Discussion on Kaley and Karl's divorce

I offer this as just an observation and I do not know if there is any credibility to it at all. I am just throwing this out there for a discussion as this topic has generated quite a bit of interest in the forum. So here goes:

I believe that Karl by his own admission in his wedding vows said that he fell in love with Kaley from the night they met. In other reports Kaley was hesitant about getting into another committed relationship so soon after her divorce from Ryan Sweeting. Kaley and Karl met during her tenure on TBBT. After their marriage there were rumblings that TBBT may be in its final stages and Kaley started to worry what will be in store for her career when the show is over. She had started her own production company as per Johnny's advice but did not have any projects yet until she obtained the rights to The Flight Attendant. When TBBT was officially done she jumped into the production of The Flight Attendant but as it was nearing completion she worried and cried herself to sleep wondering if she did the right thing.

My theory is that worrying about her future after TBBT she married Karl for her security if her career flopped knowing that Karl was from a wealthy family and would provide for her. So, in retrospect she may not have loved Karl as much as she said she did.

When her productions were applauded and she became successful with Harley Quinn and The Flight Attendant getting multiple nominations for awards for her acting and producing work. Thus, she really did not need Karl for support any longer and became more independent and their lives simply drifted apart. Her net worth was around $100 million so she could stand alone financially. Thus, they filed for divorce to end their marriage

At this point I wonder what Kaley wants out of a marriage and of life. When she met Karl he was her "horse guy" and was the perfect man for her and their love was meant to be.  Didn't work out that way. Do not know what the future holds for Kaley. Maybe she should stay single for awhile until she figures it all out. But after two failed marriages who knows if she wants to walk down the aisle again. I hope she does not rush into another relationship just to have a man on her arm.

As I mentioned this is only an observation and  in no way am I  putting any blame on Kaley or Karl. It just seemed to me that she was more bummed out after her divorce from Ryan than now with Karl. Maybe she has matured and her success in her career has given her more independence, freedom and self reliance.

My guess why the marriage ended is that they are not on the same page when it comes to children.

Everyone has an opinion as to why the marriage failed. I have my own opinion, but will withhold it for now. I'm  just going to accept what they said. Basically they drifted apart with different interests and work priorities. Every article that I read have cited the announcement they jointly made.

I don't believe  that was the reason she married him either. At the time they had similar interests, their horses and riding in competitions. She hasn't rode in competitions for a while. That may have played a part in the divorce. But, that's speculation on my part. Oh well, it's fun to talk about it.

Is kaley of sound mind I wonder. Just saying. I thought she found happiness with Karl and now they are throwing it all away for what? Is there more to the breakup? Didn't she say she wanted kids a few years ago? What happened with that? Her career has taken off in a big way and she has abandoned her earlier goals to pursue her new ambitions which is fair enough. She seems to fall out of love as quickly as she falls in love. I question her mental state sometimes, is love just a fairy tale to her for a few years. I hope all is good with her and she finds everlasting happiness/ true love one day and a way of juggling it with her career.

Yes she certainly is an enigma. I have made several comments on her quotes where she states that Karl was her "perfect match", that they shared so much in common, that she wanted  a man that had his own career and life so he would not be emasculated by her fame and success. Well, she had all that with Karl. And to say that their lives are going in opposite directions is really kind of a lame excuse for divorce. Tensor made a very good analysis of their separation and it certainly matches what they stated in their announcement. But I still get the feeling that there was something else behind it to make her file for divorce so suddenly. And what you say about her has crossed my mind: was she ever truly in love with Karl or just the idea of marriage. Hopefully she will get her personal life in order as  she is pretty much focusing on her professional life. One last comment  I recently read where Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are making their romance work even though they are miles apart. She in Vancouver filming a movie and he in Austin, Texas filming his movie. How come they make it work? Maybe their love overcomes the distance.

Thank you. 🙂  I don't discount some triggering event, (AAMOF, I think there was one) but short of either of them coming out and telling us about it, we may never know exactly what it was.

This may go back to to what is going to happen in the future.  Once Jennifer and Ben are done with filming, will they be together for some time, until their next project comes up?  Will their next project coincide with the other being off?  Will their next project be in the LA area?  Those are all unknowns, to us.  If their future projects allow them to spend time together  in their home or they can be together, on location, while one or the other shoots,  it's a lot easier to keep  the relationship going, in general.

I see them as two different relationships. Kaley and Karl are pretty much on the go. She's off filming and he's doing his tournament competitions. They haven't had a lot of together time. While J-lo and Ben have more together time.

You certainly make some good points. They seem to have a lot in common and on the same page. Something didn't click I guess. Life is what you make it. We don't know all the circumstances of what led to all the issues which led to filing for divorce. We may never know. I hope she finds what she is looking for.

In MHO, Davidson may have made a move on Kaley when he found out she was thinking of divorce from Karl and she put the brakes on any romantic relationship. Kaley likes to have fun and probably had a good time filming with Davidson. They must have had alot of laughs plus their outing to Great Adventure amusement park but for Kaley I think that is as far as it went. Just my observation.

Agreed. Fun is fun for Kaley. But, I don't see her going further than friendship with someone while being married.

Also, I have noticed that she has become close friends with her co-star Zosia Mamet. It looks like she may have been staying with Kaley at her house while they were filming Flight Attendant 2. Think that is good for Kaley as she needs her friends support now

Think she still talks with Johnny even though they are not near each other. He in Tennessee and Kaley in California. Wonder if Kaley watched Karl at his riding event in Kentucky He won first prize in his event.

Zosia also brought her horses out to California and is stabling them at Kaley's stables.
