  1. Hi Dannii! My Mom and I will be there Wednesday! She is in a wheelchair so I had to get Guaranteed tickets, which I finally did! I'm so excited! Not only do I love TBBT but my 87 year old Mom does too! She always has to watch one just before she goes to bed (she lives with me) so she doesn't have nightmares! [emoji1]

  4. It looks like most of the cast is currently scheduled to appear at the 23rd Annual "Night at Sardi's" fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association on Wednesday, March 18th. The Big Bang Theory Cast has been very supportive of this cause for several years. http://www.alz.org/sardis/downloads/2015-Sardis-invitation.pdf

  7. So Raj had that ONE time where he forgot. It happens. Anyways, I'm surprised this episode didn't get any comments yesterday. This episode was easily the show's best Valentines Day episode (Sorry Shamy fans, S7's was fine for their relationship, but the rest of that episode was weak IMO). It's also one of season 6's strongest episodes. All the characters had a moment where their romance issues shined. Some of them even had some great development for them. Okay Raj's was slightly undone with his "later losers", but he got some karma in the next episode; where he felt the same way those same people in the comic book store probably did. Sheldon shined by making Amy his emergency contact. Amy shined by giving Sheldon an evening that he would enjoy, as opposed to something more traditionally romantic. Howardette shined by realizing that sometimes the arguments that you and your significant other get into on extreme levels can really be quite petty compared to what SOME couples are going through. I also loved Melissa Rauch's delivery with "OH BITE ME!" the first time. Of course this is probably the part where my bias is going to shine through, I loved the development with Leonard-Penny's romance. -The 43 Peculiarity had Leonard obviously at an insecure mindset where it took Penny saying something to calm him in the heat of the moment (The L Bomb) to take some of the weight off his shoulders. This episode is where the roles are reversed. With the only difference being Leonard being aware of what he's saying in the moment. Though it doesn't take away from either episode. -First off I absolutely agree Penny was acting like a bitch in this episode. The only reason that I find it tolerable is 1.) She admitted to her issues. 2.) I understood the context of what brought these issues to the forefront. I agree with previous posters that she didn't want her old bf back. IMO she reacted harshly because him proposing to her old friend brought to question, "Did he cheat on me, because he saw a willingness to commit in Gretchen that he didn't see in me?" It's something that's been haunting Penny as far back as her family. Given her family's track records with marriage and how they handled commitment (her sister SHOT her husband, her brother is in prison, and her mother gave birth to her out of wedlock), it's kind of a given that moving into a permanent state in a serious relationship freaks her out. Not to mention how many times she was cheated on by other men in her life. Given how Leonard didn't ask her to explain further on her commitment issues, it seems implied that he knows about her history with commitment at this point. Or at least enough of it. -I also liked the sense of fear in Kaley's voice, when she says, "What do you mean, are you breaking up with me?" It showed she doesn't want to be without Leonard at this point in her life. -I also liked how Leonard was affirmative with her in this episode. Up until this season, most of the time he was walking on egg shells when ever he dealt with her on serious issues. Not here, he firmly expressed his annoyance at being disrespected at dinner, "This one does and your the reason why." -I also liked when they got to the apartment, he was about to walk into his apartment, but stopped himself. After Penny walks into her apartment, he puts his foot down and aggressively walks to the door. This communicated with subtlety how determined he was in that he wasn't going to just sweep THIS under the rug like they've done in the past. He was going to talk to her about THIS. This is the man that Penny wants to see Leonard be, and he's well on the road to being this man at this point. -I liked that he gave her the keys to "ignite the engagement" so to speak. I also loved his self deprecating humor in poking fun at himself with the gender reversed roles. "But I gotta tell ya, when the time comes I want the whole nine yards. I want you down on one knee, flowers; I want to be swept off my feet." Leonard's a master at this. Some people think Raj and Stuart are better at this, but I disagree. When Leonard does it, he does it with an air of confidence in his voice. When they do it, they have no confidence in how things are going for them in life. -Penny looked GORGEOUS in her red dress, I miss the long hair. -Also liked how Penny called Leonard's romance ninja bit lame at the beginning of the episode. But on Valentines Day it makes her chuckle when Leonard brings it up. Obviously it sounds lame, but not so lame when it's coming from the man she loves. Little quirky touches like that that are exclusive to these two REALLY add to their relationship IMO. It's the kind of quirky characterization that's been sadly absent for most of season 8 (with a few exceptions like "Best Fiance Ever") -Leonard: "Okay two can play at this game. (gets out of his chair and down on one knee to propose) Penny?" Penny: "Get up." Leonard: "Okay." (gets back up and sits in his chair) Anyways fantastic episode not only for the Lenny ship but for the rest of the relationships as well.

  9. Off topic, I saw an article about why mothers need to talk to their teenage daughters about the movie/book 50 Shades of Grey. One thing the author said mothers need to tell daughters is that relationships aren't based on a contract. Well, lady, if you have a problem basing a relationship on a contract, I'd like to tell you about 13 plucky colonies who entered a contract and I think that love affair is still pretty hot today.

  10. SHAMIES, it is to show to the world that shenny never existed, doesn´t exists and will never exist! IMO, it is the point! don´t forget: in Colonization we´ll have a big and hot Lenny love scene, and two lovely and tender SHAMY scenes! (according with TR, Danni and Dana!)

  11. Because of the ridiculous shenny nonsense! I will be avoiding those scenes as I have no desire to see them

  12. Dear SHAMIES: In the episode some of you call "shenny", Sheldon says to Amy" I PROCLAIMED MY LOVE FOR YOU" Why are you upset? (S/P interaction IS A GAME!. Period)

  16. . While I agree with most of your post, two things about this. First, Sheldon almost ruined it himself. He was the expedition's leader. It was his job to keep everything running smoothly. He didn't, as it was his immature reaction to not finding what he wanted found that led to the others actions. Also, while Leonard, Raj, and Howard did give him false data, they still had all the original data. Sheldon is the one who went outside normal channels and procedures to make the announcement without going through and checking the data before publishing. That part is all on Sheldon. Look, none of the characters are angels. Picking on Sheldon alone for being a jerk is silly, as there are multiple instances of all of them being dickensians at various times. Whoever which characters one dislikes, instances of that character being a jerk can easily be found. But every character also has instances of being kind and generous. Which instances you use are going to depend on which actions, and the interpretations of those actions, support your view of a character.

  21. I saw the "Shenny" episode at the Colonization taping and it was not that bad all. It seemed like Sheldon showed a different side of himself in the episode which I why I liked it. Of course Penny and Sheldon are going to have a strong friendship, they have known each other for years, but there is nothing romantic about them at all.

  22. Naw. I just need SHAMY in the next taping report, but, I don't think we'll get any. . I can't even explain how much I need this couple.
    1 point
  23. What upsets me the most about the Shenny episode is that Sheldon proclaims to love Amy, and Penny Leonard. Therefore, the results of 30 minutes of barf inducing torture TPTB are calling a "test" are already tainted and moot. I don't think it's possible for Sheldon to experience romantic love feelings for anybody but Amy. It's a waste of an episode imo.

  26. I always remembered Mike's blog where he listed all the places they did it. Also Leonard trying to support him and Penny being wild by talking about how the did it in the ocean. It would be funny if an episode had them hinting at doing it different places, sort of like how they did it in the lab. I can just picture Penny taking him clothes shopping and he comes out of the dressing room looking really handsome, so when he goes back in to change she follows him in.

  29. Great show. It was almost a slowly developing Brady Bunch but much better. Mike, Robbie, Chip, then later Ernie and then even later the obligatory second wife Barbara and her daughter Dodie. Throw in Uncle Charlie and that the way we became the Douglas Bunch. We all say no kids in Big Bang but this show had weddings and then kids of kids everywhere. And great theme music and the switching crossed legs dance from the intro I still do!

  33. It's possible, yet it seems to me dropping guest actors into the show is like dropping stones into a fast moving river, most of the time. There is a splash, then not even ripples. Unless there is some hook in the story that needs them specifically I think they just disappear. Raj can meet other girls if Emily doesn't pan out. I'd be surprised if it was the vet. But I do like the idea of Emily and Yvette meeting. And something COINCIDENTALLY unfortunate happening to Yvette. All eyes on Emily then. Mwahaha.

  35. "Penny" "Yes" "Will you be my Valentine?" "NO... you Dork can't you see I am engaged to the most wonderful man in the world. Leonard Hofstadter." Oh well.
    1 point
  36. Coming late to the discussion but for Raj, I really liked Yvette the Vet. I'm sorry she was only in one show. Don't like Emily and I think her reason for not liking Penny, having a one night drunken episode with Raj is really pretty stupid. Everyone has a past and Raj, Penny, and her SO have clearly moved past the event so why she should hook her dislike into something that is now meaningless is beyond me. But Yvette the Vet had a real grudge with Leonard and Penny. They were joking in relief that Cinnamon was OK but Yvette took their laughing relief as disregard for Cinnamon's welfare. She held them both in some contempt. Yvette spoke her mind and it would have been some spicy good times around the coffee - dinner table as Leonard and Penny would (hopefully) try to improve the opinion she had of them for Raj"s/the group's harmony sake. Think that could have been a lot more fun than anything we've been given so far with Emily.

  39. Almost sure it is Casa Wolowitz. Staircase and old style furnishings clear. Looks like might be a "What do we do with the house and Stuart" storyline. Will Howard and Bernadette discuss need for bigger house for future baby plans? Will they have to contest a will that suddenly includes Stuart and house arrangements? Just speculation.

  41. Actually the dog is not blind in the eye. If you read the bio on the owners page they thought it was blind in the eye and it had a condition that makes it's head lean to the side, etc. But the blindness thing went away after months of caring for the little gal. It was a very heartwarming story actually. A good read.

  45. Yes! Great example! Spoiler Alert was another great moment where we see Sheldon be much more grown up and mature than Amy about the implications of living together. I kind of hope that when the topic does come up again they will touch upon how Sheldon does see cohabitation with her as something he is ready for 100% as a partner in a romantic relationship rather than the roommate arrangement Amy has in mind. Another example is with sex, really. I think Amy still has very much of that teenage girl who sees all her girlfriends have sex and wants to have that experience too and isn't quite aware of the implications and what it might entail. While we can argue that Sheldon focuses too much on the negatives of sex that make him be all overwhelmed and hung up about it, Amy focuses too much on the positives and not enough on reality. They both have to reach a level of realism when it comes to intimacy in order to take that step, but Sheldon I would say is more conscientious that it's not something to get into unless they're 100% ready and won't mess up and regret it.
    1 point
  46. Koops, totally agree with you on this, especially the living situation. Sheldon is steps ahead of Amy on this. He knows that living together means intimacy, she thinks it's all fun and games and it will be ok with her living in Leonard's old room. Amy views herself as Leonard 2.0 and maybe her being there all the time will lead to greater intimacy down the road. Sheldon knows that Amy moving in is not the same as Leonard living there, he has feelings for her it's a totally different dynamic and he can't handle her living there until he's resolved his intimacy issues first.

  47. You are definitely not the only one. After the first take of the cold open, I was kind of casually looking around the audience to see if anyone else realized how sweet and amazing it was to see them hold hands. I need a picture of them holding hands in my life. And the hug, oh man the hug. I don't think I can describe what it meant to me to see that hug happen live right in front of me. I mean a genuine real long mutual hug between the two of them. I have wanted this for so long. It's going to be a long wait to see this episode again. Doesn't it always seem like good Shamy episodes tend to have a longer period between taping date and air date? It's a writer's conspiracy I tell ya.
    1 point
  48. I don't know that I'd say Amy is always the more mature one. It's actually a point I disagree about with most. I think they are both more mature than the other about different aspects of their relationship. Sheldon has shown more maturity than Amy on a number of occasions, really (D&D talk being an example) and I think the fact that he doesn't get as affected by what others do around him and social norms help him recognize what's ridiculous in societal demands or expectations on couples. But in recognizing what is expected of a partner's role in a relationship, I do agree Amy is generally a step ahead of him. And it shows here again. Sheldon generally always thinks he can have his cake and eat it (like he often does when he says he's going to be living with Leonard forever even though that's obviously impossible and so on) and I think the idea that he can move to Mars and keep the relationship going is one of those moments. He wasn't making plans to leave Amy, he genuinely thought he could do both! But, like in Vortex, once the issue is pointed out to him, he considers it and realizes the problem and compromises. Which is incredibly mature for him. I'm really happy with this, and I totally agree with you guys that it was about time we saw a genuine display of physical affection between them that wasn't awkward or played for laugh or to make a point.
