  1. Considering my first TV Crush was Bo Duke, gotta go with a Southern Drawl.
  2. Character day at school today. I got someone to dress up as Sheldon.
  3. My Methodist Church in The States does a time of remembrance for all members who passed during the last year on the Sunday on/after November 1st, All Saint's Day.
  4. Decisions, Decisions... My Bucs, who are 2-0 for the first time in 8 YEARS and just beat the Super Bowl Champs Eagles are scheduled to play the Steelers on Monday Night Football on Sept 24th! Think I might miss at least the first quarter...
  5. Am I the only person who is annoyed that after they showed 10x24 they didn't go back to 1x1, but aired 3x1 instead?
  6. We had 3 sets of Identical Twins in the 8th Grade last year (2 sets of boys, 1 set of girls). 2 of the 3 sets (1 boy, 1 girl) were with us for 6th-8th Grade, and we were able to keep them on separate teams; the other set of boys were only with us 7th & 8th Grade and both qualified for our Honors Level team... we made sure they weren't in the same classes. I still couldn't tell them apart at the end of last year. They've since moved on to High School and now we have set of boys and girls in the 6th Grade.
  7. I've said it before, but here it is again: Final episode opens with Lenny discovering they are pregnant and them going around telling everyone the good news. A 9 month time jump happens before the tag scene. Tag scene is Penny going into labor and getting into the newly repaired elevator to go to the hospital to have the smart and beautiful baby.
  8. My bridal set looks like one ring... perhaps hers is the same? For those of you saying "Well, Sheldon already had the engagement ring, so how could it be a set?" My rings were bought separately from 2 different jewelry stores, but they fit together. Quality is not that great, but you get the idea...
  9. 22 years in Education... where do I begin? I've seen Mi'Lord, Lovengod, Shanntaqwayla, Mister, SirGregory, Edquisha. I could go on and on...
  10. Series finale centers around Penny informing everyone she is pregnant. Tag scene is after a 9 month time jump she goes into labor and uses the newly fixed elevator to go to the lobby to get in the car to have the baby.
  11. The rally was at the State Fairgrounds less than 10 miles from me... it was free. There were people who camped out just to get in the front. 😕 If I hadn't gone back to work this week and need to get back on my "school schedule", I might have done some protesting.
  12. We got paid a week early, but then we had to make up the time.
  13. In Florida, we close for tropical storms or hurricanes. We were closed for a week when Irma came through.
  14. If the new show is more Darlene centered, he might appear more.
  15. I had that High School experience...it's not very exciting.
  16. That's the way it is in the US; I think there is a mandate that states that a school year has to be at least 180 days. Some states don't go back until Early September but they don't get out until Mid or Late June.
  17. The last day for teachers in my county in Florida (Hillsborough; includes the city of Tampa) was 5/29, and their first day back is 8/2. I'm a middle school counselor, so I stay a little longer (last day 5/31), and come in earlier (first day 7/30). That's approximately 2 months without pay. Your options are to either have money taken out of your check during the school year so that you can get paid over the summer (the school district gets the interest while the money is sitting in the coffers, btw), get a summer job, or both. Professional development trainings (which gives you the inservice credits required to renew a teaching certificate) are offered during the summer but typically are not paid. Personally, I am in favor of the idea of year-round school. One elementary school in my county did this for a few years. Instead of having a 2 month break in the summer which results in "summer slide", they took a break in between each grading period. This provides remediation for struggling students during the school year, and teachers who need the money volunteer to teach the courses. It didn't take off, and a lot of parents in that attendance area moved out of the area or opted out to magnet or charter schools because they had a hard time finding child care because the parents still had to work while the kid was off or the school schedule wasn't exactly custody agreement friendly.
  18. It would have cost more per month to add him than the Obamacare insurance quotes, which weren't cheap because they took into account household income rather than just his (we try to keep our finances as separate as possible). The cost to add him to my insurance was 4X my cost. Not any better, but he did manage to find insurance cheaper than what my plan and Obamacare offered. There are plenty of things wrong with Education in America, but that's another discussion for another time. Like I said, I don't want to debate about this. Just wanted to chime in and say I understand families that are divided politically.
  19. Right there with you. I was up all night texting with my niece who was inconsolable. Hubby can't stand Trump, but voted for him mainly because of Obamacare. DISCLAIMER**Not trying to get into a debate, this is our situation**DISCLAIMER The Obamacare situation sucks if you're an independent contractor (he's a truck driver) with a gainfully employed spouse (I'm a middle school counselor). Obamacare looks at household income to quote insurance prices. I looked into adding him onto my insurance, but that would cost more per month than the Obamacare quotes. Again, not trying to get into a debate, just citing our situation.
  20. There is a gubernatorial candidate in my state who proudly states in his commercial that he's "supported by the Big Guy himself". Considering how much the Idiot in Chief is dividing the GOP, I don't know if I'd use that in a campaign commercial.
  21. Regarding Michael J Fox... maybe Amy can work with Parkinson's Disease research!
  22. I thought the same thing. Sheldon would have to be 12-13 years older than Amy for that to be the case.
