  1. Wasn’t aimed at you in particular April, just the timing of my post. This year I’ve definitely had a few rants, not sure I’d classify them as hateful, definitely critical of the writers, but I also wrote some long rants about getting over it too. And over a much longer period of the 7 years I’ve been here I’ve been one of the more positive long ranters [emoji12] But yeah, with the finale, I’m just in the mood to rejoice. I get others aren’t as happy. Alls fair in the world of internet opinion. [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yeah I’m just gonna celebrate and enjoy. I’m gonna avoid overanalysing and nitpicking every mistake the writers made. They gave me great enjoyment over 12 seasons, despite a few howlers. I’m burying the hatchet and remembering all the good things about these characters I’ve grown to love. Nothing’s perfect in life, certainly not the writing of a sitcom. I finished today very content. 3. I just thought it was a brilliant ending. We’ve spent a lot of time being upset about Lenny’s treatment over the last few years and rightly so but when the writers get it right, they get it right. While they crammed it all into 3 episodes ( I’m counting last week’s as part of the Lenny finale, and outwardly it was another Sheldon centric story, I really felt it was a tribute to Lenny by stealth. And it was all classic Lenny, which despite the stuff ups ( I haven’t written the number 1203 on the board in my maths classes since that episode) I actually genuinely believe the writers believe in treating Lenny faithfully. Just like their first kiss, just like their first attempt at sex, just like their first try at a relationship, just like their ILYs, proposals, their weddings, their attempts to break away from Sheldon, the pregnancy was accidental, not quite what was planned but completely embraced by Penny once it happened. Their life together is not meant to be an example for others to follow. The whole thing is ridiculously unlikely but somehow spectacularly successful. I just loved that as soon as Amy did that line about Penny having to let her dress out, i just went yes shes pregnant. And they were just so damned happy when they let it out to the audience. Simply Penny is happiest when things just happen in her life. Its only when she overthinks things that her life sucks ( the breakups, the nearly breakups, the doubts about the engagements, the ILY holdouts, the moving in delays, the career issues, the kids thing) The finale highlighted how important they are to everyone. Bernie and Amy competing over best friend status, Penny reenacting years of talking Sheldon down from the edge, them being by Shamys side for the announcement, and Sheldon’s speech was so centred on them. And even at the Cheesecake Factory Sheldon acknowledged Penny’s success and growth. And last week, the support Penny gave Leonard in the Beverly story and the ending they gave Leonard with his mum. They may have been overshadowed by Shamy but the scenes just made them shine as the couple. So yeah, the writers have put us and Lenny on a tortuous roller coaster ride of mishaps and mistakes but for me that seems to make the payoffs, small in comparison they may be, much more satisfying because they come out of nowhere when you least expect it. I end my time watching my favourite show a very happy man. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yep I cried. Brilliant ending for this fab of every character. Loved it all. Loved the call backs, especially Raj stirring Leonard about his hoodies. Don’t care if it was an accident, Penny looked so happy about being pregnant when it was revealed I can believe it. Loved that they all had the guts to finally call out Sheldons behaviour and his speech was brilliant. Just a great finale. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. Yeah I reckon it’s called screenrant for a reason. They seem to go the less positive slant lately, which is understandable since that’s the vibe from many hardcore fans here. ( caveat- I haven’t read article - not interested in negative stuff. I want to finish the journey feeling happy and positive. That’s generally been my stance the last 6 years on this forum) I don’t think there’s nothing set up for the other characters. It’s more that they’ve over set up the Nobel story. Really didn’t need an entire season on it with so many episodes on just the battle between them and the other two experimental physicists. That was major overkill along with other aspects. Lenny have not had the same saturation coverage as Shamy but we still have career possibilities for both of them explored beforehand that can be resolved plus of course that OTHER issue. Even the underlying multi season arc of will they go outside their comfort zone is a chance to be explored without having to pull it out of nowhere. I personally also am interested in whether they can finally surgically remove themselves from their conjoined twins across the hall and gain some independence. It’s not Nobel prize stuff but it’s the story of Lenny that has simmered from the beginning. Will it happen? Howardette are less obvious. Bernie has her new drug thing with Penny. Does that go anywhere? Howard doesn’t seem to have much going on ATM unless the military comes back out of nowhere or NASA. As a couple, how does finally losing Stuart change their life? I don’t expect the Howard Dad thing to pop up out of nowhere. Raj has post Anu to address? Is she still around in the finale? Does he find happiness in himself? Does that change him and make him loveable? Career wise they’ve pushed the alien thing a bit? Does that lead to anything? Is the Planetarium gig his real dream or is he looking for more? I’m gonna just wait and see what happens. We’re in the End game now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Thought the last episode was a great Leonard episode but also an excellent Lenny episode as well. Even though we’ve been hit over the head with a sledgehammer by the domination of the Nobel plot and kicked in the guts by 1203 and the no kids thing, I personally think Season 12 has been a pretty good Lenny season. And this episode is a good example of the slow burn evolution of Lenny the very happy married couple and the mature adults in the room. During the season, they have both been able to deal with disagreement in support of each other without losing it. Penny stood by Leonard’s decision to donate despite reservations and Lenny pushed through major disappointment to back Penny’s no kids decision. I loved how they both handled the first kiss discussion in the Halloween episode from different perspectives. They’ve both supported and rejoiced in each other’s career moves and been such a team in supporting those friends across the hall, while also having mature discussions about their own issues with Shamy as well. ( I’ve actually enjoyed how supportive Amy has been for Leonard this season, a big change from the early years). This episode was great for Leonard in finally breaking through his emotional issues with Beverley as part of his no more putting up with crap persona, which they are maintaining. But just as good and not as obvious is the way Penny openly took on Beverley in support of Leonard. And I loved how she wanted acceptance for her role in the growth of Leonard Hofstadter. Babies or not ( which was a story that momentarily pushed me into the Dark Lenny side and turned this long time positive poster negative), kitchen island anchored support team or not, I’ve slowly grown to love how Season 12 has treated Lenny as a loving couple, the closest I’ve seen them since Season 6. Regardless of whether Shamy end up with more wins or not in the finale, I’m looking forward to being as happy about Leonard and Penny’s story in the end as Kaley has been in her interviews. 9. The Friends Set is used for visitor interaction. They choose people to play the role of the main characters and insert you into a scene on the couches in the Cafe. I played Joey when I went. Hope they do the same with BBT. Fans would love it. Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkOther than obvious Nobel link, maybe Beverly diagnoses Lenny with Stockholm syndrome as they suffer symptoms of post traumatic stress from being held captive on the island by Shamy and they finally escape their kindly captors![emoji1787][emoji23][emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. No for me, it was a moment of realisation that Leonard couldn’t let go and Penny recognised what she was missing. Took them too long to act on it. Loved that bit. Emotional yes but not sad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Part of life on this forum that personal biases shine through in some of the recent discussions. And so it goes! I would hazard to suggest that Kaley and Johnny are doing the retrospective as they were there together from episode 1 ( unlike Shamy when Mayim had no connection to the first 3 seasons) , they wanted to go with a couple ( the only other couple back then was Raj and Howard[emoji16]) that could bounce off each other , Kaley brings that over the top joy that these kind of puff pieces and Johnny has a chemistry with her, Lenny are generally the observers and connection to most things and people in the actual show so are suited to commenting on everything and everyone that happened over the 12 years and are the voice of the cast and link to the audience at every taping for as long as I remember. It doesn’t have to be a competition between us and our ships for who gets the gig. Couldn’t care less who does but Kaley and Johnny makes sense. I’m just happy to have a retrospective to walk down memory lane. I enjoyed the Seinfeld one and I’m sure I’ll enjoy this one in which we will see plenty of every one in the highlights reel. KC/JG will probably get as much on screen time in this as they have in the show as Lenny the last few years! [emoji12] Kidding! Ignore that snark[emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I think like the Central Perk Cafe set from Friends, 4A will be one part of the interactive WB MUSEUM at the end of the tour. I got to play Joey in a scene from Friends while there in 2017. I can imagine turning up in a few years and sitting in Sheldons spot re-enacting Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock on the couch or standing behind the island with a big coffee mug in my hand. 13. One of the complaints over the years is that Lenny have not been given enough opportunities for stories outside of the home, that their story has become boring because the only place we tend to see them is in their apartment and usually at the island. Part of it is that those Lenny stories, as Shamy have taken over, are just them hanging at the kitchen waiting for one or both of Shamy to come in to talk to them or standing there observing Sheldon dominating the scene - a classic case in point was the Spock documentary when they spent the entire episode at the island as an audience watching and commenting on Spock’s interview. Even last week, when Shamy went to the sensory deprivation tanks, Lenny only left the island to go observe Shamy there like they have no other point other than to be around in Shamy stories. Classic Lenny would often be seen in their iconic bedroom talks. Now they just talk at the island. Season 5-6 Lenny were seen going out. Now we just see them at the island talking about what they did. Nothing wrong with kitchen island itself as Lenny would often be there OR Penny’s kitchen island in earlier years. And it’s been exaggerated at times. But it’s become the symbol of diminished Lenny as Sheldon and Shamy have become more and more dominant. (It’s a Lenny thread so Howardette kitchen is of little interest. And they actually have appeared in the living room, the bedroom, the nursery, the back yard and deck interchangeablely quite a lot in comparison to Lenny and the island - and more often solo) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  16. Haven’t watched it yet. Did Shamy manage to speak to Lenny without mentioning super asymmetry and Nobel?![emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Yep, last time I was that excited for BBT was when I went to the taping in 2017. I like spoilers for BBT but went for media blackout before End game last night. Tomorrow I’m just going to spot what I missed[emoji12]. Now for a connection to Season 12, the writers just got the timing wrong for the last episode, doing the table read just before End Game comes out. Missed opportunity to put it into the final episode. Surely the boys would be hanging out to see it, Nobel or not. Would love to have revisited those wacky visits to the movies from earlier seasons one more time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Seeing it AGAIN tomorrow! Perfect ending. Nuff said. Here’s hoping we get an as close to perfect as these BBT writers can achieve ending for BBT. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. And I think the show’s plot may need The Infinity Gauntlet snap to organise a redo! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I’m from a family of “closers” so have to finish everything I start. Some episodes have been bland and disappointing but I’ve watched them all. Wished the baby thing never happened but still want to know if they move Lenny “off the island” by the end so I’ll be there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Had a ball dueling with this guy when he called me up from the audience 2 years ago! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. The barging in is not a complaint it’s an observation of the reality that is Lenny’s place in the show. Other than when the gang eats food at the couch, virtually every scene with Lenny as a couple or individually ends up taking place at that damned island. And the countless examples of Shamy coming into that apartment unannounced before the single event of Leonard crashing on their couch takes place is not negated by that one instance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. No, Lenny’s island is probably the main reason for the apartment match ups. Other than when Raj gatecrashed girls night and that one time Penny was practising her bar tending with the boys way back, the kitchen bench in Penny’s apartment only ever had 2 or 3 around it because it’s smaller. (Other than the Halloween party, group scenes were in the main apartment. They even moved the Penny blossom manufacturing to the big one. ) Considering the main purpose of Lenny is to be waiting at the island for Shamy to barge in looking for help or to stand there overlooking everyone else, Lenny could not survive in the show in any other environment that the main apartment with the big kitchen island ( insert sarcasm sign here ) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I call BS on the “Amy is representing the whole community of women scientists being recognised by winning Nobel prize” thing. I know it’s in a different field, but they literally had Frances Arnold on last week’s episode as a female Chemistry Nobel winner. And a woman ( Donna Strickland) won the Physics prize last year as well. And 6 Nobels for women in Medicine/Physiology in the last 15 years. 8 role models in science for female students to aspire to in the last 15 years is not quite the crisis being built into this plot. Feel it’s another forced add on to magnify this domination of Season 12 for yet another week of Shamy front and centre. Just not necessary IMHO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. It will end up like their engagement announcement- 5 seconds of happiness overshadowed by Raj announcing he had sex. Or their wedding live stream interrupted by Shamy fighting and everyone missing it. Or their decision to finally move in together as married couple hijacked by Sheldon meltdown and Penny caving to keep the big baby happy. You just know that whatever happens for Lenny it will be pushed to the background so that they have time to support Shamy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
