  1. In Leonard's, defense he's probably promised to never let Penny drink "that much wine on an empty stomach again." too. He's not their mommy. Witholding information that might help them get back together, isn't cool, but it isn't his job to throw his body on every land mine.
  2. Because they've plotted his arc out thoughtfully? That's hilarious.
  3. There only needs to be one episode of build up and poof... Lenny is right where Shamy is. There was no build up to either the Shamy break up or Sheldon having a ring, but poof, suddenly your ship is sunk to the gleefully chuckling of Molaro "it really opens our story possibilities... We don't know exactly where we are going with this yet, but what a ride!" I am not saying it will happen, but don't act like Chiany is crazy.
  4. The writer's don't have to have a reason to ruin everything. It is their show if they wanted to implode it, "just to explore the characters and their motivations..." They will. They've enjoyed this pointless messing with Shamy this year, it's not unthinkable they'll muck up Lenny next year for LOLs.
  5. Or they don't care because they are CBS's cash cow and people are sheep to them. Also they don't have a plan, just like they didn't have a resolution for the train ride. They are going to write the story till they are bored with it, drop it like hot rock into an emotionally unsatisfying and trite resolution. After which everything returns to how it was, including Sheldon continuing as Lenny's pet dog with no further commentary. It's not Sheldon who hates change, it's Molaro. And that is actually one of the best case scenarios. My parents are old and hate the show this season but watch out of habit... Just like 2 1/2 men.
  6. If we judge the finale by past finales it's going to be random and probably horrifying to the character's fan base. Except for season 5. That finale was driven by Howard's season long story arc, made perfect sense, advanced the plot and was a lot of fun. How the hell did that happen?
  7. I agree totally, but what if the writers think this is going really well? or what if they have nothing else planned? Molaro loves to brag about not planning ahead. If he likes how this is playing out we are screwed.
  8. That's because Amy's desire to be valued and desired in a more conventional way is viewed by disappointed shippers as a betrayal of the ship for which she must be punished. I actually think what Sheldon did is worse, but I view him as the main problem in the reconciliation, not Amy. I think 1 and 2 can both happen. The third option is highly unlikely.
  9. Unless the dude was talking about Sheldon's his thin beckoning lips, his koala face or his love of tea, I don't see how some big bird looking dude waxing enthusiastic about Sheldon's genius while not paying attention to her is going to do anything but remind her of all the times Sheldon would wax enthusiastic about his own genius while not paying attention to her. Or it might just remind her that having someone talk non-stop about Sheldon's genius for a whole date can be annoying when she's clearly not in the mood for it.
  10. Pretty much. This is bad storytelling. The break up happening when it did, made no sense because things were okay then. If it had happened after the Mars thing. Fine. Episode 8.1? awesome. But after cute sleepover... It doesn't make as much sense. I don't think Amy is humiliated as much as she felt she was sad that he had already decided to add more staff. If she felt that was all she was to him, now she had proof. So she was emotionally free to date others as her position was being filled.
  11. Yeah, that's a separate discussion about what's wrong with Penny. And it was emotional blackmail and it worked.
  12. Hmmm and yet he's clinging to Lenny willingly comparing himself to a dog in a thunderstorm? They can't start their married life alone because he can't be alone. And he won't ask Amy "what's wrong?" The one question that would unravel the whole thing.
  13. It's not just about that. He hasn't shown us that he cares for her either. As far as she knows, she is just right and needs to be moving on with her business being right. Why should she try to win him back when everything that made her think he didn't care about her was 100% true? I haven't seen once thing that makes me think he really cares for HER or her feelings. He just cares for himself and wants her back because she was good for him. He's sad that's what counts.
  14. Have you noticed any growth? He's been regressing if anything.
  15. But sweeps is shaping up to be all Shamy. So I kind of doubt the break up will be resolved this soon. Also, they usually like to kill the story momentum with a guest star episode that makes little to no sense. So I am guessing sweeps ends with no resolution, no conversation and the torment continues into the winter.
  16. Thank you. All this break up has demonstrated is that Amy might have known what she was doing when she broke up with him. He hasn't shown one ounce of caring about why she did what she did or how she feels. It's like Sheldon is interviewing girl friends like he interviewed new roommates. I know that's how he is, but how is that an example that he's going to be a loving boyfriend? All he wants is staff from her pov. And that is what she probably thought all along. I want to want them to get back together. This isn't doing it. I don't want Amy to have to go back to being his Leonard with limited off screen kissing.
  17. I hope so. Just let it be over. Also, we apparently have the same cats. I am going with it being this year's cliffhanger and nothing coming of it.
  18. The point is that it is another slap for a character that romantically has been slapped a lot already. There's not going to be any movement because Amy thinks Sheldon doesn't care about her, and since he got over her so quickly, he probably never cared very much from her perspective. I doubt the first move will come from her. And she's not wrong. There's been no indication he cares how she feels beyond how it effects him, just like in the relationship. He is only upset because her feelings have inconvenienced him. Now he has to replace her. So far, they are making Amy's break up with him look like a masterpiece of logic on her part. Even characters who have no trouble sticking there noses in where they don't belong aren't intervening for Sheldon. I would have preferred a decent date that she didn't click with because Sheldon was better than this great guy rather than the insidious hand of Dr. Cooper ruining a date he wasn't directly involved in. But since it's Amy why should she get a decent choice? This break up isn't ending anytime soon.
  19. I am not sure what you are basing this trust on. If you read Molaro's interviews he is gleeful about not having any idea what he's doing or where any of this is going. Ever. It's pretty clear none of his cliffhangers have had resolutions in mind when he wrote them. Also he loves no progress. If a story doesn't move all season... it's a success to him. If Carol Ann Susi hadn't died last year nothing important or interesting would have happened plot wise and (I don't count the paper) from November to May of last season. -The break up was another plot device to keep Sheldon in perpetual child-state and living with Leonard in apartment 4A. It's not mean to spur any great Shamy progress, it's meant to halt progress indefinitely. Because they don't want to write a story for an adult Sheldon. It's easier to write the same stuff they've been writing for the last 8 seasons just with Sheldon acting a little sadder or crazier. The over all quality of the show has been lacking this year. If the half ass a Shamy reunion the way the half-assed Lenny's wedding and honeymoon (they get to live with Sheldon 4eva)... I don't know....
  20. Have you looked up mushroom logs on line? It's a cheap gift. It's ugly. It doesn't get better looking once the mushrooms grow in and unless you need to have mushrooms everyday, there's probably little joy in having a moist, stinking stump of fungus infested wood in your one bedroom apartment. Amy wasn't wrong for not digging the mushroom log or it's rich symbolism. You people are reading too much into the mushroom log. Mostly I agree with the romance sentiment, but not on the mushroom log. Amy never asked for much, but she told him she wanted flowers. It's not like she was being mysterious on that issue.
  21. from what I am hearing from the casual viewers in my life is that they haven't found this season that funny... I don't think most people are loving the angst. They haven't found a clever fun way to do it. They are regressing Sheldon and minimizing Amy to the point they may as well be planning to write her off the show.
  22. I am out until this is resolved. I am not enjoying the journey. It's hasn't been funny so far and I don't foresee it getting hilarious any time soon. And it's destroying my good will toward the rest of the show. I'll keep on a eye on the TR but I hate watching a comedy then feeling sadder than if I'd watched a 2 hour Nicholas Sparks movie.
  23. You don't have a lot of gay male friends do you? There can be quite a lot of affectionate kissing.
  24. That title will do nothing to quell the notion that this season is a bit of a downer...
  25. And if this were real life I'd be buying her a burner cell hone and helping her bug out of her apartment. But it's TV, so I want them to work it out. But I want him to listen to her and not act like he's doing her a huge favor... I mean when he's not the topic of conversation. And buy her some damn flowers because that's what she wants and then let her decide if they are a crappy valentine's day gift. It can't be all about him all the time. Which even according to your list... it is.
