@joyceraye, I think those situations could be funny for maybe a one-off episode, but I wouldn't enjoy seeing it played out over an extended time. Raj isn't poor, even if you don't count his parent's money. He just has to learn to stop spending as if he's rich. Actually, I think it could be very interesting to pair him (briefly) with a woman who's wealthy and perfectly happy to pick up where his parents left off. If we could see Raj find the strength, not only to break up with a woman, but one who's willing to pay for anything he wants? That would definitely show us growth on his part.

    Happy birthday, @mirs1!!
  5. [Spoilers] Shamy: Season 11

Oh, that makes sense. I didn't see any of those. Always glad to see a couple try to make it work, so I'm rooting for them.
  6. [Spoilers] Shamy: Season 11

Oh I didn't realize they'd gotten back together. Good for them
  7. [Spoilers] Shamy: Season 11

It's not just an issue of age. They're at very different places in their lives. Mayim is divorced with 2 kids and Melissa is married with no children, a previous miscarriage, and an expressed desire to have a child.

He's mentioned a brother a couple of times during the series. You can find a list of the references here.

To each his (or her) own. I think Sheldon's growth has been very organic, as has Howard's and Penny's. It's one of the things I like best about the show. If they were all the same people they were in Seasons 1-3, I'd have gotten bored and left by now. I suspect much of the audience would have as well, but that's my own bias. I will say that my brother, on his own, discovered Big Bang just recently and over the summer watched all 10 seasons. He knows I like the show, but that's about it. TBBT isn't a big topic of conversation for us. I asked him the other day if he liked the early season or the late seasons better, if he could tell a difference. He said, "I liked it better once they all got girlfriends." Totally anecdotal and FWIW, but there's one vote.

Out of curiosity, when did anyone suggest that??
  11. [Spoilers] Shamy: Season 11

Holy moly, y'all. Wouldn't this be the PERFECT thing for Shamy to work on together?? Scientists find “evidence” of a multidimensional universe INSIDE our brain http://educateinspirechange.org/science-technology/scientists-find-evidence-of-a-multidimensional-universe-inside-our-brain/ Somebody needs to make this happen!
  12. [Spoilers] Shamy: Season 11

@April, thanks so much for bringing this up. It's actually something I've been thinking about for a couple of seasons now. And the show itself dealt with it some back in 1 or 2 (whenever Dennis Kim came to campus). It's very difficult for a child prodigy to stay ahead of everyone for his whole career. At some point, he or she begins to level off. It's impossible to stay the smartest one in the room your entire life. But life and work experience and maturity can actually turn you into a better scientist than you were when you were a wunderkind. And thanks in large measure to the ways Amy in particular and the gang in general have helped teach him how to move past his ego and consider what others have to offer, he's well on his way to being a much better scientist than he was before.

I think so too. That's why I threw all kinds of qualifiers in there: " If the guys were able to work toward a theory that would help prove the multiverse, maybe we could see them close to a Nobel by the time Big Bang ends. "
  14. [Spoilers] Season 11 Discussion Thread

Apparently Leonard's depressing epiphany is something real-life physicists are grappling with right now. This article breaks it down. A few key quotes: So now instead of thinking this is just the conclusion of the "guys are depressed over losing their project" story arc, I think this probably marks the beginning of a whole new arc. Maybe the scientists who consult on the show brought up this issue and the show runners decided to work it into the guys' lives. I think it's fascinating. If the guys were able to work toward a theory that would help prove the multiverse, maybe we could see them close to a Nobel by the time Big Bang ends.
  15. I really think/hope it's just a dark place he and the guys have to go through to get some place better.
