I've actually fallen asleep during shamy scenes last seasonI hope they don't give several appearances to Zack. If they do it means more appearances for Lenny. They drive me nuts and I prefer them in the background. I prefer more Howardette, Stunice and Raj.
Penny just makes me cringe and Leonard is boring as they come. I compare Leonard to milk and toast. No flavor at all, just bland.

It's not illegal to be gay anywhere in the USAbout thirty years ago there was an American TV series 'Soap' which had a male gay couple in it.
The grandmother of the baby daughter of one of them said, 'You're a homo ? We don't have homos in Texas, live ones anyway.' They probably wouldn't be allowed to put that in a script these days.
In places where it's not allowed, it stands to reason they'd be in the closet. why wouldn't they ? Who wants to go to prison and/or be beaten up ? A man's sexuality doesn't make him stupid.
I knew a RL gay couple once and they weren't stupid. In fact they were anything but and both became mayor at different times. People who didn't know them well assumed they were father and son. They were partners in a business and lived together in the same big house. They weren't in the closet, just didn't go on about it until the civil partnership law came in. They were discreet and nobody felt threatened enough to want to do them harm.
Where it's not only allowed but fashionable and even encouraged, there might be young people mistakenly thinking they are gay when they are really straight. They're the ones I worry about. Someone like Raj who in the 18th century would be known as a dandy or a fop, or a mere rich man who could afford to take care of his skin and hair and who probably dressed in fashionably colourful, flamboyant outfits, could easily in another social circle in this century be persuaded he was gay. Where and when one grows up can make a big difference.

Maybe where you live but here in long beach about 50,000 people come out for pride weekend every year it's the second biggest money maker for the city the grand prix draws about 125,000 for the weekendThere are many gay people still in the "closet"! As far as Beverly goes, hopefully she stays out of situation. Nothing she will do will be good for Leonard!

I don't think Penny would do that She would probably be afraid shamy would do experiments on the baby like Leonards mother didBut not necessarily together. Next thing you know Penny will donate eggs to Shamy. Then the Shennys can have sort of have their "told you so" moment.

I thought with Zack coming back it would have something to do with the fake wedding and maybe a talk Zack and Penny had about a fake family I sure didn't expect this. Did Penny even talk to Leonard about not having kids before she made her decision

I've thought from the start of their comments about going out with a big bang you would have to be a sheldon fan so I'm not really surprisedOkay, I've just rewatched all tens episodes and the opinion I'm about to give I expect will be in the minority. So, in my opinion, the best way to describe season twelve so far for me is just rubbish, I'd even go as far as saying this could be the worst season of the show ever.
My issues with it are first in my opinion there is way too much focus on the Shamy already and we're not even halfway through. It's been bad enough having this happen over the last several seasons but having it continue in the final season is just wrong. I mean in the first seven episodes it could be forgiven as the writers didn't know it was going to the final season. But episodes eight, nine, ten and eleven have all been written knowing full well it was the final season. Yet they have still continued to have the Shamy be the main focus with all four of those episodes main plots being Shamy.
This brings me to my next issue the Shamy paper has had way too much attention these last two episodes and it continues in episode eleven. So for three episodes in a row, they have had a plot revolving around the Shamy paper. That's two too many in my opinion. What's worse is in episode eleven their paper is going to be published and end up well received. Thus making all the plots in the last to episodes pointless and all that Sheldon and Amy moping could have been avoided. and we could have been given far more interesting plots than they were. I really hope after the next episode we don't hear any more about that paper till near the end of the season. although preferably never again, but I know that's not going to happen so we'll probably get constantly mentioned all season.
Next, I don't like how they've subjected us to YS if I wanted to watch that I would I don't want to see it in TBBT.
Raj Anu, is uninteresting they need to get rid of her and if they really want to give him s relationship. How about near the end of the show have him bump into an ex-girlfriend and they rekindle their relationship, also the Stuart/Denise relationship is wasting time that could be spent on the main character.
With fourteen episodes left one of which we already know what's going to happen in it, they have an opportunity to improve things. Will this happen? , i doubt it. I would really like to see a good resolution as to whether Penny will ever want kids. I also think they should give Penny a new career something she'd be happy with. It just comes off rubbish if she's mentioned several times she hates her job yet we are supposed to believe she somehow is happy with it now that's BS, but I doubt this will happen. Or how about giving Lenny some achievement to be proud of, I mean Howard went to space and can tell everyone about and how he's an astronaut. Raj was in a magazine, Bernadette after getting her doctorate was head by a major pharmaceutical company and is well paid. The Shamy have their paper which I expect us to bever here the end of for the rest of this final season. Yet in my opinion, the two with no real achievements to be proud of are Leonard and Penny. Which I think they should, but again that won't happen( I'm sure some here will say they have had achievements, but I don't see them).
Also just in case anyone accuses me of hating on the Shamy, I'm not I have no issue with them, my issue is I'm tired of the constant focus on them and them getting the majority of the plots. It has, in my opinion, made the show over the last several seasons very stale. I had hoped with this being the final season that we'd get a more balanced season between all the characters but once again it has been heavily Shamy focused. Now it can be argued that the first seven episodes where written not knowing it was the final season and that's why they continued the focus on Shamy. However episode eight onwards have been written knowing full well it was the final season, and yet they have continued giving the Shamy the main focus. Which is why I dislike this season so much at the moment they have an opportunity to make this final season about ALL the characters yet they are as of right now squandering it.
Now we thirteen episodes in which things could very well improve but going on what has already been seen and how previous seasons have gone my expectations for that happening are at the lowest they have ever been.
Still waiting for this supposed greatest season ever to start.

I don't remember Leonard bragging about having sex with anyoneI'm saying I think he is that kind of guy and i think he would have said that and I'm at a loss as to why he didn't. He knew they would talk about him afterwards between themselves. If you disagree, that's fine. But I think he cared what they thought and that whole scene where he discussed it with him was off somehow.

Actually after episode 12-24 its finished there won't be any improvementMy point was essentially art is subjective. They are not writing to a set of codes or specifications. The point from GL was that art is never finished because it can always be improved given more time or more resources (these things are finite in the real world).

So in tv production its ok to just give up on a long running program in its last season do the writers get their check each week and don't try or how does that work

In the late eighties and early nineties when i had my last real job there was a $2500 penalty per day for not being done on time for the projects i bid on and i usually had 2 going at a time and i never finished late I work on boats now that I'm retired just doing interesting projects and donating my time for fund raising programs and finish when i say i will. Personally i would never put a new project over one i need to finishPerhaps more like the guy who is a year from retirement and no longer innovative but has done superb work most of last decade and many still hold in high esteem.

I know tptb had Leonard and Penny do things that weren't in character as far as I'm concerned but to change the original to match the new show imo shows that their not that concerned about tbbt as they are ysI think the changes are nothing compared to the boat kiss and the marriage to Zack. Who snores was another unforced inconsistency.
