  1. No ! When the fire is lit your parents leave the back door unlocked so Santa can get into the house safely. They leave mince pies and a glass of port and a glass of sherry on the table in the kitchen. Everybody knows this.
  2. Yes and at the universty Leonard would see her at work, not work with her.
  3. If all the YS viewers knew about Amy, that would indeed have been better. In this forum we know Amy and her personality and her suitability or not as a wife for Sheldon. All YS-ers know, unless they are/were TBBT viewers, so long as they happened to catch the part of adult Sheldon's narration in the episode where it was mentioned along with the name of a son, is Amy's name. He usually just says 'my wife' or 'my children' if he mentions them at all. We've heard future ( to both series ) adult Amy's voice only once. Mayam was working in the vicinity when they were finishing off a previously Covid-interrupted YSepisode,so they took advantage of her availability. I think we may well need a crossover thread someday. The writers drop information in YS on purpose IMHO, just as they did in TBBT to link us up with Sheldon's past. YS-ers know what the other six children were doing around the time the 1990 Nobel winners were announced. We've seen Sheldon in the Caltech canteen circa 1991. A backward shadow. Although some TBBT fans might prefer to imagine for themselves our beloved gang's future, I'd love to hear more gems dropped about them, We know how many children Missy eventually had, and how long Mary had been working for the Church. It's interesting that the impression given in TBBT of a 'dumbass daddy' wasn't entirely realistic - he was a teacher, at least until 1991. We don't know how old Sheldon is when he's narrating.
  4. Fair enough. I thought as there was a post in the TBBT forum about Paige's being better suited to adult Sheldon than Amy, it should be answered. I think Amy is the best possible match for Sheldon. Actually, I think they were all well-matched in the end. Considering the men came from broken marriages and the women didn't,it would be interesting to know how the writers' minds were working regarding that.
  5. Not every TBBT fan is, but Sheldon talks a lot about his childhood and some non-YS viewers of TBBT might find the odd bit of information here and there useful.
  6. And he was also a notary public.
  7. The family came from another town. They wanted to make more money so they could send Paige to a school for clever children. Her father was a dentist. Sheldon and Paige were ten. Sheldon's parents couldn't afford that sort of schooil but he got a scholarship to one far away. He didn't like the digs so he went to the local high school where his father taught football. Mary needed parents of a gifted child to talk to, which was how they all met. Paige and Sheldon both attend a physics class at a university.Sheldon will go there full time in September. He sees her more of a rival than a friend. Missy gets on well with her. George isn't philandering yet. Paige's parents have split up so who knows what's coming. Sheldon in TBBT never said when his father went off the rails. George already likes his beer.
  8. No. The adults didn't meet one another until the children wete ten.
  9. She'll be in the commercials this week, if they are the same as the promos. Adult Sheldon never mentioned her on TBBT. Perhaps she found her way onto his enemies list.
  10. It's too early to tell how YS Paige will turn out. She's eleven and judged by this week's promo is not kind to Sheldon. He holds on to grudges for decades. So far she's a lot less robotic than Sheldon and is getting closer to Missy. Amy's similarity to Sheldon was what drew them together in the first place. Amy softened before Sheldon did but they still had a lot in common and we know their marriage lasted.
  11. Roller skates would have been a better idea altogether.
  12. I thought so when I learned about it. In US law it was about an illegal event and a potentially abusive one at that. Not the sort of thing to joke about.
  13. Our Parish Church had a service on Zoom with just the vicar and a bloke from the Royal British Legion at the local war memorial. He read the poems and played the bugle. It finished in time to watch the ceremonies on TV from The Cenotaph. I was impressed by the standard of the orgnisation of the event. But for the absence of the march-past and the condensed number of the Commonwealth, Irish and other overseas representatives, it was hard to tell the difference from any other year. One thing annoyed me - the referring to the Leader of Her Majesty's Loyal Opoosition ( who's usually on state occasions referred to by his or her official title ) as 'The leader of the Labour party'. I'm a bit of a Sheldon when it comes to that sort of thing. For us the 11th is not a holiday. It's an ordinary working and school day with some stopping at 11 am for two minutes' silence and then carying on as usual. The nearest Sunday is Remembrance Sunday which is marked by ceremonial events up and down the country. There are a few places called 'The Fortunate Villages' which do not have a War Memorial because they've never needed one.
  14. I doubt Sheldon took the drug for long enough to suffer serious side-effects. He probably woukdn't mention it as an adult because he' d see it as a sign of weakness. What surprises me is his keeping quiet about the removal of his spleen.
  15. It's getting to the time Missy needs her own room again. Will there be ructions over Sheldon and Georgie each refusing to shae a oom with the other; will they have to get a builder in to alter the layout of the floor; will they have an extension built or will they move to the house on blocks ?
  16. The others told Penny he was an ass when he didn't drink, she just didn't hear it. They were right in many ways, even up to the very last episode.
  17. Thanks. It might be a line missed out in a pre-watershed airing on E4 in UK. I'm not sure whether I've ever heard it. Penny has never been anything but honest about her tarty past. I can see why some Americans would be disturbed by the line because anyone young enough in the USA to be going to school would be below the age of consent, therefore a man twice her age would be committing a serious offence.
  18. Sheldon can indeed forget. He says he doesn't but that's not quite true, although his memory is very good.
  19. I don't know what a Luther joke is. I've heard of Lex Luther who was in the Superman comics when I was a child and Martin Luther the Reformation priest. I can't see what either of them has to do with Penny. .
  20. OK so we now know a little more of Shamy's family life. I do hope they'll mention odd things about the lives of the other TBBT characters too.
  21. https://www.glamour.com/story/big-bang-theory-fans-just-got-the-best-surprise-on-young-sheldon This is an interesting article with a lot of spoilers.
  22. That one works. Thank you very much. Edited to add : I also found this one by putting the info from Jessica Radloff's tweet into a search box : https://www.glamour.com/story/big-bang-theory-fans-just-got-the-best-surprise-on-young-sheldon
  23. I scrolled down for ages and found no sign of it. Is there an exact URL ?
