  1. I am with you there Matt IT Crowd, finished after 4 Series AND they will have an hour long Xmas special to wrap it all up Black Adder Fawlty Towers Extras The Office (UK) and the latter shows exactly what happens in UK and American TV The British UK will become an all time classic TV Series, while the U.S. Office was grasping at straws by season 4 I tend to like than dislike U.S. TV shows by the 4th season anyway...with the Big Bang Theory is was more due to the 4th season finale but it was still getting a bit stale in the middle I would love a network exec that says...we will have one show on for a set period and then another series, so each series has 12 episodes That way it stays fresh, you might get cheaper, more creative people in the process, etc. But it wont happen, it is about $$$
  2. Everyone except Simon Hedberg was a one joke character tonight But he really sold it despite having the most uncreative diatribe "Made me a better man" I did laugh once this episode, I believe that is the 2nd laugh since season 4. A dog's hindquarters and the sun come into play. On a site note, I am amazed that it took until page 20 (don't know skipped alot of pages) to actually talk about the episode itself...
  3. The workings of the open mind are a beautiful thing. Please cite a study that states sitcom viewers are smarter than average. I would view a study from the entertainment industry about how they target their viewers with the same suspicion with which I would view a study about the health risks of cigarette smoking paid for by the smoking industry. Facts have been stated. Sources given. They have been ignored. http://www.ugo.com/tv/11-reasons-geeks-hate-the-big-bang-theory http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ViewersAreMorons As far as the Onion article, I will use a Sheldon quote " It's funny... because it's true." And finally, one more: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FanDumb The thing that perplexes me is that how an opinion that the show is not as smart and funny as it once was can somehow be twisted into "You are calling me stupid!" That's not true. There's every chance y'all won't fall into the general demographic. I'm pulling for y'all. Great links Disgusted Th eline from Mr. jensen "it's a superficial take on a very deep culture" is spot on and you.I and 4ofN have stated how Lorre has treated women as objects and nothing more and his comparison to BBT and family guy...wow. I didn't connect it since I watched 3 episodes of family guy and had to wash my brain, but I concur, endless references to nostaglia isn;t comedy, it's lazy And bringing up IT Crowd and Community as true geek shows...the man is inside my head but has superior writing skills than me. Anyway, I have no problem with the "Toxic genius with a mix of misguided champions" that now rule these boards. I say my piece, backed by facts and get swarmed by the SS of Lorreizm. That is fine, I have stated that the show has passed upon it's 1st 3 seasons of excellence and become something 'different' I mean, even if one doesn;t accept all my statements on how it has sent a precendent on how a show went from brillant to crap in one season, can they look at posts last year and now and see...99% of the posters HAVE CHANGED? That says more than I could I am glad people like it, I hope they get whatever it is they want out of it...but it had the promise to be something important and a cult classic like Mystery Science Theater 3000 and it went commercial and horrible...and did so w/o most of the writers or a star leaving (which is how most shows start a decline and flame out) That is disappointing but not the end of the world. Lorre and Prady like money and sold a product to get the most $$$ they could...90% of the world does that...no harm, no foul
  4. Please stop..the cliche of attacking the person and not the point is as old to the internet as evolution. I will do what I want, say what I want about whatever I want. That is my inalienable right...it is also your right to pay me no mind, or we can have a tete et tete ad naseum. Friends was a dredge of a show using outdated comedic cliches an dteh 80's standup comedian "Know what's funny about guys/gals?" The statistics about overweight middle aged women being the main TV demographic is statistical fact by Neilsen It's not just that, it's a low and dastardly plot by the stupid audience to make the life of the few select smarty pants absolutely miserable. The audience could try to improve themselves and become less stupid, but instead they are dragging the show down to their lowly level. It's an evil plot, I tell you! The audience is in league with the writers, and their goal is to torture the brilliant intelligence of those few geniuses who used to enjoy the early TBBT for all the right reasons, such as absence of relationships or lack of focus on the human aspect of the story. Sarcasm, the fool's attempt at humor and courage rolled into one and succeeds at neither. Stupid people outweigh smart people overall, that is statistically proven, so even with your attempt at being witty, you actually proved why Big Bang Theory has become immensely popular
  5. Ok think about the show Lacking creativity, milking cheap laughs for money Leonard will awkwardly propose and Penny will accept after running away at first
  6. Not immensely horrible but nothing to write home about
  7. a stereotypical internet forum misdirection to 'lighten up' when you cannot refute facts WITH facts. This show has hit the crapper and if you expect all of us to deal with it and not express our opinions that shows what your mentality is of differing viewpoints. The "Shout it down until "I" am comfortable" facism
  8. So why don't you write to the creators of the show and ask them to mention science or nerd stuff more often. Science was never the focus of the show, but it was always an important element of the story. Here's a suggestion - if having that element made more prominent is important to you, then do something about it, instead of insulting the rest of the viewers (this is aimed equally at you and @Disgusted). So axiomatically incorrect I don't know where to start but "science and nerd stuff?" Oh how far you've fallen in the demo pool BBT Incorrect, the 'cult classics' had mediocre ratings, never sold out and still live on Community will be that way, people will talk about that show 10 years after Big Bang Theory goes the way of Cheers Mystery Science Theater 3000...had good luck and HBO Execs who took a risk, STILL big today Seinfeld/CURB ---never catered to LCD etc etc Big Bang Theory has just become a forgottebn sitcom like Friends
  9. hehehe...hey i replied to your PM, sorry it took me so long
  10. Horrible Thank goodness a show like Community can hold on to its slot to compete with the slop this show has become. It's clear David Goetsch, Lee Aronshon and Richard Rosenstock were the good writers, although the episodes that were average this season had Erick Kaplan on the teleplay. Maria Ferreri and Jim Reynolds need to go away I also see that this site has become 80% women, while the 'other' board is 99% women showing exactly what they wanted to do with this cash cow...start off truly geeky, get the internet a buzz, keep on saying geek is the new sexy and pull in the golden goose of TV show demographics. slightly overweight average middle aged women who made crap like friends, glee, american idol and watching celebrities dance big money winners. Not to take anything away from that demographic, as average fat guys watch Family Guy...a horrible show IMHO. Both Lorre and Prady are smart, and all they had to sacrifice is the hope of geeky men who had hope for a show of their own to put us in a better light, which it did the 1st 3 seasons...then it started making fun of us for cheap laughs, therefore we retreated back to internet meme and internet podcasts/videos where we can find humor.
  11. really I thought it was Setllers of Caan they might be playing

Ummm, you could try sleeping with the producer, or one of the male leads, I hear that helps open the door. OUCH!
  13. I read it because I wondered if I should waste my time 3 lesbian jokes at Penny 3 boner jokes not a laugh in the whole thing
  14. Most of the shows I watch are done for me after season 5...so BBT is no different. American shows have too many episodes and not a lot creativity. They rehash writers. I love BBC shows, as they know when to quit. Even the IT Crowd, now in its 5th Series (6 episodes each) is still funny Only show that broke that mold for me MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 A show that had the timing right on all parts, that HBO knew Josh Hodgson, that Comedy Central was starting up and thought a 2 hour show would be great filler...and it turned out to be one of the best shows that ever graced TV If you don't think so watch this http://www.thisblogrules.com/2011/09/the-ten-best-moments-in-mst3k-history.html Many episodes are on YOUTUBE, and I implore you to watch these Space Mutiny Pod People Hobgoblins Prince of Space Gamara Fugitive Alien my favorites As for that graph, seems to me mid season 1 is where things will fall in place, season 2 is the one with classic episodes, season 3 they get comfortable, Season 4 has a few fillers in there and then SYNDICATION. After that, laziness
  15. You know, I cannot recall a single episode...not good
  16. Well, it is just me and my son, he goes to his Mother's because we don't celebrate Xmas. He doesn't like it but I tell him it's for his mom. I am involved in Buddhist Philosophy (it's not a religion only a small % practice it as such) and do not believe in the Christian belief. I save a lot of money as well as finding more peace with the more blunt Buddhist look on life and spirtuality. I do watch two weird movies on Xmas though Both are Mystery Science 3000 Theater riffs Santa Claus vs the Martians Santa Claus (a mexican movie)
  17. That's an Ima original...Master Seriphoth follows my Twitter, he knows lol
  18. The Night Santa Went Crazy "and he picked up a flamethrower and BBQ'd Blitzen, he took a big bite and said, "It tastes just like chicken."
  19. smart in a sinister way
  20. CERN scientists find signs of Higgs boson, the missing link of particle physics, but stop short of claiming discovery I lost the link, but it was on Reuters. EDIT: Here is the webcast of scientific history http://webcast.web.cern.ch/webcast/ This is an amazing discovery in the world of physics, and I bet our once favored show will probably never mention it
  21. I will just come out and ask you to marry me right now Beecharmer In all seriousness, what field are you in?
  22. Please put spoiler alert before posting the whole episode in text form...a nice synopsis is nice, and I think most people knwo they can go to Fan Forum to ruin the episode before seeing it
  23. http://www.fanforum.com/f312/episode-5-11-speckerman-recurrence-12-08-11-a-63032864/ Look at that total opposite viwpoint from the ladies at Fan Forum...it almost made me ill. You can see none of them have a problem with the lesbian jokes, because they all make them too! It's hilariously funny...really? It's a girl crush? I know of no women that would sit there deadpan and say I was looking forawrd to being your cellmate in a creepy fashion that caused her friend to grimace. All of them think this episode was GREAT...and Sheldon actually liked Leonard...really? They forgot to notice he was ripping Leonard? And this was a great stance against bullying...did they not see that the bully's (Jimmy AND Penny) WON?? It is apparent non of those ladies were bullied in HS That is the demographic Big Bang is catering to...the lovey dovey .avis and every other post is who wants who and love,love,love...our former resident everything is great with the world Pomita quickly went over there to profess her Jim Parsons love...I mean, dammit. This show jumped the shark, and I was delusional to think maybe it was not so...much like Happy Day fans tried to cling to the hope that Fonzi really didn't waterski over a shark in the cheesiest scene in TV history Sorry, this show is lost, and it is apropo that the last episode I will probably ever watch is a perfect metaphor on how this show was bullied away from the geeks and nerds who made it what it was and turned it into a maninstream lazy bitter 'romantic comedy' for the nincompoop average TV viewer Oh well, I can always setup Minecraft servers, check out new VPN servers or betatest some software applications on Thursday
  24. Netmouse, you are easily satisfied...I am with 4ofN (like that is a surprise) and a refreshing take from a woman viewer in Beech's excellent post that saved me 5 paragraphs of rant. 2 lesbian jokes, mocking geeks in a bullying episode, Sheldon BULLYING Leonard in hypocrisy numero uno, and Penny now having another bad trait to make her unsympathetic...plus no Howard and another lazy gay reference with Raj. A comedy is supposed to be funny....this episode wasnt't and surprise #1 in its time slot I weep for America, pretty soon Idiocracy will be truth and we will have the 'batin' channel and Oww my balls as the most popular shows and smeghead that "I only have to outrun you" joke is as old as Take my wife...please. Shows the lack of creativity on this show now... Oh well, I still have Mystery Science Theater 3000 (a show that is A+ creative and was funny for 10+ years...and wouldn't see the light of day in this day and age) old BBC shows, Modern Family, Grimm and Community Seems shows in America can only last 4 seasons before dying...maybe there are too many episodes?
  25. Imapotato

Nah, Remember that actors have an exterior motive for their life...others must love them for them to have meaning in their life. Or all that mumble jumble Leonard's mom said to Penny in that one episode Actors are superficial...George Clooney will lambast Charles Heston, for being a NRA member and Republican, then shoot 3 movies where he uses a weapon... Rosies O'Donnell will say anyone with a gun should be arrested, then her bodyguard gets one when her fat foot goes in her mouth and she gets threats
