  1. Well perhaps the Wallablacks will win the world cup then LOL But back on topic, sort of, I think Pomita has put it rather well with Sheldon never having been particularly mature, but I do agree with what a lot of people say about him being portrayed as childish so far this season. That's childish in a not-so-good way, as opposed to his more child-like innocence of earlier seasons.
  2. I think it's sad when people (good or bad or otherwise) are set up as gods and worshipped as such. It's OK to have heroes and role-models but let's get things in perspective. When Michael Jackson died, it was just downright crazy.
  3. Well, I shall look forward to seeing this one. Won't be for at least a few days, unfortunately.
  4. Well I for one was NOT one of those people! Too much Sheldon? Impossible. And Netmouse: we have Mo-vember here, usually to raise money for prostate cancer awareness. I LOLed when I read your comment about your ex-wife. :D By the way, my team is playing your team tomorrow night... think we'll still be friends afterwards?
  5. ..And voila, we get a good Leonard/Sheldon episode. When? (I've only watched the first 4 episodes of Season 5 so far).
  6. I'll bet that a 50 year old Sheldon wouldn't look a lot different to the Sheldon of today!
  7. But you surely agree that the Sheldon from the unaired pilot was a completely different character. Completely and utterly. Not Sheldon-like enough for me! :D:D:D
  8. So far during Season 5, it's about neither...
  9. I love that one so much, I downloaded it from YouTube so I can watch it any time. :D:D:D
  10. So far this season has (in my opinion) been centred around Raj, Howard and the girls (excluding Penny). Basically the opposite of what it's always been. Leonard and Sheldon have been the support characters (and Penny too) with Amy, Bernadette, Howard and Raj getting the limelight. The science geek humour is much less than it used to be. Shame. And Sheldon (when we see him on screen, which hasn't been that much of late) is turning into a big kid. I'm sure if someone sat in his spot on the couch, or ordered Chinese on pizza night, he wouldn't bat an eyelid. He'd probably just roll the dice and go with the flow. I thought the episode had some funny moments, the best scene being the opening one as others have already mentioned. But everything seems to be mixed up and not part of the winning formula that it used to be. Meh.
  11. I agree with you there, Pomita. That smile could melt an iceberg. (Sorry, trying to sound poetic, didn't come across as such...) That's something that Jim and I have in common: our first job was in a bank. :D:D:D
  12. No, I definitely mean Rose and the Doctor. But I do love River and her interactions with the 11th Doctor are great. "Hello, Sweetie!" But the lovey dovey feelings are pretty much one-way. River is in love with the Doctor, but I don't think he fancies her in the same way. But the bond they share is unique.
  13. I liked that page a while ago. It's good, but I don't go on Facebook that often. Tend to waste too much time there.
  14. Awesome! I might even share some of these with my husband. Or perhaps only one...if I win...
  15. @netmouse: don't you ever go outside to play? :D:D:D
  16. Funny, I was thinking the same thing... I thought the ep was pretty good, but not as good as it could have been. There was not enough Sheldon and what we had was too childish. Don't get me wrong, I think model trains are great - I know nothing about them, but they're fascinating. I know a guy who can make scenery for his trains out of all sorts of discarded junk and they look great! Anyway, I digress. Sheldon acted very much like a petulant little boy, although I did like the comment about Leonard being better than james bond and the karate chop on Leonard at the end. Could he be a little jealous??? And while there was bugger all in the way of Sheldon, poor Raj got stuck out in the cold, dialogue-wise. I don't think it's right to practically cut out a core cast member to give so much screen time to two "minor" characters (Amy and Bernie). The whole ep seemed to revolve around those two. Reminds me of the time I watched an episode of MacGyver when Richard Dean Anderson didn't make an appearance. Everything felt quite disconnected, like a series of separate skits that were tagged end to end.
  17. Wow, I had no idea Simon was married.
  18. And BBT's one of the best of them. Ditto!
  19. I think Pomita has put it very well. At first i didn't like her (she got up my nose) because she was trying to be a female Sheldon, but I love her trying so hard to be one of the girls. FYI, I didn't really like the toothbrush comment either.
  20. Granted! But now you have been awake for seven days and are suffering mass delusions of the paranoid kind. I wish I had more work to do (it's a little quiet in the office at the mo)
  21. Sorry to be a dufus, but what does syndication mean? Is it like with MASH, Friends, Fresh Prince et al where they repeat it every weeknight over and over?
  22. I've seen the clip on YouTube (haven't seen the film). He looked soooo hot!
