  12. From Deadline Hollywood Mayim Bialik Inks Pod & Talent Holding Deal With Warner Bros. TV Group, Taps Chuck Lorre Prods’ Veteran As Head Of Development Former The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik is reuniting with the studio behind the long-running hit comedy series, signing a multi-faceted deal with Warner Bros. TV Group. It includes an exclusive two-year pod deal for Bialik’s newly launched production company, Sad Clown Productions, and a talent holding provision for her acting services. As part of the pact, Bialik has named Chuck Lorre Productions’ veteran Mackenzie Gabriel-Vaught as Head of Development and Production for Sad Clown. Bialik’s pact follows a similar expansive deal fellow Big Bang star Kaley Cuoco recently inked with WBTVG, which also includes a two-year pod deal for Cuoco’s production company, Yes, Norman Productions, and a talent holding provision for her acting services. Vaught joins Sad Clown after a decade with Lorre, where she served as VP of Current Programming, overseeing hit series The Big Bang Theory, Mike & Molly, Mom, Young Sheldon, and The Kominsky Method. Vaught also served as Coordinating Producer on Young Sheldon. In her new role with Bialik, Vaught will be responsible for developing and producing projects for broadcast, cable, on-demand/streaming and digital platforms via WBTVG divisions such as Warner Bros. Television, Warner Horizon Scripted Television, Warner Bros. Animation and digital venture Blue Ribbon Content. “WB has been my creative home for over a decade and I’m thrilled to be continuing my relationship with them as I develop projects as an actor and a producer,” Bialik said. “After working with Mackenzie during my entire time at The Big Bang Theory, I have grown to respect and value her humor, candor, intelligence, and professionalism. There’s no one else I would rather start this new phase of my career with than Mackenzie and I can’t wait to start showing what we can do together!” Bialik has also added Brandon Klaus as Coordinator for Sad Clown.

  15. From The Hollywood Reporter Young Hollywood 2019: Top 30 Stars Under Age 18 Small but mighty, THR’s Young Hollywood 2019 honorees are punching above their weight. Iain Armitage Age 11 Known for Big Little Lies, Young Sheldon Though he grew up reviewing musicals on his YouTube channel Iain Loves Theatre, Armitage never thought he'd become an actor other critics wrote about. That changed when he landed the role of Ziggy on HBO's Big Little Lies. Now, the son of actor Euan Morton and theater producer Lee Armitage fronts his own series as a child version of Jim Parsons' Big Bang Theorycharacter on spinoff Young Sheldon, one of CBS' top-rated comedies. When he's not acting, he's practicing his "amateur magician" skills. I’ve been most starstruck by ... "Ms. Chita Rivera." How I celebrated landing my first big role "Jumped up and down." I’m dying to work with ... "Mr. Lin-Manuel Miranda and Sir Ian McKellen." My advice for adults "Don't use your phone too much." What other kids don't get about being an actor "That we aren’t actually our character."

  17. From Deadline Hollywood Off-Net Spree: HBO Max Zeroes In On Mega Deal For ‘The Big Bang Theory’ & ‘Two And A Half Men’ As ‘Seinfeld’ Hits Marketplace With several big media companies gearing up for the launch of new streaming platforms, long-running broadcast comedy series are taking center stage as cornerstones of their offerings. NBCUniversal paid $500+ million for The Office, and HBO Max shelled out $425 million for Friends — both pulled away from Netflix. Additionally, Disney+ is taking over streaming rights to The Simpsons library which Disney-owned FX Networks had paid $100 million for in a multi-platform deal several years ago. The massive recent Office and Friendsdeals could soon be dwarfed by the first streaming pacts for two big Chuck Lorre hits, The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men. WarnerMedia had been looking to secure Warner Bros. TV’s latest comedy blockbuster, The Big Bang Theory, in a deal, which industry observers had expected to cross the $1 billion mark. I now hear that HBO Max is in conversations for both Big Bang and 2.5 Men, with the package possibly fetching as much as $1.5 billion. <full article in the link>
