  1. I'm sitting here bemused, wearing a funny blue hat. LOL. I don't really know what happened, but I don't like how it ended. Haha.

I read the article and thought none of the clever things everyone else did, and only got a little perturbed about displaced hopes for non-canon relationships being unrealistically lifted. Then it's all a blur, and now I'm in a zone.

Can you tell me if I made it worse?

Eta yes happy about the one hour but will it be conjoined or just a back to back?

I really couldn't tell u if u made it worse. I'm still shocked it happened. I mean, I understand the Lennys and Shamys having a problem with the Shennys. Well the ones looking for a romantic relationship anyway. But with each other? That's not cool. Haha.

I think they are just going to be back to back. Although I'm not really sure!

  2. Wow, things got kinda crazy in here! I myself don't see any real problem with the interview and I certainly don't see any major problems for the two main couples. I'm delighted there's going to be some good shenny interaction. When it's done right, it can be pretty hilarious.

I just can't get over the whole one hour premiere thing. Like its getting me so excited! I really can't wait to see what they have lined up for us :)

  3. I hope they get around this problem (of her career holding back her personal life), but then again the formal commitment is probably nice but redundant. I take her declaration in the Tangible Affextion Proof as the indicator of her intentions. It would be sad to for them to depict that she has to have a commercial success to marry or be engaged. It's too materialistic. And she should feel worthy as she is, otherwise what sort of statement is the show making about people who don't "have it all". The two things (career and relationship) should not be so closely coupled. IMHO. But they have not said that this is her problem anyway, so we will have to see how they play it out.

Hmm, i dont really mean that she would have to have some big sort of success. I'm not expecting her to become famous overnight, i would just like her to have something that was sort of hers. Okay this is hard to explain at this time of night! haha I dont know if it would actually stop her proposing, just maybe for her overall happiness. Like i dont think she would be content being 'just a waitress' married to a physicist. I think she would want something, some sort of career of her own, or to be doing something that she is good and successful at. Even if it is just her taking more interest in school, doing more classes that she enjoys and doing well at them.

This probably reads horribly. its just after 3am and my head is officially mush, i hope you kinda sorta get what i meant though! time for bed i think!

  4. In Penny's mind it is only recently that they have come to be on more equal footing. There have been several instances where she has vocalized her feelings that Leonard would never break up with her and that he would never do anything to hurt her, not because of her faith in him as a good person or his love for her, but more or less because she believed that he was lucky to get her. I don't see where she needs anything to build her self esteem as far as her relationship with Leonard goes.

When it comes to her appearance, you are probably right. She's cute and she knows it. Haha but I think disgusted was referring more to her self esteem in her career. She has always felt inferior to the other guys when it comes to this and I think disgusted is right, there will probably have to be something big happen for Penny, career wise, before she will propose, but I can't see them regressing next season, I really do think the writers will continue to strengthen their relationship, especially after the huge ratings last season.

  5. After watching Ross and Rachael, I don't see anything the same as Leonard and Penny.  Ross and Rachael even seem a little immature compared to Leonard and Penny.  Plus their interaction does not have the chemistry that Leonard and Penny have.  I could really care less if Ross ends up with Rachael, I guess is the bottom line.

The personalities are completely different however their situations are vaguely similar. The whole 'Beauty and the Geek' thing is pretty much the same. It is also widely known in Friends that Ross had a thing for Rachel for a long time before they actually got together, and then there is the whole on/off thing. I don't know about R/R Being more immature than L/P, i would say that Ross is pretty mature and Rachel may have been pretty immature in the beginning but ended up being an incredibly successful and independant woman, something i hope to see more of in Penny over the next season. I think for those who are big Friends fans aswell as TBBT fans, (like me :) ) can see the similarities, although i will admit there are very few.

They are and were both hugely popular sitcoms, that were filmed in front of a live audience, so i think sometimes there will be comparisons made, although i agree that overall, the two shows are quite different.

  6. She's been tagged wth some horrible tumble posts. Don't look. People are dix.

You are right, some people are dicks. Purely jealous fanatics. I love how she has handled herself throughout this whole thing. Keeping her love life to herself and remaining dignified through it all. Just makes me admire the woman even more :)

  7.

That is exactly what is being said.

What really pissed me off was that message, especially the bolded part:

I would absolutely love to see something like this! Leonard comes home early and to surprise everyone, alone. He opens the apartment door to find Penny, Sheldon, and Amy all screaming at one another. After four months, the girls find Sheldon beyond infuriating and Sheldon believes the girls are totally inept, he was unable to train them as well as he trained Leonard. The yelling pauses as they all realize Leonard is standing in the living room. We hear a high-pitched girlish scream of profound delight and it's Sheldon. He runs and throws himself into Leonard's arms, still squealing like girl, like Penny did when Leonard returned from the North Pole. The kiss, optional.

Ugh, like what? "Unable to train Amy"? Seriously? Freaking seriously?

    And this one:

I also think that Amy will have a vastly improved appreciation for Leonard, after having to put up with Sheldon all Summer. And perhaps Sheldon as well after being with Amy all Summer.

    LOL NO.

If you think that you just don't know the Shamy at all and really should refrain from commenting on them, imho.

(That being said the first scenario wouldn't even surprise me that much, given how Molaro doesn't understand the Shamy either. I don't get why the Lennies are so worried, the head writer worships their ship.)

To be fair, i think the first comment made wasn't really thought through by the person writing it, i think it was just a way of getting across Sheldon and the girls having some sort of argument, when Leonard walks through the door. Totally agree that the second one is a little crazy though haha Anyway it's safe to say we don't all feel that way!

I don't get why a lot of the peopple in that thread are so worried either. I've almost gotten to the point where i'm fed up trying to convince them that everything is going to be okay! haha

  8. I.A.Molly, Sheldon has less power over Amy because she lives and works at a distance, she has superior abilities to get get on with people and she has a relative indifference to Sheldon's superiority in his field - her paradigm subsumes his. There are many reasons why she can cope with him better - up to the end of s6 anyway (never mind that she fancies him too)

But if Penny has truly walked into the light, Sheldon has to take third place. He should only be a distraction and she shouldn't care too much about him. Her primary concern should be Leonard, so hopefully she will have been putting up barriers to Sheldon as she prepares to wean him off his dependencies on her and Leonard, or at least push him on to Amy.

It is written as a group home for the sake of the comedy so that won't happen, but I'm sort of over the communal living deal. They will always be slightly adolescent until they get their own spaces. Otherwise where is the adult commitment?

I guess that's my suspension of disbelief flagging. The glacier will slowly grind on. Which is both good and bad.

ETA. Just to be clear, I want Penny and Leonard to live together (in Nebraska?) and Sheldon and Amy can come visit for dinner or afternoon tea from time to time or whatever they want. The shared house is an obstacle that won't be removed. UNLESS they really disrupt/retool the show and that's hugely speculative.

That isn't going to happen in the timeline of the show though! haha And i dont think Penny will put up any barriers with Sheldon, i think she will continue to be like his big sister throughout the whole thing. She will look after him when he needs it and become super pissed off with him too. Just like i do with my lovely brothers! haha And i don;t think he would have to be pushed on to Amy either. I think she'd gladly take him on! haha

  9. More likely the scenerio isn't that Amy is going to balk but Sheldon is going to ask Penny for help. He's use to seeing Amy at certain times.(Girlfriend Agreement?). Amy's mostly likely going be mad about him depending more on Penny than her.

I don;t know if Sheldon will actually ask Penny for help, but i can definitely see Penny being the one getting really annoyed with Sheldon, and Amy being in the middle trying to calm them both down. I think LostInTheSun is right, Amy has a lot more tolerance for Sheldon than anyone else in the group, excluding possibly Leonard, so I can see everyone getting frustrated dealing with him, but not Amy so much. Penny especially! haha
