According to Sheldon it was installed in 2012.  Just start counting the seasons backwards :icon_biggrin:

Except he didn't get Aquaman until September 2013, S7E02, The Deception Verification. TPTB strike again.

And therein lies the problem. Plus he only invited people He wanted.

Sheldon: "Yeah, there’s Fisherman’s Wharf and Alcatraz and cable cars. We’re gonna have so much fun".

yeah! A really great wedding present where the GTB includes himself.

He clearly had his eyes closed when he tried to help her with the top which is what we actually saw. We didn't see him peeking at her butt where her tattoo would be - presumably that happened when she had her back turned to him for a moment.

Yeah! Another of "those" off screen moments that they're good at.

Sheldon had his eyes closed as per her instructions. I sure would hope that a doctor wouldn't treat a patient by fumbling around with closed eyes, subsequently any boob groping by a doctor would be intentional.

But as he says later "He peeked" when asking about her tattoo, so his eyes weren't that closed.

There was no indication of a breakup prior to the episode, unless you want to count all the fighting they did.  You know, like all the fighting they have now.

I seem to remember in interviews with the cast and writers after the fact was that it was basically Lorre came in with the script and all the writers were "We're breaking them up!" And that's why I don't trust him.

He gave her permission after Penny already redecorated the room ans she was hiding his nerd thing before that

No she didn't. She hid his collectibles but didn't redecorate until after Leonard gave her the go ahead to do so, in the bedroom, just after she told him he may feel some discomfort from where the Pink Ranger was going to be put

In culinary context cucumbers are called a vegetable. It's not wrong cause words can have more than one meaning

Culinarily they may be used as vegetables but they are still a fruit, cucumber is of the family cucumis sativus which is a subdivision of the genus cucumis (melon).  I don't want an exposition, I just want them to quote the science correctly.

  9. 6 minutes ago, Stephen Hawking said:

This isn't the first time they've had the characters get confused between fruit and vegetable, which isn't believable given that, out 7 main characters, five are scientists, of which two are biologists.

Yep! As far back as S1E04 we had Sheldon giving a factoid on why "Tomatoes are shelved with vegetables even though technically they are a fruit"

....... The last episode was a good example.  If we ignore the weird 30 second Shamy kiss, there were 2 minutes of cucumber drink...

And the Bessewisser scientist wasting that time getting it wrong. Scientifically and Botanically cucumber being a fruit not a vegetable. Develops from a flower and has seeds on the inside.

I read the TR, read the pre-broadcast comments in the forum and now have read the comments of those who have seen the episode so let me take stock.

Lovey dovey Shamy and fighting Lenny - check

Penny getting pissed about something she has no right to and storming off - check

    Grovelling Leonard - check

    Lenny RA - check

ANOTHER 'dramatic arc" for Lenny leading to some ambiguous future payoff - check

My apologies to the ladies but.. Fuck that!

It's simple I am the consumer a business gives me what I want/enjoy and they get my money/time in return if they don't deliver they don't get paid/watched. I have no stomach for more useless Lenny drama in what is supposedly a comedy. Since I allready fast forward most of the episodes lately due to Sheldon overload and Howardette's Raj contamination the decision not to watch is pretty easy.

I will go back to watching when this "comedy" remembers to be light and funny again till then I will pass

Interestingly at this point, a BBC series "Not Going Out" S8E1 had a lack of romance story on it after 3 kids and 8 years of marriage, aired this week and previous season had them getting married at the finale  They managed to have arguments on the show all the way through but was very funny with it. The show isn't everyone's cup of tea but it showed what can be done with clever writing. It's beginning to seem like it's the writers on the show that are "phoning it in"

Amazingly they were attempting to make a turkey dinner. How it turned out I don't think we found out. Sounds like a bit much for Penny who made crunchy spaghetti before.

After having cooked spaghetti with a little hotdog cut up in it for Sheldon the fastidious, which he enjoyed.  Another joke from left field I believe.

Sheldon is going to be typical Sheldon sometimes.  He has changed,  not gotten a lobotomy .

I wouldn't even wish that on him, unless it was anaesthetising the Broca region. The general effect of that would be most pleasing for a while.

Oh I love the tiara scene but let's face it, Sheldon did that so Amy wouldn't be mad any more. She loved it, I know that, but was it romantic? I don't know if I would consider it romantic.

It was all the eulogising about the gifts and their meanings and responses, that was one of Amy's most expressive responses ever and everyone seemed to have bypassed it. Romantic or not I think you can safely say she loved receiving a piece of jewellery.

I love coming on to this forum in the morning and seeing what is being debated next. Yesterday it was kisses today it is gifts. I like this one so I will weigh in my opinion. I actually loved the snowflake and the star necklace. They may have been cliché but they were romantically them. I know I would have loved gifts like that from my husband/boyfriend.

I liked the MRI and yes Sheldon could have gotten that any time he wanted and the others will never go to the North Pole or space again which makes their gifts more unique, I agree.

To be honest I thought his gift of making Amy his emergency contact was more romantic because he wanted her to be the first one contacted in case of emergency, not Leonard or Penny or his mom or meemaw(yes I know they are in Texas) but Amy. Granted I know at the end of that episode he was calling for her in non-emergencies but still I think it is more romantic than the MRI. Do I believe him when he says he was thinking about her when it lit up, of course because we all know how bad a liar Sheldon is and I do think Amy thought it was romantic so that is all that matters really.

Do I think she would find a stick that Sheldon picked up in the backyard and gave to her romantic absolutely not. She hated the mushroom log and we all know that.

I find it interesting that no one has mentioned (I believe)  the Tiara, a trinket that Amy thoroughly loved. The afternoon tea when all three of them are wearing their SO's trinkets in the hotel is still a favourite situation.

As far as I know it can't get worse over time, but there are days where it's better or worse. Depends on the time of the year. But it's definitely not the kind of disease that slowly kills you. It's just there and you have to live with it. For example, for some people it's a lot better in winter because most allergies are gone, but for some it's worse because the cold air makes breathing a lot more difficult and that's what triggers their asthma.

As for Leonard, I think they're just exaggerating a little too much. :icon_cheesygrin:

    My post from discussion thread

t's difficult, it can be hereditary which I think it's supposed to be in Leonard's case, or can be triggered by exposure to certain influences, pollens, tobacco smoke, or in my case chemicals ((specifically) isocyanates, later in life.  some who are born with it can lose sensitivity to the triggers so it gets easier, but there is always a risk as specifically it's inflammation of the air ways that causes them to constrict thus difficulty breathing. Mine is well managed by a twice daily Preventer inhaler but I do have to carry the Reliever with me at all times, in fact I have them dotted around everywhere in the house, plus one on my person, one my car, one in my wife's car and bag.

This is probably why I relate to Leonard so much, it's relatively accurate, even his counting (should be 10 seconds). Works immediately but gets better over the next 20 to 30 minutes.  Yep in Recombination their 25 - 30 minutes was relevant.

Actualy it's this kind of accuracy on these things that I liked about the show, which is why inconsistencies irk me so much nowadays.

It normally doesn't get worse but  it can make simple chest infections very serious as you already have lung issues, 39 years on inhalers, believe me you plan a lot round those little cannisters

Don't sorry. I was apprently wrong about my opinion. I need to apologize. But I wasn't to suppose to say he can heal by it, though I have heard from some people who had some asthma they actually grew over it. A human body still has many mystifications and secrets. There will be some degrees in the disease, I think. But can you tell, is there other than medication, anything you can't do to influence the symptoms? So, not healing, but maybe that the symptoms can be better under control?

I have said it in this evenings episode thread, but write it again: I liked tonight´s episode. I really laughed a lot with the Shamy and Howardette. And my Lenny´s, well Penny was on fire with her one liners. I loved it. And I really understand her future complaints about Leonards lack of efforts to keep the passion going on. C`m on man, do a little sports, so you don´t need the inhaler before sex. Everyone knows you can do something against asthma: yoga, sports, relaxation programs, breathing exercises.  I still don´t know if an agreement is needed. But I remember that Sheldon did mention earlier on a sideline in season 8 that Penny tries more to stay attractive in their relationship than Leonard does. Maybe all those other mentioned lines (how come you don´t eat broccoli and the answer of Leonard) together it does makes sense, Penny is unsatisfied. Anyhow to me it was a great episode. And that crying was an outstanding tribute to Ms. Wolowitz. First time since a  long time I almost peed of laughing.

Sorry, I suffer from asthma and none of those things help. It is a Chronic disease that has to be managed by medicines to prevent serious consequences. Leonerd will be taking a dose of a preventer inhaler every day to ease inflammation of the airways, the inhaler he uses with Penny will be a reliever and it's a good idea to use it before any physical exercise, having a full on asthma attack during sex would be even more of a turn off.

The writers often do cock things up, but on this one it mirrors my own situation too closely for comfort, in fact if my wife throws me my salbutamol inhaler I know it's my lucky night.

The three I suggested remind me of Sheldon and sometimes Amy. Only one of the characters is a grumpy old man. That's Victor but his neighbour is a grumpy young one, even more like Sheldon. I thought since you'd been a TBBT fan you might like them. I'm sure the TBBT writers sometimes borrow the scripts to look for ideas. Hot in Cleveland, Nurse Jackie, Joey and Frasier are the only US sitcoms I've seen and none of those are BBT-ish so I didn't mention them. I like those you mention except Milligan, but nothing before 1957  feels like a classic to me. :) Have you seen Lillyhammer ?

Not Seen it, my favourite US was Cheers, The Spike Milligan Q series I watched was in the seventies.  The British sitcoms I named I loved was because like TBBT they were an ensemble which they never lost with the main cast, which is why I've lost patience with this group, I have better things to do. Still love L/P but it's not worth watching anymore unless you like the GTB.

As a substitute I can recommend some old BBC series : One Foot in the Grave and Ever Decreasing Circles plus Last of the Summer Wine which is gentler.

Seen 'em all and I'm taking this as an attack as most of those involve grumpy old men. Seeing as I'm British I'm very familiar with all British comedy and If I want laughs I'll go for the classics of Dads Army, Allo! Allo!, Are you being Served or some Python/Fawlty Towers/Milligan.
