It will NEVER be satisfying to all viewers. Nothing ever is. That is totally unrealistic as I see it. As for syndication, my prediction is that it will be watched years from now by people who didn't even watch it the last 12 years.

I know you hate it but Friends was satisfying IMO for all viewers. I agree you will always gain new, or more likely younger viewers , to watch.  But the people who are watching now will not if they don’t get a happy ending. TBH it shouldn’t be too hard to do.

The same could be said about Lenny, or any other character.

I think the three couples matter. If Raj doesn’t end up with Anu its not like fans have a lot invested in them. Same goes with Stuart and Denise. If things work out great if not no big deal. I think what’s important now to TPTB is that the finale has to be satisfying to all viewers so they will watch in syndication. People remember how shows end not necessarily the long trip it took to get there.

I totally agree.  The average fan wants a funny episode and their thoughts  about the finale are likely linked only to getting the elevator fixed.

I agree with the funny part and the elevator may go with that but I think the average viewer wants a happy ending. The average viewer IMO knows what’s going on but doesn’t overanalyze it like us on here. A good example of people not getting the ending they wanted was HIMYM.  Ted ending up with Robin at the end was believable but the mother dying in the finale was hated by most. (I wasn’t one of them). Thus the finale overall was disliked.

As to the ending of TBBT Seinfeld and TAAHM aren’t comparable shows. No one is ending up in jail or having a piano on them. Those shows aren’t work related shows or couples related shows. I think the closest show to TBBT is Friends( I get some people hate it). The only mystery left in Friends was Ross and Rachel. The only mystery will be Lenny. There isn’t any mystery left with the other two couples and while people are interested in Raj right now ultimately in the end if it doesn’t work fans will be fine with that.

Then my prediction will come true, a Lenny divorce and Leonard has a few episodes left to find the mother of his children (reminds you of a different show?).

Just as likely as my prediction coming true. Sheldon dumps Amy for Paige and Paige is the mother of his children

    Why not?...To both questions

Because people complained enough about two pregnancy storylines and even I can’t disagree. Same would have went for a Nobel Prize storyline in seasons 10 and 11

Confused...why would that affect the Lenny story line?

We’re they going to have a third pregnancy storyline when they have already done two? Would they have a Nobel prize storyline if they had one in the last two seasons for Raj and Leonard for example?

I remember Penny saying she wouldn't put her body through 3 pregnancies but she never said no babies

That was season 7 Mommy observation. Raj had the scenario during his mystery murder of them married with three kids. Leonard was okay with that but you are correct in what Penny said

It's probably just me but if Penny knew she didn't want kids before they got married and didn't tell Leonard that in my mind is a bigger betrayal than the shipboard kiss

The writers as mentioned many times put themselves in a box going back to the kiss. Then they followed their IMO stupidity with having Bernadette pregnant twice. That’s what caused the no baby storyline for Lenny.

Didn't Leonard want children in the first episode. So why would sheldon deserve a Nobel prize and Leonard not get what he wanted

That my friend is a very good question!!!

I think an equivalent ending would be if only the Fermilab guys got the nomination and the storyline would end.

The asymmetry story line is important to Shamy fans.  It's an experience the S/A entered into together as a team and the fans want to see it through to the end.

But it’s flawed as others have pointed out. Like an undeserved win. As others have pointed it was a Sheldon dream the Nobel Prize.

As for Lenny fans we should be overjoyed by the status quo?

    That'll work as well!

I'm sure intelligent writers could come up with something interesting for Lenny if they wanted to write them. They were too lazy and too focused on the Shamy to really care about writing anything interesting for Lenny!

There are other possible plots. We'll never see them as the writers are wasting episodes on Shamy's possible Nobel!

I think more of the actual problem is the other storylines. It’s been told to the viewers that we won’t see the kids which is okay but discussions about them IMO is equally as bad. An occasional mention is fine but the last two weeks there have been storylines about them

Well, if it's a Nobel episode, that would NOT be a filler. It would be advancing the Shamy arc.

But what I read in the taping report there is no advancement in that storyline. And the Howard storyline is not adding anything. Seems weird though to have two kid related episodes in a row.

Much deserved?  The for a show that has spent it's entire run being proud of accurate science, the so-called super-asymmetry is not science.

Dumb luck =well deserved. Do you think the audience is smart enough to know if science is science?

Well I hate the WW character because he deliberatley broke up Lenny for personal gain. And then continued to be friendly with Penny.

I’m a Lenny fan but I have to disagree with you. He was a villain in this episode but he didn’t break up Lenny. Leonard and Penny broke up Lenny. Penny for not saying I love you and Leonard for expecting her to. JMO but if they had stayed together I don’t think the show would of lasted so long. I know some say, including myself, that the show could of ended a couple of years ago but JMO it could of been sooner than that.
