I agree with everything you said, maybe we know now why Leonard couldn't get a girl all these years, he has his perfect dream girl in Penny but realizes she doesn't fit in his box he has her in and what's with him wanting his girlfriend to have the exact same interests as him if he wants that then he's going to be dating less hot, I don't know why that Penny believes in psychics is that shocking when she first met him and Sheldon she tells them she believes in astrology.

I totally agree with you too many people on here just brush it off or try to downplay it, what made me so upset is there really was no reason for it, they said he was being difficult did they just met him? A scientist having trouble believing that someone actually believes in astrology is not being a douche, he's being a man of science and reason. If it offends someone like Penny that much she could always stop going over to Leonard and Sheldon's apartment. It was a break through and it was meant to be seen as that, I believe. Penny isn't going to let go of Leonard anymore (thanks to her emotional train wreak in Season 4) but that does not mean smooth sailing for Leonard. He's got to deal with her fears up close and personal in Season 6. Yeah Leonard needs to stop running away or thinking it's about him when dealing with Penny.

Sheldon is polarizing, if anything. Another reason Penny wouldn't date him - he'd be thrilled this thread was 50 pages and personally create 20 accounts so he could get it up to 100 pages immediately. As sick as it may be Leonard's mother might be better for Sheldon than Amy. In season 4 Amy was just like Sheldon. This isn't sick, this is The Big Bang Theory. Obviously the title of the show has several meanings. One is that the word "Big" refers to "grownups" and this obviously implies that the idea of inter-generational relationships was "canon" from the shows inception. After all, just imagine the humour and character growth that would happen if Sheldon took on the role of Leonard’s father. Frankly the possibility had never occurred to me and Sheldon does seem to almost worship Leonard's mother. I have to admit that there could be some very humorous scenes if Sheldon was Leonard's step father. That's one father and son talk that I would like to see. Its just that since the writers did Raj / Penny, they could do anything regardless of rationality, consistency, or concern for the burden on the characters futures. Thats what annoys me about Amy hitting on Penny. It used to be that you would never consider that they would actually put Penny and Amy together. Now, who knows, Penny / Sheldon? Raj / Bernadette? I'm NOT comparing two shows at all. I'm compairing two SITUATIONS to refute the argument that "TV show creaters never (ever, evah, LOL) change their minds, or lie to the fans, or do something which they previously promised they will not do". The two SITUATIONS - creators saying "this will never happen" and actors saying "ewwww" - are IDENTICAL. Actually, the "disgust" and denials were much more vocal from the creators of Buffy than anything we've ever heard from the creators of TBBT. So my point stands. When it comes to TV shows, Never. Say. Never. :icon_lol: Of course never say never. Maybe the writers will go back on what they say, maybe the show will bomb and they'll be desparate enough. My issue with the shennys is they seem to care about little else. I totally disagree I care about more than this. I have no issue with l/p even though their relationship is flawed until they overcome their issues or move on. I care about wheter Penny will get a last name as well as if she stays a waitress the whole time. Will Raj overcome his mutism, will Amy continue lesbian comments at Penny? Among others.
