I wouldn't be surprised if TBBT ends similarly to Friends, but not because it has "turned into" it. Both shows have had since their beginning an important similarity, a central location (Monica's and Joy's apartments in Friends and 4a/4b in tbbt), so it makes sense that in the show ends with the main characters leaving it for the next phase of their lives.

Anyway, we have more 23 tapings to go and we have already known from S12 Ep1 taping. So:
What do you expect to see from characters lives told in the show before last episode?
I would like to see the gang projected towards a new phase in their lives, for example the main couples living in their own house and Raj, Sheldon, Amy and Leonard getting tenure in some institution (maybe not in the same area). My ideal end of the series would be Lenny and Shamy leaving their apartment and then, maybe with a flash forward, we see how they live in a few years and, of course, the smart and beautiful babies. Also, I would like for Raj to finally accomplish something good.

What would be your plot for that? Sheldon gets hurt but finds a way to transfer his brain into a hottie's body? LOL
Then somehow he returns for the final episode but we can't properly see him because a piano crashes on him, LOL!

I'd like that. I'm also interested in how the visiting characters from YS on TBBT work out. I assume they are still going to do that even though it's the last season.
The episode with Tam had already been written when the writers went at SDCC, so I guess this will happen. After that, no idea if the end of the show might change some of the plans in order to focus on giving the main characters a proper ending.

Totally agree! I want a Halloween episode and also a nice Holidays episode, in particular a New Year Eve one. Now that the once a year thing is done and the mid season finale doesn't have necessarily to revolve around Amy's birthday, there might be hope for that.

i don't think hes that unhappy about i think hes got another things going on i just saying this has to be affecting a lot this comments and people blaming him it would have affect him a lot isn't ys warner bros that could affect to so there a lot he could lose to time will tell but still buying all of this someone got to come out soonerall later and let the fans know everyone so quiet its seems so weird that's my thoughts on everthing
Jim knew that leaving the show might have huge impact over YS, and he did it anyway, this to me indicates he has very strong reasons to quit. Anyway, let's agree on disagree here, in the following weeks we'll see what happens.

i know it wont happen with tbbt but with all this pressure on jim you never know you can reverse a decision some people are begging him to continue its all on his shoulder which shouldn't had happen i don't know how this rumour got out but i think it cause him some damage he has been very quiet which is not like him
He has given up to 50 million dollars (plus all the bonuses we don't know about) and possibly pissed off WB/CBS/Lorre, which are very valuable connections, do you think he would reconsider because of angry fans? If that happened, I'm not sure, as a Jim's fan, I would want to see him in a job he has so clearly shown he is unhappy about, and I think TBBT would suffer from that.

was it how i meet your mother they come back for a couple episodes after ending the series i am not sure
No, just checked on Google and that's not the case...even if they should have done that, according to many fans (no idea since I have never really watched the show, exactly because many friends complained about its ending) the series finale was rather poor, LOL!
-
Out of curiosity (as I think this won't happen with TBBT), are there any TV series in recent years that were renewed (in the same Network) after their final season was announced?

i know thers not going be riots my point of all of this until someone from warner cbs or chuck or even jim gives what really happen people are going to vent there anger towards jim i just saw on a picture of Sheldon saying we can get red of himthere is a lot of nasty comments going around about jim which is not right this has been handle so bad i now tbbt is ending its they way they handle it
I agree all handled things very poorly, but I doubt we'll get any interview from Jim or the producer anytime soon. WB/CBS/Lorre Productions have released a joint statement about the end of the show and this is their "official" take on it. All the rest are rumours (which shouldn't have been spread in the first place, but now it's done and there's nothing we can do to change the situation) and, if Jim addresses them, he would dignify them and make things worse, especially if they are true... At this point, the best thing to do is waiting for the storm to pass, I guess it will be soon enough.

I saw on facebook some people were going protest outside warner bros don't know if it will happen who knows whats going to happen in the next couple of days i think people are upset because how its been handled with cbs warner bros chuck lorre and jim we have no interviews with any one only jim on instragram where most people are venting there anger and some is not nice its going to be very interesting next couple of days especially Tuesday how is the audience going to react so who knows its just seams so weird to me
I wouldn't say most people are venting in the comment section of Jim's IG post. From what I can see most comments are supportive, people are sad the show is ending but thank him and the whole cast for the work of all those years. Same thing happens in the TBBT Official FB page. Of course, there are some angry comments, the rumors spread in the press have done their job, but overall things are ok. I wouldn't be worried that riots are happening because TBBT is ending, LOL!

I'm kind of surprised by the silence from WB/CBS/Chuck Lorrre Productions on all of this. It's like they are leaving Jim twisting in the wind and letting him absorb all of the blame. Especially now since "sources" are "spilling" on how it all went down. A simple statement from any of them would do quite a bit to alleviate some of the heat on JP.
I think all parties have handled the situation rather poorly. If the reports are correct, the other actors were unaware of Jim's intentions and many of them, if not all, were willing to continue with the show (I know it's not the common impression on this board, but that's what all the articles about the matter say), he should have spoken with them earlier and not let them discover the whole situation in a meeting with the boss. But the way the meeting itself was handled and the fact it is now public knowledge is also something I would have done very differently. Ending the show rather than writing a character off is a creative decision, Jim had all the rights to quit and he shouldn't be held responsible for the end of TBBT. Anyway, we don't know how much of what said in those articles is accurate and, in any case, in a few days other news will be out there and all this will be forgotten by the general public. Let's hope in a great final season and wish all the actors well for their future.

Even if it is, he could of waited 2 years and then get as many roles as his heart desires
As far as I know, he has three movies scheduled that he will produce and act in, one of them needs to be shot partly in China, so he couldn't have made it during hiatuses. He also has some tv projects at different stage of evolution to produce, besides YS. Finally, he has said on many occasions he would like to develop a new play in Broadway and act in it for more than a few weeks during hiatus. Are those project going to be as successful and profitable as tbbt to him? Of course not, not even close, but evidently they are more stimulating for him at this point of his career, when he can choose what to do.

But to be fair he did NOT knock three times at the start. They started doing it later and the writers then pulled the thing about his father cheating out of their asses.
Yes, but we are supposed to think he was doing it since the start. It's one of those things that often happen during the first season of a show, when the writers are still finding their way with their characters. At some point (very soon, by the first half of s. 1) the writers decided this is one of Sheldon's idiosyncrasies, and I guess we just have to suspend disbelief of that. IIRC, for example, he knocked three times in The Staircase Implementation, a flashback episode.

Like what you said here. And just a thought, maybe Sheldon will be the one to "solve" the Fowlers problems someday, assuming they will continue with this plot. But when I say "solve", is more like there would be some interactions between them.
Actually this episode reminds me of the premier of Season 11, Sheldon being annoying, Amy gets angry, but then they have a great talk, it shows the wonderful communication between them. I like this.
@NotWonderland Thank you for the spoilers!!! I'm wondering this time we will be seeing what words or sentences from Mr. Fowler. LMAO.
I agree that there are some similarities between the bare plot of the tow episodes, but for me there is a huge difference. In S. 11 premiere they fought because Sheldon was being annoying (I prefer defying him an a$$, plain and simple) because he could not stand that Amy was in the spotlight for a change. Now it looks to me he was simply trying too hard to be the "good husband" he thinks Amy deserves. He was doing it his way, scheduling is something that makes him more comfortable, and schedules, especially when they concern "certain" matters, are for sure annoying. I like that Amy has found the right solution, a middle ground that makes both of them comfortable.

It was nine years before we learned Meemaw's given name was Constance so there's bags of time yet to learn Mrs Fowler's.
True, but you know me by now...I'm a "needy baby greedy baby" when it comes to Shamy, LOL!

The Amy's parents plot seem so funny! Poor Mr Fowler, lol! A precious break is needed once in a while when is about Mrs Fowler we are talking about!
I really hope this plot might shed some light over Amy's parent's marriage and relationship and, as a consequence, over Amy's childhood. And...I hope we finally learn Mrs. Fowler's first name! I can't believe we don't know that yet!!!

I envy Shamy so much, I so want to watch The Cursed Child Part I & II! Cutest honeymoon ever for them!
-
Excellent spoilers from the premiere! Thanks again to Wonderland! Finally the once a year thing should be done and Shamy have decided for something more spontaneous! I also like the idea they met half-way with it. If Sheldon needs a schedule, because that's how everything works for him, that's ok, he just need to keep it to himself, ahahah! Anyway, Amy's science/sexy-talk is the most powerful aphrodisiac, no need to schedule that!!!

Thanks @NotWonderland! I hope you had a great time!

Oh, not even click and bait unreliable journals are writing anything like that. It's just an opinion coming from a small number of fans, who are saying that it would have been better to write his character off and continue with the show. A legit opinion, of course, which obviously was not shared by Lorre&co.
