  1. I find this attitude very interesting. You are sitting there with your wife, in the comfort of your home and a committed loving relationship, and jointly wishing on these characters a lifetime of singlehood, frustration and loneliness. I mean, how dare they get married? The horror! Psst - THEY'RE NOT REAL! They're characters in a TV show whose sole purpose is to be funny. There have been thousands of romantic relationship shows. Why did they have to turn a unique comedy series into just another dime-a-dozen Ross/Rachel chickfest? I find this attitude very interesting. You are sitting there with your wife, in the comfort of your home and a committed loving relationship, and jointly wishing on these characters a lifetime of singlehood, frustration and loneliness. I mean, how dare they get married? The horror! Lol. That's funny that a married person is complaining about a character getting married, normally the person is single with no love life doing that. Disgusted no last week's episode was last weeks episode not the finale. CBS has the two broke girls and how I met your mother as a hour finale, Also there was two new episodes back to back to start the season off. I'm not complaining about Howard getting married. He's a supporting character. It's the Sheldon/Amy relationship that threatens the core of the show.
  2. They've ruined a great show. But awwwwwwwwww, wasn't it so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute that everyone is in looooooooooooooooove? I'm sure the show will continue to get great ratings but it's no longer unique. They've sold out. And before the estrogen crowd starts throwing their purses at me, the second the show ended my wife turned to me and said - "They've ruined it."
  3. I wasn't talking about ratings. What made TBBT so refreshing was that it wasn't obsessed with sex like "Friends" and so many other sitcoms. They dabbled with it but it didn't dominate the show. It seems like many posters out here want to change it from a rare intelligent sitcom into "Friends" or "Two and a Half Men". Sheldon was the last holdout but they seem intent on ruining him and the show. It was great while it lasted. Just my opinion. Let the Shamys, Shennys and Lennys attacks begin!
  4. Totally agree great character interaction although opinions do vary around here..Best part is on a really quiet night if you whisper "Shenny" you can hear blood boil around the world Or mention that you don't like Shamy and watch people burst into flames.
  5. Yeah, let's just keep turning the show into "Friends" until it becomes unwatchable.
  6. I just don't understand the interest in Sheldon and Penny as a couple. I like the way they interact but I don't sense anything romantic between them.
  7. Don't know what they'd call it but I hope it gets its looks from the father.
  8. They all wake up and realize that Season 5 was just a bad, unfunny dream. "Fun with Flags" was a nightmare.
  9. What a surprise to see cbolt insulting and fighting with a whole new bunch of those who dare to disagree with him. I sense a pattern.
  10. Sadly, that's the response you're going to get from cbolt whenever you express an opinion he doesn't like. Maybe you just should shut up and stop watching the show:-)
  11. I like the way Sheldon and Penny interact but I don't want to see them as a couple. Sheldon should have no love interest other than science. Unfortunately the writers seem to disagree.
  12. Wow, I'm scared. But whether you like it or not I'll keep posting my opinions. If you don't like them, too bad. Move on buddy.
  13. Wow, that's quite an ASSumption on your part. Why does it trouble you so much that many, many people think the show is going downhill and isn't as funny? Is it that you just can't stand it when people express opinions that you disagree with? When we say the show isn't as funny anymore it's because we really believe that the show isn't as funny anymore. It's our opinion. Deal with it. What a MORONic thing to say, for one the complainers are obviously a very small percentage if you look at the ratings and I can understand if someone doesn't like this episode or that one but it's becoming a let's bitch about TBBT all I'm saying if it troubles anyone where the show is going in their opinion then why are they still watching it anymore if it displeases them that much. So those who are troubled with where the show is going should just shut up and stop watching? That's really your response? The show hasn't reached the point yet (as it did with Two and a Half Men) that I'm going to stop watching it. It's because we like the show that we're concerned with where it's going and are voicing our opinion. Why is that so hard for you to grasp. Should criticism of the show be banned on this forum? If you don't like to read opinions you disagree with maybe it's you who should leave. Grow up. Maybe I should go slower you're not grasping it, as for the comment about two and a half men judging by some comments I would think it has, now I'm not saying to sit and do nothing if you're that "concerned" mail chuck or bill a letter, it's just the complaints are from the same people about how the show isn't the same( for one what show isn't different from season 1 to 5), they might as well just copy and paste the same comments, there's one thing to voice your concerns but all a forum is is to vent to, now the show is evolving now some may accept it and enjoy while others can put their heads in the ground, but it's happening so people must not be that upset to continue to watch. And those who like how the show is changing are the same people, they might as well just copy and paste the same comments. Same principle except I'm not telling those people to shut up and leave. If you dont like my opinions, don't read them. Pretty simple for adults to handle.

  16. "Stop watching or quit complaining". Sounds like a demand. You must have a different definition. What do you call it? They have as much right here to post their opinions as you do. Nobody makes you read it or reply. But you have no right to tell them to stop posting their thoughts or opinions. Isn't the purpose of this forum to express our opinions? For one I like the show pre Amy and two I'm not a big Amy fan so if she left I wouldn't notice and if someone is that upset coming on here isn't going to change the show it's not like the Producers come on here and if the person is that upset with the show send a letter or send a tweet and if the show isn't going where you like then find a new show to watch, but if I felt half as some people on here do I'd stop watching. Commas are our friends.

  18. I agree with you but the "change" people outnumber us. I guess they want another "Friends".
  19. I agree. I liked her when she and Sheldon were mirror images of each other. Since then she's gotten very creepy with her comments to Penny. But the writers like Mayim Bialik and they're overusing her character.
  20. A good suggestion. Maybe the 'Sheldon evolution' has been too fast for a fair section of the audience, in recent episodes? This is very true. As I've mentioned elsewhere, The strongest points I see right now in favor of some degree of change are - a) it may be easier for the writers that way to think of new and fresh storylines, not just rehashes of earlier episodes (as we saw from Bus Pants and Wiggly Finger, such rehashes don't work too well). And the actors, especially Jim, seem to be happy with the change. He obviously enjoys playing his scenes with Mayim, and it shows. I feel it would harm the show if he lost interest and just went through the motions playing 'old Sheldon', and that's a definite possibility. Of course, one can say it will also harm the show if Sheldon is played in a 'new' way that consistently disappoints and alienates most viewers. But we can't say that for sure yet. We don't yet know how far, and in what ways, they are going to carry forward the humanizing aspect. Ideally there needs to be a balance between 'new' and 'old' Sheldon, and I'm curious to see how (or if) they manage to keep that balance. This is why most sitcoms diminish the longer they run. The writers and actors get bored with doing the same old stuff so they make changes which move away from what made the show successful in the first place. Very few sitcoms avoid that fate.
  21. You completely missed my point - these are not real people, they are characters in a TV show. OCD and uncaring, childlike, arrogant and rude Sheldon is funny. Humanistic, socially acceptable personality, growing towards other people, happy Sheldon is NOT funny. Nerds interacting with regular people is funny. Nerds becoming regular people is NOT funny. And the point of a sitcom is to be funny, not to be a feel-good journey of growth. That undermines the basis of what made the show successful. I liked the first seasons of the show. I don't care for the current version because it's not funny anymore. I guess we have different expectations from the show. Just my opinion.
  22. I agree with you. It eventually happens to most sitcoms. I think the writers got bored with the original Sheldon and are trying to change and "humanize" him by giving him a girlfriend, among other things. That might be fine if he was an actual human being but he's not, he's a character in a TV show and the changed version just isn't funny. I hope they realize their mistake before irreversible damage is done to the character. But there are a lot of people out here who actually like the new Sheldon. I just don't get it.
  23. Leonard, Raj and especially Sheldon came across as very unfunny and unlikable in this episode. My wife and I looked at each after the episode and said "That wasn't very good". We usually watch one of the season 1-4 reruns every night and it's striking how far the show has fallen this season. Sheldon has been absolutely awful and unfunny and he IS the show. If the show had started out like this I wouldn't be watching it anymore. They seem to have lost the "magic" that made it so entertaining.
  24. I really liked Howard in this one. But the downward spiral of Sheldon continues. He's turned into a boring, unfunny goofball.
