That he was done after 11.24 as in S12 would be the final so that they'd have a whole summer to plan out final storyline scripts

Not Jim announcing in August after the first episode (which was a terrible season premiere)

Your post wasn't clear on that.

And even then, it wouldn't have changed anything. Holland himself said they approached S12 as if it were the last. They had only written the first handful of episodes when the announcement was made. Not to mention that by their own admission they don't plan out anything long it advance anyway. So no matter how you cut it by now they had enough time to come up with better storylines BUT DIDN'T. The only thing that remotely feels like something is building up towards the finale is the Shamy story line with their fairytale Nobel and even that storyline started in S11. Everybody else is just treading water. Having an additional summer for that wouldn't have changed anything. Heck, they had years to find something interesting for Lenny and didn't come up with anything worthwhile so what makes you think one summer could magically change that???

Season 12 is really no lamer by comparison, but if there's one thing I wish Jim had done it was say back in April 2018 that he was done after the 11.24 taping. He must've been on a high from how fun that was and didn't want to spoil the mood. (My personal theory is also that Hawking's passing acted to Jim as a sign from the universe that this stage of his life was kaput.)

He already signed a contract that he'd do S12. What you're suggesting is a serious breach of said contract. And no, you don't wanna end a show like this with bad blood just because you bailed in the middle of a 2-year production deal.

Secondly, Jim has said for a long time that he won't do this show forever and joking that nobody wants to see old Sheldon anyway so it was inevitable that at one point he wouldn't sign on for another season. I also think a much bigger factor than Hawkings's passing was that he's steadily build up his own production company and was seeking out his own projects. The summer play he did was probably the final nail in the coffin.

Now that you say it, that does seem shorter than what I think she usually wears, but I don't follow her that closely and I don't care enough about outfits to remember her previous outfits...

When she stands you can see it ends a bit above her knees and she's worn short dresses like this on many occasions. So nothing extraordinary.

And it still fitsemoji15.png!? That’s as good as Penny still fitting into her Miss Cornhusker jeans!emoji12.png

It's a bit tight around the neck but otherwise, yes. To be fair it was a few sizes too big given to me by a well meaning grandma like "you'll grow into it!" lol

And over a 6 year period! Who knew Penny kept her clothes for that long? Maybe I’ll send her my 1994 Shaq Oneal sweater I’ve been wearing for 25 years!emoji1787.png

I have a sweater that I've had since I was like 10 or so. lol

They buy multiple copies of the cheaper items.  Mary Quigley did a video interview for EW years ago where they walked the interviewer through the wardrobes.  It's really quite fascinating.  Sheldon has been wearing the same shoes for years and they have multiple pairs stored in wardrobe. Quirky shirts she finds for the guys, she also buys multiples of.

Penny does repeat outfits, specifically shirts.

Care to name/show some examples of those outfits? As said by @Mario D. it occasionally happens on purpose to draw a parallel between two episodes. But overall Penny is the one character whose on screen outfits are less like a real wardrobe (i.e. compared to the other characters who regularly wear the same stuff over and over) and more like a weekly fashion show.

High quality (expensive) clothing photographs better.  It also holds up better over the course of a shoot...keeps it shape, wrinkles less etc.

BBT characters often repeat outfits, so the more expensive clothing holds up to repeated cleaning and rewearing, which keeps the wardrobe department from having to purchase multiple copies of the same outfit.

Except, Penny gets outfits that are several 100 dollars and wears them once, meanwhile they buy cheap shirts for the guys that are like 25 bucks and they wear them repeatedly over the years. So that theory doesn't really track.

It's just speculation on my part, with episodes being aired on a Thursday and valentines day being a Thursday I was thinking they might make the episode that airs that night a valentines episode. it will probably be episode 16 which I have  know idea when the taping for that will be.

Yeah, I know it was just speculation. You could be spot on with that idea though since it's right on the date. We'll see.

But yeah, I just really lost track of the taping dates.

I believe it will be filmed on Feb. 5th.

    Thank you! ❤️

Just a random question I want to ask you guys, with February 14th  being a Thursday, do you think they'll do a Valentine's episode?. If you do what do think it'll be like?.

I personally think due to how this season has gone so far it'll be mainly Shamy and Raj/Anu with Lenny & Howardette getting either minor scenes or just mentions of what they will be doing.

When will that episode be filmed? The taping and broadcast thread isn't up to date so I lost track.

I'm not quite sure, but I believe they linked to our forum here in a previous article.

I like this website. I find their topics related to TBBT mostly comprehensible and well-founded.
So I dare to post this genuine topic here. (Please, let me stay alive.)

    Me, either.

16 year olds do dye their hair, especially if they're fixated on being popular, but I don't think the writers think things through that well. They didn't consider that they might be joking about it seasons later.

I haven't seen my sister's natural hair colour since she was 14. lol

Jim loves Broadway. I think he can go back there and be happy and successful. He's got enough money to live on for the rest of his life if he doesn't get crazy with it anyway. And I don't see what his being gay has to do with future work. It didn't matter for TBBT, it didn't matter for The Muppet Movie, for goodness sake, and in any decent casting situation in this day and age it shouldn't either. It's called acting for a reason.

Besides, he's probably made more money doing commercials than some actors have made on TV shows.

It's not just that, he has his own company to produce whatever he wants. Even in the unlikely case that nobody wanted to cast him in anything ever again (which in itself is of course nonsense) he can just cast himself in whatever story he feels like playing or he'll work more behind the scene in general. He really can do whatever he wants at this point.

Actually IRL  it's only the Nobel Peace Prize that takes more than 20 years, the other Nobel prizes can be won much sooner if I remember correctly Kip Thorne won his along with his colleagues in 2017 only about a year after discovering gravity waves.  There is an interesting fact about Nobel prize winners though and that is they are never young, I think the youngest to receive one is 58. So if they go down the route of having Sheldon and Amy win a Nobel try will the youngest recipients ever. Of course unless there papers theory can be proven they can't win a Nobel for so unless the show has them prove their theory they won't win a Nobel. Of course, given how much attention this plot is getting I mean it's been covered in the last three episodes, then we get an episode break from it then it's back. So that's 4 out of 5 episodes that have had a plot about their paper in( nothing has had that much attention before). Anyway, in my opinion, Sheldon shouldn't get a Nobel prize, because it's unfair for him to get what he always wanted in the show but Leonard won't, I know people will disagree but this is just my opinion.

What? They hand the Nobel Peace Prize out like candy. Obama essentially got his for his election campaign. Jeez.

(I mean, not saying that there were never any worthy recipients but the Peace Prize doesn't require "more than 20 years".)

I have an answer April, but see my answer to Die above.  I may get to when I get back, or more likely it will be old news and not worth pursuing.

No need. By the time you get to it the discussion will have moved on. It already has.

I prefer you have a great time at the taping and I'll be looking forward to reading your TR! 😄

Yes I imagine Sheldon loving the baby but not all the stuff that comes out of him/her.

I could never forget the first night with the first baby at home. My first attempts at changing a diaper with spillage on the change table and the spit-up in my beard.  I could go on but there is a lot to adjust to.

No parent likes baby poo. lol

But babies are very different with that as well. We never had any big issues with baby poo accidents while my poor sister's baby had regular blow outs all the way up her little one's neck.
