comment or even roll his eyes....instead he nods and licks his lips. He knows that it is definetly going to happen eventually now.
