Pomita
Thanks for the promos. Interesting, looks like they're being deliberately misleading with the promo. And Amy gets more priceless by the day!
Irvine
Episode just ended! 'was pretty good! Althought maybe some will disagree... seems like there is varying opinions on episodes lately! Anyway, spoiler alert from this point, if you haven't saw the episode! So, yeah, lots of stuff happening! Raj's crush on Bernadette is official, as the promos already told us! And Howard proposing, and Bernadette saying yes? Which makes me wonder a little, because this episode was full of gossips, and one of them was about Clarinet (sorry: Bernadette) wanting to end it with Howard... But since we don't know about how this rumor started, only that Penny started it, it's hard to say how come this rumor ended up false! Speaking of false rumors, Sheldon and Amy's little ''experiment'' was hilarious! Especcially the ending: I can't believe Penny kept calling Priya a ''gossiping b****'' while it took her 10 seconds to text Leonard that Amy was pregnant with Sheldon's baby! I do wonder if everyone will still believe those fake rumors about Sheldon and Amy in the next episodes! That'd be funny if they refer to that from time to times! And to end my review, a little poll for the you guys: Question: Do you think Sheldon would make an awesome elf? 1) Yes 2) Yes, and not only because of his archery skills 3) No (My answer is ''2'' )
ozblues
Just watched it, hilarious, although all the Romcom haters will loathe it. I also think it's not just Amy & Sheldon experimenting with rumours, but Amy experimenting with how much she can manipulate Sheldon.
Pomita
I thought it was a delightful episode. The whole rumor-spreading experiment thing - Sheldon's expressions when Leonard 'ribs' him ('You dog, you'), the Raj-Penny gossip conversation, the private toast Sheldon and Amy raise ('You're a vixen, Amy Farah Fowler') - it all had me simply rolling in the aisles. Good for Howard.. that part was short and simple, and I liked it that way. And ooh! Sheldon owned one of my favorite physicists, Briane Greene! :D I could watch that first scene a hundred times. white_knight
Aw Man this is one episode I laughed the most from the entire season! Still, I didn't laughed with sheldon's lines but with the rest, I think they are going on the right way with girls also in the show and not just 4 guys and Penny, they are expanding very good the friendships and the comedy and how the stories can go from one couple or one person to the other, so I really enjoyed the episode. The lines and most of them were great like "Lucky Bastrd" hahahahaha to be able to ignore sheldon is quite a feat! and Raj's "Shut your @ss" and what liquor do to guilt hahahaha that was excellent. Also Pryia and Raj webcam chat with their parents. :D All in all great episode and hope for the next one, I read in Kaley's twitter that she was already reading with the rest of the cast the season finale during this week. Destyre
Question: Do you think Sheldon would make an awesome elf? 1) Yes 2) Yes, and not only because of his archery skills 3) No (My answer is ''2'' ) My answer is also 2. I would say yes because he has all of the traits of an elf: Pompous, arrogant, emotionless, anal, tall, pale. The list goes on.
Sheldon's Girl
Do you think Howard and Bernadette will stay engaged? I'm wondering what the writers are planning to do with that...
SmartbutSlow
Howard and Bernadette? No problem! What in the world are they going to do with Howard's mother? Maybe they can put her in a fancy retirement center with all the luxuries she could possibly imagine!!
Shel_Ra_Ho_Le
Loved this episode as Ive stated... oh I dont know... EVERYWHERE! I definitely can NOT wait for Apr 28th, oh the torture!
white_knight
Question: Do you think Sheldon would make an awesome elf? 1) Yes 2) Yes, and not only because of his archery skills 3) No 3) No. Though I think he is more suited as Spock. I saw again Star Trek a couple of days ago and when I saw Spock I remembered sheldon. Now that Howard is engaged, I wonder how and what he is going to do and say to his Mother, congratulations though hehehe.
DrGraviton
Wow....just, wow. Last week was a decent episode, gave me hope for the remainder of the season, and then this steaming pile appears on my screen. My gosh, if I want to see people discussing sexual innuendoes and obsessed with romantic crap, I can watch any number of lesser shows. Epic Fail for this episode. Please, please, please let's get back to some true nerdliness and geekery. Get the guys back to the comic shop, or back into long discussions on Trek, or Star Wars, anything but this blasted romantic stuff.
Prongs
Umm.. that's your opinion I guess. They are improving their lifestyle now. Back when nobody had a girlfriend, all they would do was go to the comic store, long discussions, Star Wars. Just tell me, what do you expect them to do with all the girls that have become a part of this show? Just throw them away and go back to the way they were in season 1? I don't think that they can, or will, do that. They have girls in their group now, one of them is getting married. Now as my personal opinion, I thought that this episode was really funny. Especially liked the way they officially reported Raj's crush on Bernadette. Also the gossip experiment that Shamy came up with was pretty hillarious. We also see in this episode a kind of a chick fight over Leonard ... Penny calling Pria a gossiping bitch, and Raj telling her "You should hear what she says about you". So all in all, I thought it was a good episode. Can't wait for the next one. Concerning the Poll, I'd pick number 2. He really does have all the qualities of an Elf. Pomita
I guessed that those who prefer the purely geek storylines will have objections to this episode. While I love that aspect of the show (especially the science-related stuff), I found this episode hilarious. It was just so well-written, structured and with some good one-liners, and a bit of suspense thrown in. The idea of bonding over the 'mimetic theory' experiment suited Sheldon/Amy perfectly. They have such a quaint relationship. So I find that the funny, per se, matters more to me than the theme of the episode. As for nerdiness - this had Brian Greene, for heaven's sake. And mimetic theory, algebraic gossip and epidemiology.

I don't think that they can, or will, do that. They have girls in their group now, one of them is getting married. What do I expect them to do with all the girls? Easy, de-emphasize those characters. Put them far into the background, and return the focus to the geekery and nerdliness that got the geek community to watch the show in the first place, back when the ratings weren't top 10. What I perceive is that the writers are making the same mistake that many females make with nerds - they expect them to drop their geekiness and change into what they want them to be. It will work for a little while, but living a lie is never a sustainable prospect. There are enough idiot programs on television, like "2.5 men", which are nothing but sexual innuendo and double entendres. I refuse to watch such crap. BBT should belong to the nerds, not the romantics. Yes, that's my opinion, and it is one which must be considered. We nerds are the core audience, and if they lose us, then what? No ratings, no show. If things do not turn around by the end of the season, unfortunately, I will be beaming out.

I know that some people like the romance stuff and that's fine, but imo the last thing that we need is a generic sitcom about dating. I still like the big bang theory but I'm sure that I'm going to start getting bored at some point if this trend continues.
Pomita
Judging from the last few comments, I would conjecture that it's the male nerds who are disliking the present form of the show (I'm a female one, hence maybe more ok with the 'romance stuff'). Then again, my hubby and a few others I know are absolutely loving this season, so I guess it all comes down to tastes differing, as usual. DrGraviton
I think you are correct. The story lines this season are definitely geared to the romantics. Just hoping for a retrurn to the old form.
Destyre
Well if we count the number of romantic tv shows and shows with nerdy things in them, it would be horribly one sided. Thats food for thought.

That's true. I guess that makes the impulse of clinging to whatever little geeky there is, somewhat understandable.
DrGraviton
Exactly. I mean, there are a few programs scattered across BBC America, G4, The Science Channel, and the History Channel, but these programs are almost exclusively documentaries. I dearly enjoy documentaries, but I like a good laugh every now and then as well. I thought the new movie "Paul" was nice, with clever geeky/nerdy tidbits and Easter eggs throughout, and the romance thing was not overblown - it was a sidebar. That's what I would like to see BBT get back to. That sort of balance.
