  1. That's such a sweet and innocent moment. The way he said "You looked pretty" reminded me of how schoolboys approach girls they have crushes on. Not necessarily the use of the word "pretty," but his inflection. He sounded almost sheepish. And that is what is so loveable about this growth from him. He never had that typical experience in middle school or high school of meeting a girl, thinking she's pretty, and courting her (or at least wanting to) like his buddies did. Finally, Amy has awakened those feelings in him and he's going through it now as a grown man. There's something so incredibly sweet and charming about watching a grown man (especially the usually-difficult and socially awkward Dr. Cooper) have such a new experience and go through the emotions that we all first experienced much earlier. Jim is over six feet tall, but the way he represented those emotions, you could tell Sheldon felt so small in that moment, that he knew this was such unchartered territory and that he was terrified of everything, but even more terrified of the possible ramifications not acknowledging the truth. I have to admit, just reading the words from the TR, I had such a difficult time imagining some of the dialog playing out in a satisfying way, but shame on me for ever doubting Jim and Mayim. Never again. It wasn't just in the speech, but the subtle facial movements (Jim's lip bite and eye aversion KILLS me) and gestures. I knowMayim has said she doesn't act movements, she acts emotions. Well, she absolutely hit it out of the park on this one, and I can't wait for her blog entry about this episode. *sigh* All the feels.
  2. Stop talking to them. You don't need that type of negativity in your life.
  3. I could hear Jim talk about anything all day. The man is fascinating. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  7. So cool! I loved Jim and Kaley's little impromptu musical moment at the beginning. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. I'm dense. What's the significance of the blanket? I see the one in the "world without Sheldon" pic is drab and blah...is that it? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  11. I'm so sad that there are still 2 more weeks until the next episode. I've dealt with breaks before, but this is right on up there with the mid-season break after the Shules kiss on Psych in season 5. TORTURE Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. I think frustration is coming not only from recent developments, but also from being burned in the past. I admit, I haven't been a passionate Shamy shipper until recently (loved them, yes, but not to the point of repeatedly watching videos and so I do not fully know the frustration that has been expressed here...but I can understand the arguments for it. I get how hard it can be to see seeds planted and nothing bloom of them. I guess I just never had my expectations very high to begin with which keeps me from getting frustrated. Not that I think those with high expectations are wrong; I'm just not one of them. I've just been along for the ride, so any little thing is a success to me. I don't read Molaro's interview as a negative, rather a very cautious assessment made right after the taping. He had no way of knowing exactly how it would be received, so it was probably best in his mind to speak the way he did; that way he would align more with public opinion if the majority reaction was to criticize them for changing Sheldon too much...but if that's his approach, i agree with others- he probably should refrain from saying anything. I don't worry much about statements regarding keeping Sheldon "Sheldon-like." It's something writers have to worry about all the time, and I can imagine the task of growing a character as unique as Sheldon is a daunting one. You want him to grow, but you have to keep his essence. I think the PP episode will contribute greatly. While reports seem to point more to him immediately valuing Leonard, I do truly think something is coming for him and Amy as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. I've seen the "fear" of Sheldon changing, mainly on another forum that tends to be very negative. The sentimetnt is basically that they don't like Sheldon being "normalized" and take exception to his taking to attachment as being growth (for example, Why does somone have to be in a romantic pairing to be considered "developed?") While I see the basic logic in that view, I see it as very short-sighted. Could the series have been okay without Amy fot sheldon to get attached to? Sure. But a romantic pairing is the most visibly manifested form of development for someone like Sheldon who was once so against everything that romantic relationships tend to require- empathy, physical conact, compromise. There is only so far someone like Sheldon could have developed as a character with only his platonic relationships in place. There truly are people who would have preferred Sheldon not change at all, which you're just not going to get on a sitcom.
  14. Jim hosting SNL is so cool! I haven't watched in years, but I will definitely watch March 1st. I bet they do some TBBT spoofing.
  15. Oh, my gosh! This is brilliant. Ok...from now on, that's how I'm thinking of that statement. I don't care if the writers meant it that way. It's beautiful and I'm sticking with it.
  16. How about "My Life Would Suck Without You?" Part of the lyrics imply a break-up, but I think the overall sentiment fits Shamy pretty well, especially the bolded.. I thought of this song after watching an interview with Jim and Mayim when he said that Sheldon might not know why exactly he's with Amy, but that he knows things are better with her than without her. I can also see a great Shamy video being made to this song. I wish I had the resources and the talent because what I'm seeing in my head is pretty awesome. I guess this means you're sorry You're standing at my door Guess this means you take back all you said before Like how much you wanted anyone but me Said you'd never come back but here you are again 'Cause we belong together now Forever united here somehow You've got a piece of me And honestly, my life would suck without you Maybe I was stupid for telling you goodbye Maybe I was wrong for trying to pick a fight I know that I've got issues but you're pretty messed up too Either way I've found out I'm nothing without you 'Cause we belong together now Forever united here somehow You've got a piece of me And honestly my life would suck without you Being with you is so dysfunctional I really shouldn't miss you But I can't let you go Cause we belong together now Forever united here somehow You've got a piece of me And honestly my life would suck without you
  17. Hi all. Lurker here. I've loved The Shamy from the beginning. So glad to find you all! What was most striking to me about the kiss was Sheldon's fluid changes from petulant teenager before the kiss ("You blinked; I win!") to being the MAN during by taking his woman, and finally almost boylike afterward as he tried to process what just happened. It speaks to Jim's talent that he could change so effortlessly and flawlessly between the three very different characters in one and in such a short span of time. I'm so excited to see how he plays through allthe uncertainty that will torture sheldon and how Mayim plays amy lovingly bringing him back to calm. I just hate that we have to wait two-and-a-half weeks to see it!
  18. OMG...this is perfect. *rushes to make Shamy Youtube playlist*
