the Stuart dude owns the store. I'm not sure why they added him--nothing against him but we already have such limited time with the original cast. He's like another Raj to annoy Howard and Bernie

They added him because the shows  tank is on empty.

I still believe Kaley could talk Johnny into another year or two, but not Jim.

I don’t think so. The only reason would be for the money. Certainly it would be a hard sell to Johnny since the Lenny storyline is basically non existent. And if I know that they know that. JP leaving made everyone look good. Chuck’s I’m not going on without all 3 is true. I also think Kaley’s all emotional while generally true IMO will be over quickly after the show ends. she also said she would do her role for another 20 years.

Season 12 has not been great, but its been alright. I enjoyed the Halloween episode. I liked when they went Paintballing. Season 8 is still by far the worst season in this series, a real black spot on this series.

I agree to this show has been very inconsistent since Season 8. MY Fav years were 1-6. But 8-12 has been wildly inconsistent.

Funny thing is you are picking out a couple episodes you liked in season 12. 1-6 you would only pick a couple per season you didn't like. Kind of a reason the show needs to end.

With all due respect, I could honestly care less. I don't believe all that equals happiness. I feel any kitchen island can be a happy place , as long as you have the right mind set and firm with who you are.

That's very easy to say..........................................................after the fact.

  5. If we are doing wish things for finale here’s mine:

the two Fermilab guys get the Nobel.

Sheldon would get his real wish. 15 kids. 3 sets of quints. All of them looking like Amy and the IQ of Mary. 10 years later Sheldon gets his Nobel on a project with Amy and Leonard

Howard get his PHD at Cal Tech. Bernadette would discover the drug that would make her voice normal. Their kids end up baby sitting the other kids.

Stuart gets a part time job illustrating children’s books. Marries Denise and has two kids.

Raj marries Anu and have three boys all who play football. Penny’s their coach

Leonard and Penny buy a house move closer to CalTech after Leonard’s promotion to Head of the Physics Department. The other three couples move to the same block. They are the last one to have a kid. They have a girl who looks exactly like Penny but with Leonatds IQ.

The gang eats dinner 4 times a week at each other’s houses. on Friday night they go to the TCF and then to the comic book store. The girls have girls night on that day. Occasionally Stuart and Denise come for dinner too.

The following was reported by insomniak, in the "Information to Attend a Taping" thread.  It was moved here as that is not a spoiler thread.

    **MILD SPOILER ALERT**
So, as for the episode, I will not give out a full Play by Play on what we watched, but will give an overview..

Previous taping.  - Story continues in regard to Sheldon and Amy's Nobel prize, No finalization there. There was a personality switch between 2 main characters which was foreseeable within the subtext of the episode but was needed.  There was also a rather "back to the shows roots" story involving Howard, Raj, and Bernadette which I found funny and reminiscent. No real shockers or reveals with Leonard or Penny.

The taping we saw:  Show took again a "back to its roots" Format, which I really enjoyed. Felt more like a season 3-5 episode than the current season's wind down. Leonard and Raj are the 2 main story points in this episode. The group confronts Leonard about an issue that should have been addressed seasons ago so we could have seen more organic growth but it is relevant to cleanly breaking the series.  It's a good character development move for Leonard which could be the basis of the series finale IF they decided to develop it more.  In WHAT WE SAW BEING TAPED (yes, I capped that for a reason), it seemed the development/story did the typical Birth, Growth, Death cycle you see in a 30 minute sitcom BUT I wouldn't be surprised if there was an alternate story line taped as I really feel this could be a great story progression to end the show.

Raj's story did have Anu Present but it had nothing to do with their relationship. It focused around Raj's work and his reputation within the scientific community. Was a great side story to the primary plot.

What do you think suggested that in last night's episode?

Just creating my own fan fiction. It seems from last night Nobel Prize winner Thorn seem to like Leonard and know Penny. The write up on cbs express for the 25th was Leonard wanted to be a lead on a plasma project with encouragement from Penny. It appears that she’s pushing him not to be wimpy. If he doesn’t get it what would his reaction be? Especially with the show now ending.

Because I think both have been boring this season. I thought the Zach stuff and the entire donation thing was boring and not funny in anyway. I feel the entire season is boring to date.

I wish that book was available for purchase. It was too cute. I loved the artwork.

To me your comment about Lenny May have belonged on the season 12 thread. While I don’t disagree with you the assymetry storyline has been going on a lot longer

i actually like the book too.

Is it only me who finds this super asymmetry story super boring.... and such a long unfunny plot in the last season feels like a complete downer....

While I truly understand and wish assymetry would go away,(I’m sick of Sean Astin and Kal Penn) it depends somewhat on what you watch in the episode. I liked Lenny in the episode. They truly looked liked they belong together which isn’t always the case. Obviously you are going to have toplay along with Penny knowing Kip Thorn(an unseen meeting?) but I’m kind of use to that. I was all ready to hate the Howdette storyline but it was one of the better b storylines of late.

  9. Fairly good episode all things considered. Lenny saving Sheldon’s butt from all the stupid things he said in the past. The Smoot one on the train episode for example. Ironic Amy was the one that lost it. If she is the one that loses the Nobel nomination Sheldon will never let her forget it.

Actually liked the Howdette storyline. Maybe a little too cute for TBBT. A Bit Like a Little house on the Prairie.

Yes ! They all poke at each other over stuff that was true when they were twenty-something bachelors.

JMO but find it hard to have sympathy for all the crap he has given Leonard and the others over the years. Kind of like Why Smoot and the other physicists didn’t want to come to the party.

In S12 it’s always Lenny A story with Raj/Anu as a B story, so I think we’ll finally have the resolution with Lenny baby decision)

You may be right about the Leonard and Raj stories sonce April 25th episode is about them

I'm not that bothered by comparing amount of "wins" as I am by some characters having multiple major achievements while others do have their major achievements but will also live on with a very major burden that will be there forever. Not saying they won't have a good life but it will always be there. I don't understand the writers' choice there (and more so given that it was so easy not to do that and that doing that meant going against things we've seen over the course of several years).

*I usually make such comments in Dark Lenny but there's a more general discussion here about how people think of the ending so I wrote this here, hoping it's mild enough.

Like the way you wrote something so vague but easy enough to understand.

Here is my thinking. We know that Leonard walks away from his job when trying to stand up for himself. I think he may turn to his mom for advise and she will say she is proud of him, and that he did the right thing.

This would give Leonard another "win" for those who keep track. He has always wanted true approval from his mom. Perhaps, this will be a good thing for Leonard.

Sheldon could reach out to Beverly for this as well. They do get along really well. So this is also a possibility!

I don't think it relates to Penny at all. I think she is pretty sure of what she wants. But who knows. For only keeping peace on this board and to stop the ship wars I kind of hope she gets pregnant with 3 kids. Fair is fair...Lenny and Shamy will be completely equal across the board.  However I certainly don't ascribe to any proficy theory.  I still think that is hogwash.

You keep missing a couple things at least with me. You keep calling Leonard wins or Penny wins as Lenny wins. There not. If Sheldon was the only one  nominated for a Nobel Prize would it be a Shamy win?

The baby thing. Though I don’t watch YS Sheldon announcing he had kids IMO was a downer for Lenny fans especially how this season has turned out. Speaking for myself each having 3 kids means nothing. Again speaking for myself I’m just looking for fairness in storylines  and a satisfactory ending for Lenny and Shamy. to me that would of been a Nobel Prize for Shamy and A child on the way for Lenny. Well stories haven’t good at all for Lenny and if I were a betting man a Nobel Prize is more likely than a kid.
