  1. Magazines are free to have whoever they want on their covers or who they want to do photoshoots with. If I was working for a magazine around that industry and had the creative license and control and budget to make it all happen I am looking to secure a deal to get ALL of them on the cover. As a fan of the show (yeah I still consider I am one despite how I feel about it at the moment) I would only buy a magazine, poster or other form of media involving ALL of them. Why? Because it’s a final goodbye from the whole cast and I do know how much each cast member has contributed to a show that has given me a lot of good moments and all-round escapism particularly during periods of darkness in my own life. I have met a lot of good people in the fandom and in large part that’s because of such a talented cast, all of them that gave me so much enjoyment from the work that they did that I really wanted to talk about it with others.
  2. Thanks for the kind birthday wishes everyone! 😀
  3. It happens in real life, people who do love each other and in loving relationships have split over kids. It’s a tricky situation, something that might change over time on either side (Penny may want kids at some point, Leonard may come to the conclusion he can live without having them). Or they may just carry on as they are sort of in between but never really discuss the subject which could lead to resentment. I still think they will ultimately have children.
  4. No, I think they need to have this discussion and resolve it once and for all, instead of pussyfooting around for fear of hurting the other. Not talking about it results in ideas like agreeing to be a donor for your wife's ex-husband and a counter move in trying to sabotage that donation. I think both stances are perfectly reasonable and I don't think that either of them should budge on the issue purely to please the other. If Penny doesn't ever want kids that's fine, if Leonard has to have kids then that's also fine and so we know where they both stand and what their options are going forward.
  5. Leonard and Penny will be happy for them, if Leonard becomes jealous then he needs to grow the f up or have a heart-to-heart discussion with his wife about their future/future plans. Does every character or relationship based milestone need to be a contest on who got their first? Or in this case second?
  6. An end scene of Amy releasing some monkeys to chase the guy out of the lab would have been fun, but alas lol
  7. Yeah I know that. To sum it up I'm not a fan of Amy losing her work and then possibly willing to give everything up. That decision in 12.5 basically caused me to lose complete interest in this particular storyline. Wasn't a fan at all of their creative decision personally.
  8. The story required Sheldon to kind of choose and have that moment as a viewer when you might question whether he would take the nomination without her. Personally, I never thought he would, it was pretty obvious he was going to say without her he wouldn't be in the conversation for a nomination and rightly so he made the correct decision on a human level to turn it down. My issue honestly if this was true to character is seeing Amy give up the nomination so easily considering the time and effort she put into the project and how earlier in the season she lost her other projects in an attempt to get her focused solely on this one not only for Sheldon but also the University. It was a selfless act willing to give it up, but Amy is a scientist as well and a nomination is a big deal. I'm honestly not sure Amy should have been so willing to step aside considering how the story has actually played out i.e. Losing her other projects specifically. Anyway, if they get the nomination or not, or if they get the nomination but never get the Nobel I don't really care as long as they are happy at the end of it. The project has been very underwhelming for me as a Shamy fan, all I care about is their happiness going forward.
  9. With the way it played out I strongly suspect they never had a conversation like that when they were engaged or even way back when they were dating. I don’t see any betrayal as we clearly never saw anything on screen to indicate that to be the case. And anyway people can change their mind over time. Even if there wasn’t a second Wolowitz baby I think there is no guarantee there would have been a Leonard and Penny child on the show. I think viewer fatigue maybe even creative fatigue is a factor in their decision making process, but there are other factors as well. For example having a child (even an invisible one) on the main set of the show brings its own challenges in terms of story writing. With Howard and Bernie having their own set home I do think it has been easier than say having a child living in 4A and with the two couples interacting so much in 4A and 4B.
  10. I don’t think there is any big or deep hidden reason at all actually. I think it’s pretty clear she simply doesn’t have that maternal urge at this very moment. Could that change in the future and she decides that she now wants kids? Of course it could, but then again those feelings may never be there or develop, for many people they never do.
  11. I agree with a lot of what she is saying here. For a final season of a beloved sitcom they are relying too much on guest stars this season and that storylines in general are either very much a hearken to seasons past (so creatively unimaginative and lazy) or poorly written and crafted. If the season was really good, exciting and enjoyable then a special mega guest star episode could be that nice cherry on top to cap it all off. Instead we get a mega packed old school written cherry of an episode on a season of dross, with bizarrely written stories (or unrealistic and poorly crafted in the case of the Shamy project). Or we get stories with simply no resolution, or there is a resolution planned in the writing room but the writing is that bad you don’t become invested enough to want to stick with it to see what that resolution might be. So an episode like this doesn’t have the level of impact it really should have.
  12. Oh dear I suspect there will be people frantically rushing around and deleting tweets and Instagram posts including this photo across the world.
  13. I always thought a Howardette spinoff could work, maybe in a few years time you could use some child actors as well as their children. It would of course be a very different show. Logically for a spinoff to happen I think the wisest way to do it would be to have a couple move out of the area, maybe relocating for work in the finale. I agree with @vonmar though, I don't think a spinoff will happen and most certainly not in the immediate future.
  14. If it was real life it absolutely could happen, but this isn’t real life so I think chances of a divorce are nonexistent. Penny is going to change her mind and I think the writers will do it in such a cack-handed way that it makes you question why the change of mind as it won’t be properly explored or explained.
  15. I'm fairly ambivalent on kids or no kids for them, I guess I ultimately care about the question 'Are they happy and on the same page about kids?' and that question needs to be answered whether they decide to have kids or not. I don't think this storyline has provided that answer, I still got the view that Penny doesn't want children (and I respect this a ton, because not everyone wants to have children which is perfectly reasonable and should be absolutely respected), in fact it was even more reinforced to me that she doesn't and Leonard clearly does but he will give it up to stay with her. I know people in real life whose relationships have ended over the decision to have or not to kids, it's a huge issue and if they are not on the same page or share similar feelings then they should consider the future of their relationship going forward. And even if there is a change, or some shift on the subject, having children for the wrong reasons is really not the way to go and that can end a relationship just as easily.
  16. I share similar thoughts and concerns. Like you said I think they have had ample opportunity for her to change her mind and whilst I think the whole donation plot was pretty absurd and bizarre it could have been 'the moment' to change her mind. I do think Penny will ultimately change her mind and my money is on it being badly handled in terms of the story, though that will probably only bug us who have followed the show closely for years and obsess over storylines lol.
  17. I'm absolutely 100% convinced they will have children, I think the story is totally set up for that conclusion. The writers think they have crafted this expertly made story with twists and turns and emotional rollercoasters when in reality nobody is or should be shocked when it's announced that Penny is pregnant in the finale or we see a time jump scenes (BTW the one hour finale of TBBT, well probably more like 40 minutes with adverts is perfect for showing us scenes or having dialogue that indicates what happened to these beloved characters down the line). I'm thinking actually I would prefer that the pregnancy reveal/they did had kids comes in say a time jump scene, for one it adds more of a surprise factor and two I think the chances of an 'in this time period Penny is pregnant' is likely going to be a shock pregnancy and with Penny pretty confident in her views on children and her desire for not wanting them I think a surprise is really not the way to go here. Overall the way I see it this episode has changed nothing as it stands, they are pretty much back to where they were earlier in the season. Penny doesn't want children and Leonard does but he is going to see if he can live without that to keep his marriage going. If this was real life for one it would have been explored more and openly talked about and two a lot of relationships could break down over this.
  18. Jonny

    Chuck Lorre

There will of course be pretty much a 50/50 split in terms of leaning left or right politically. Lorre can say whatever he wants especially in the land of free speech. Honestly I have never ever read a vanity card lol.
  19. One character manipulating the other instead of ‘talking it out’ is in the show’s dna and the writers have shown that if they can get comedy out of it that’s what they will do even going to the extent of ignoring what they have written previously. First thoughts would be that I would take the Amy trying to manipulate Sheldon into trying for a family with a pinch of salt for now, some wires could have been crossed on the set visit. But let’s say it’s true, well it seems like another dumb storyline in a dumb season. For one Sheldon from the evidence I have seen wouldn’t need to be convinced to start a family, in fact the prospect of ‘mixing their dna’ would seem pretty appealing. Of course I could see that changing during the course of a pregnancy, perhaps Sheldon worrying about impending fatherhood and a fear about having children being like him (I’ve always had it in my mind that would become a fear in him at some point, something Shamy would need to get through if they were expecting) but the actual decision to start a family? I don’t see how he would need to manipulated or encouraged for that. I also feel again it’s another old school take on a story. Amy did have to at times manipulate Sheldon to advance their relationship along even sometimes to get to a milestone. I don’t see why she would have to do that now they are married, kind of feels like the writers are really reaching here, trying to mine some old comedy vein even though they have really moved on and aren’t the same people.
  20. If you think it’s because of that and that’s how you feel then that’s fine. For me personally, all the ongoing storylines haven’t been interesting or have in my view been poorly crafted hence why I am not feeling it at all this season.
  21. It's between Bakersfield Expedition, Troll Manifestation and Veracity Elasticity for me. Those are the three episodes that if they were on tv I would just sit down on watch them every time they are on. Veracity Elasticity was the most recent of the three and probably the last time I was well and truly in awe of this show and the heights it hit creatively, in an acting sense and in its production.
  22. Seen the clips, I know nothing of their friendship or relationship dynamics but honestly, I don't believe they are that close as a cast these days. That's the vibe I was getting from it. Not sure I agree with that it was poorly written, certainly not when you compare it to the dross of this season.
  23. Better for them to actually talk it out and voice their concerns than have a parent getting involved, but yeah obviously this is a tv show and pussyfooting around topics for either dramatic effect, comedy or sweet and tender moments when they get to that point is what they do. Guest stars far too often these days have too big an impact on stories, you get that feeling that they alter stories far too much for their appearances. For a season that has limited time left, they have really dragged out this inevitable outcome. If the writers think people are going to be shocked or surprised at what happens then they are wrong.
  24. No, the gag was cheap and over the top but the actress should not be blamed at all for the material they are given. They have no real say in stories or gags, even Jim who if any actor had the power and status to have input in the show's stories it would be him. This 'perpetual' this character vs this character roundabout is tiresome, they all have flaws and they have all done incredibly shitty things to each other. Some moments we may laugh at and other times we may cringe or even be disgusted with them, but that's the show they don't always get it right on the comedy front. Not everything they do appeals to every single viewer.
  25. I was personally still getting a ton of enjoyment from the show right up to the end of Season 10, Season 11 for me was when I saw signs of the show really starting to show its age and creak, and that has been further on display from what I've watched of this season. None of the major storylines I find interesting right now, in fact Stuart/Denise/Stunice has in some ways been the only thing I have really enjoyed from this season and yes he's an established member of the cast but he's not a show driver so to speak.
