Who cares about facts if you have an "opinion". This seems to me to be the increasing trend these days, worldwide. The "education investment" is becoming increasingly expensive and therefore unwanted. What a terrible waste.
Yesterday, a journalist who has become the latest target of our government for his very critical views (they are even threatening him to revoke his security escort, that he has had for more than 10 years after some serious clues organized crime want him dead) said that it's much simpler for something which doesn't require critical thinking to become "viral" (and hence THE TRUTH) on social media this days than for something which require you to think and to be informed. He invited all the "informed" people to engage post-by-post to correct the misrepresentations, but, quite frankly, I think it's a lost cause.

I miss so much to get new stuff about our beloved Shamy!
Btw and my apologies if this sounds silly but what does mean "IIRC"?
I miss to get news and pics from set, the new season can't come here soon enough!
IIRC is an acronym for "If I remember correctly"

A selfie in the making, IIRC Mayim posted this selfie at some point during S. 11...

As you may have already noticed, today we rolled out a new design for the main site and the forum. We've gone back to a blue design after a couple of years being red.
Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions on the main site or forum. If there's anything that isn't working or doesn't look quite right, please let me know. The forum design has lots of elements and it's likely there's somethings that aren't just right.
When we switched to the red theme a couple of years back, a few people asked to be able to continue using a blue theme so an alternative version was added. I will be retiring that alternative blue version soon.
If anybody has any strong thoughts about the red version living on, let me know. Although there isn't a problem having a few designs most of the time, whenever there's a big forum upgrade it becomes necessary to look through and apply changes to every theme we have available. That's when it gets costly.
Nice design! I have a IittIe problem, though; on my desktop everything is fine, but when I try to Iurk at the forum from my mobile phone, aII I can see is the sub-forums, I can't see the icons with my Notifications, PMs and my ProfiIe infos, Browser, Activity, Ieaderboard, Forums, CaIendar, Staff, etc

One of the futurettes is called ''A history of time'' which should be a clear reference to Hawking and his most famous book. I guess/hope that it collects all the memories cast&crew share of him and the edited scene from last season finale.

I think one of the main reasons for the forum being generally quiet is the lack of material for discussion. There was no cliffhanger and there seems to be less and less to expect. The only "big/meduim steps" the writers could make appear to be unlikely. They say they won't have a Lenny baby, moving the characters to other houses/apartments seems unlikely, they say they like Raj being the single guy, and I think many of us are skeptical about the odds for a significant change in Penny's career.
I agree on that, the Iack of cliffhanger takes away the most obvious reason to speculate; aIso, imo, the fact we don't even know whether the next is the Iast season might be a cause. If S 12 is indeed the Iast, I can see some of the changes you were taIking about (Iiving arrangements or babies) happening, at Ieast at the very end, or being seriousIy discussed by the characters. As it is now, expeciaIIy if there is uncertainty about the future in the writers room too, I'm not hoIding my breath for them. I think that after SDCC we'II know something more, even if not every idea the writers say there makes it to the show, at Ieast we'II have us something to taIk about; in particular, I hope we'II know for sure if there is a time jump for the premiere.

Just a little heads up.
During the current summer break I notice, it has never been so quiet or even speechless in the Shamy thread. No spontaneous thoughts about further consequences, new stories, coital surveys or other expected experiences of the protagonists. Sure, I don't expect any renegades to flood the Lenny camp or futile hopes for better, even funnier events based on some group adventures with also a better integration of the usual mating habits. But no comments on the upcoming season?
That seems really strange to me.Last time somebody asked the same question, IIRC, it didn't end well, with post edited and ship-wars, LOL! Anyway, since you asked, also last season hiatus was pretty quiet, so this "situation" is no surprise to me. In particular, the Shamy thread hasn't been very crowded all season long, considering its standards (the S. 10 Shamy thread had 443 pages, while the S. 11 Shamy thread has 175 pages) and many of the members that regularly wrote in the forum during S. 11 and I have contact with are either busy in RL or disinterested in the forum at this point. I hope we'll be more active, both speaking about Shamy and about the show in general (we do have opinions about the show in general, who know?) when the season starts...

I read about interview somewhere I also heard that Leslie Moonves has high hopes for tbbt so that’s a good thing👍👍
Yes, it is indeed; honestIy, I don't think Mooves wouId have said what he said if he hadn't had at Ieast preliminary talks with the actors and they hadn't shown an "interest" for the renewaI, but many things can go wrong in negotiations, or some in the cast can change their mind, so we have just to wait for more updated news when the season starts

Can someone tell me who or what in CBS makes the renewal decisions
I guess in generaI CBS boss, LesIie Moonves, has the Iast word; if we are taIking specifically about TBBT, he said expIicitIy at the CBS Upfronts this year that the Network is wiIIing to have it on the air for as Iong as the actors are wiIIing to do it, so the baII is in their court now; obviousIy, I think Mooves meant at the present saIaries, it's not reaIIy IikeIy CBS wouId accept to give them huge raises at this time and age, but that's what negotiations are for, isn't it?
In many recent interviews, Jim Parsons said there have been discussions going on among "certain peopIe", but there hasn't been yet a "finaI" taIk among the cast about what they want to do; we'II have to wait and see what happens

Jim's interview on Ellen's. It was taped many weeks ago, Otis was still alive and it was mentioned his health was declining...it was sad!

Back to Roseanne, ABC is actively looking into a Barr-free spin off, as long as they can figure out a way to cut her off the finantial revenues! Good luck with that...

It's certainly encouraging but I am going to wait and see how much time/episodes they dedicate to this story. I'm hoping it's something you see perhaps run over the course of the season, so between 12.1 and 12.24 there will be mentions of it, scenes or episodes based on it rather than say just a three-episode arc.
Cautiously optimistic is my stance right now.
I'm cautiously optimistic too, but I don't think this will be exactly a Shamy story arc. Although Sheldon "credited" Amy for the discovery in the wedding episode, it is basically his big breakthrough in theoretical physics and I expect the writers to treat it as such next season.Holland's interviews were in this direction, more than in a "Shamy" direction. Amy wouldn't have the expertise to collaborate with Sheldon in this endeavor, apart for the general idea. I would be much more interested in seeing Shamy working on their "official" joint project for S. 10, but not holding my breath for it, as it was barely mentioned last season.

@JE7 I wouldn't say conservative/liberal/socialist...but simply populist. There's more to the world than just black and white.
Just weighing in for the Italian political situation. The most advertised measures the new government has written in the government program (which was written after the election, the two political parties who now are governing in Italy have fought against each other for the past 10 years and decided after the election to join forces) and has said will be achieved are a flat tax (which I assume is a conservative thing) and a basic guaranteed income to be given to people in need for all the time they need it (which is such a progressive thing that not even Liberals in Italy have ever advocate for that). Mind you, they have not said us how they intend to find money for all those things....Populists sounds like the right word to me!

Hey guys I'm sorry to interrupt your discussion, but I just wanted to tell you that I'm now officially an Engineer of Computer Science!
And as much as I love Sheldon, if he were real, I'll fight him to the death on the whole "boo engineers boo" schtick lol.
As you were. 😁
Congrats!!!

But if they revamped the show not to include Roseanne that may have worked. People IMO would of have an interest in that. It's not like they have another show in the works and ABC killing the other networks in ratings.
I've read in an article, sorry can't find the Iink right now, they are considering a new show which incIudes aII characters but Roseanne, but there's the IegaI complication Roseanne Barr created the show and the characters, so they wouId have to pay and credit her, and they wouId be stiII associated with her; they are evaluating the situation

That's true, but then so does Johnny Galecki, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and others. Are they being attacked for not standing up to Roseanne?
Sara GiIbert was a producer in the revivaI (as Roseanne Barr was) and among the ones who had the idea for it; she has been attacked mainIy in this capacity, according to some fans (I kinda agree, TBH) she knew Roseanne's views and behaviours beforehand and shouId have expected this outcome. Anyway, in the comments I've read to Sara's tweets about the situation aIso the other actors are caIIed out for not standing up to Roseanne, Iess vehementIy than Sara for sure, but they are caIIed out

They could not just kill her character? Perhaps S.G. should reboot The Conners without Roseanne..
Jim Parsons is pitching something Iike that, ahahah!
More seriousIy, though, the canceIIation Ieft a huge hoIe in ABC schedule, so maybe they'II arrange something Iike that; anyway, I think writing her off and continuing with the show it might be equally controversiaI, and not very profitable; I guess they'II take some time to see if that's a viable solution

I've been reading about this. Is it an April 1st joke nearly two months late ? Somebody's rude in real life about a politician and tptb throw the whole cast out of work and deprive millions of a comedy in a world that isn't exactly overflowing with good ones ? In the last episode somebody was sarcastic about the president's spelling and nobody minded. I was just getting into this series.
They wouId have faced massive backlash if they didn't do anything about it, advertisers and viewers couId have boycotted Roseanne and the other ABC shows; aII things considered, it was the decent thing to do (as I think it wasn't just a rude joke, it was a racist comment, and judging from the reactions I've seen on Iine that was the generaI opinion) but aIso saved ABC a Iot of troubIes and a Iot of money.
