  1. Batman.

Watching a TBBT I was suddenly reminded of the original Batman.

Batman, with Adam West and Burt Ward, has to be one of the most original "absurd" stand out concepts.

As is TBBT. Both are genius.

All of (over 100) the Batmans are on DVD. I love 'em.

Nobody talks about BBT reruns? I'm still LOL from Monday, 2/15. There will always be something we missed.

Did anyone hear the new symptoms of ASPERGER SYNDROM on Public Radio last week? Something rumored about Sheldon?

If we all don't have it already, then we will all come down with it. It's from downloading too much unnecessary information and trying to remember it all. We are becoming a society of anti socials and introverts no longer to cope with flesh and blood beings

A funny example: We use the GPS on the car to take us home even though we have lived there for over 10 years.

It has occurred to me that I wouldn't be so critical of The Show if I hadn't joined in discussions. Perhaps, better just to enjoy.

  2. I checked out the first ep on You Tube. Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid.

I never went in for family sitcoms, Im more from the school of alternative comedy.

    Thanks for the reccomendation thought.

I dont know who plays the father but I see he hasnt changed a bit since "My Hero"

I never saw it, but it's Hugh Dennis. Pugh and and Dennis?

Not for me either; this (Outnumbered) is the only show in which I have been entertained by Hugh and crew.

  3. Earlier I made these comments about Show 14, should have been 15 !

Three minutes in and I was getting optimistic ( Bernadette was mentioned ), then "The Sheldon Story" broke; I didn't smile after that. No group banter, NOTHING FUNNY.

I thought Sheldon was someone without normal human emotion, yet he was as

petulant as a five year old denied access to his favourite toy.

Also, I'd like to see more inclusive and positive stories for Raj.

For me, the worst show so far. Sorry to say.

At this moment I'm half way through a Seinfeld, Series 06, show. Having ignored it originally, I rediscovered it last year.

Seinfeld is/was an ensemble show and, I haven't yet seen an exception, each show involves all of The Players exchanging convincingly funny lines.

It's consistently exceptionally funny. The BBT writers should learn from comedy History, and try harder because the BBT is in itself exceptional..

  5. I've just watched 09/ The Vengeance Formula, and I had a permanent smile on my face; then there are bursts of laughter. The least emotion I had was a broad smile. That's what TBBT does to you.

During some of the most recent shows I rarely burst into laughter; it's impossible not to smile.

  6. My concern is that more and more episodes seem to be "put the whacko character in a stressful situation and let him act out for a laugh". The really strong writing and ensemble acting seems to be lacking lately in favour of the high-brow equivalent of a fart joke. I found the ball pit thing so contrived as to be embarrassing and the scene with Howard and Raj at the roller rink to be enough to make me turn off the TV.

Don't get me wrong, there were some good laugh moment -- the reboot bit, Bernadette sending Sheldon off to bed, etc. But what happened to the overall brilliance of Work Song Nanocluster or Terminal Decoupling? Get Sheldon out of the ball pits and off the window ledges and put him back into the ensemble trading witty repartee where he belongs or this is going to go down as the season that killed the show.

    Steve

I agree, although I did enjoy the episode. The subtle interaction is being given up to wacky for wackiness sake.

As mad as he is, would Sheldon really behave like that.

  7. Mine's The Stranglers ... no choke!

:icon_lol: The Stranglers are a great band! :p

And a-ha are great, too, cytavares!

My favourite band is the Beatles :D

My favourite Revolver track is "Here There and Everywhere", a very

beautiful song, and only 2.20minutes long.

Have any, since The Beatles, put such quality into a short space.

  8. I won't be watching Avatar. I prefer a warm, human touch. Something that will most likely make me cry, or laugh.

Avatar may be something different and an advance, but not for me.

PS. The American Idol suckers; don't they know what's going on.

  9. (Er, what's a crawler? :icon_mrgreen::p)

And they really are - too fantastic for words! :D

Oh, nice! I love Help! But my favourite has to be Revolver, it has my 2 favuorite Beatle songs on it. :)

    A crawler could be a beetle!:icon_eek:

In the UK a "crawler" is someone who sucks up to someone else, like

    your boss at work.

I don't want to sound like a crawler :icon_mrgreen:, but The Beatles are incomparable.

It's difficult to choose, but I think that HELP may be my favourite album.

  11. I don't know if it's different anywhere else(it shouldn't be), but in the UK I think that we would call this an "ensemble piece".

All the actors are equally important; yes we have our favourites, but "The Whole"

is not the same if any of the constituent parts are missing.

    PENNY!

    :icon_mrgreen:

  12. I thought that this was back to the very best; everyone bouncing lines off each

    other.

... Assorted Video Games/Leonard and Penny, Leonard and Penny/Who's There/

    It's Scary Over There/Star Wars?/Sorry Enid.

    BRILLIANT.
