  1. Agreed. They had kind of a Lucy and Ricky Ricardo thing going on that episode. Mayim was great in the screwball role.
  2. Yes, in a way that Jim Parsons, whose opinion I respect immensely, has said repeatedly that he really likes.
  3. Really? We're worried about Sheldon's ability to concentrate at work? This is the same character who got into a turf war with Raj over having a desk in his office, got into a turf war with Howard over a parking spot, dressed up as a French maid at work in order to meet Stephen Hawking, and booby-trapped Kripke's lab with foaming chemicals.
  4. I have a question. In "The Decoupling Fluctuation", why are people acting like it's creepy that Amy plans on marrying Sheldon eventually? What girl doesn't fantasize about marrying her boyfriend someday? A lot of women and girls daydream about marrying guys who are just crushes when they're not even in a relationship.
  5. I see it as normal overlap; there are only so many types of characters. I won't worry until Raj joins the Blue Man group or becomes a never-nude.
  6. I'm a huge fan of AD and I gotta say, I don't think there's that much of a similarity. We were supposed to think Tobias was gay but it just hadn't occurred to him yet. If memory serves, Tobias wasn't especially interested in women sexually. Raj, on the other hand, is portrayed as a metrosexual, and the humor comes from him not realizing how some of his comments are coming across. He has been with women and wants to be in a relationship with a woman. i think the writers just haven't figured out what to do with Raj lately...they kind of wrote themselves into a corner with the selective muti
  7. I want to throw a couple of things out there for your consideration: Last week, I think they did a really good job with the death scenario in Sheldon's life. (I'm not sure if it's considered a spoiler since it already aired so I won't mention details.) It was poignant and helped the audience understand his past. Now they've done that, I can't see another death adding anything. About Sheldon's sexuality (or lack thereof), one major component of his aversion seems to be germaphobia. Several times he has said that kissing/hand-holding/sex is "unsanitary" or "unhygenic". However, we hav
  8. Well said, Pomita! I find the Sheldon character fascinating. He can be so detached and robot-like with people, but at the same time he is at the mercy of his mother and his love for his Mee-Maw seems to know no bounds. Occasionally we get glimpses of how much he cares about his friends ("please don't hurt my friend", offering Howard his spot on the couch as an apology, taking Penny to the ER when she was injured). The relationship with Amy pushes that comfort zone even further, which is lots of fun to watch. Bill Prady said in an interview that the writers are even surprised at how accept
  9. Greetings, all! I've been lurking for a while and this is my first comment, well comments. First, can't we all be nice? The purpose of TBBT is to bring joy to people's lives (and money to producers' wallets, but that's beside the point), and it's sad to see the discussion turn contentious. Second, maybe I'm a little more forgiving than some people, but I love what is happening with the show. I'm a huge Shamy fan and IMO it's original and fascinating to see a fairly stable relationship that still retains a will-they-or-won't-they dynamic. It's simultaneously touchingly sweet and rio
