4.21 The Agreement Dissection (Apr. 28)

Recommended Posts

It was to be one of my favorite episodes until the scene with the new agreement, I had quite a good laughs when messing with sheldon, but from the new agreement to the end it went downhill for me. Also the best part...Amy and Penny!! hell yeah!! hahaha I like Amy and Bernadette even more!. And I tolerate sheldon even less hehehe.

Sheldon doesn't like to be touched, I was expecting him to freak out after Amy kissed him. He went dancing with the girls, despite saying he never danced in The Gothowitz episode. He also sat on Amy's couch without looking for the perfect spot.

One of the worst episodes.

I have to say although there were parts of the episode I liked for the most point I was disappointed.

Come on, the episode was nice! Althought Amy's switch in character was odd, even if it was due to alcohol! Still, it allowed for some awesome Penny/Amy moment, if you know what I mean! ;) Loved it! I think I'm starting to be a Pamy shipper! LOL ^_^

Anyway, yeah, it was nice, Sheldon's agreement being ripped apart, for starter, was nice! Especcially the moment where Priya mentions that in case of ambiguity, the one who didn't wrote the contract win. In my chemical engineering studies, I had a class about laws for engineering, and this is something that was pointed out! So it kinda reminded me of that! 'was nice!

I won't pretend it was the most awesomest episode of all time, but it had its awesome moment nevertheless! :)

Ok, I'll admit that I did laugh my ass off at some of the scenes in tonight's episode. But I can't help but wonder where did the REAL Sheldon Cooper go to?

Dancing? Sheldon has stated before that he nor the other Sheldons in the infinite number of universes, dance.

Allowing that kiss?I kinda expected something more than..."fascinating" Like a total germaphobe freakout maybe. A Sheldon response maybe

Is it possible though that the writers are trying to imply that Sheldon might have some deep-rooting feelings for Amy? Maybe it's just me but Sheldon has berated his friends for a lot less than that.

However I do enjoy the Penny/Amy dynamic. I enjoy their interactions a lot more than Sheldon and Amy's.

I guess one of the things that bothered me the most was the smoking monkey. I am such an anti smoking person I won't even be around anyone who is smoking...let alone a smoking monkey. So for some reason the whole scene of him being there with a smoking monkey, something I didn't think he would tolerate being around, plus the kiss with Amy seemed so out of character for him.

But other than that I did enjoy the rest of the episode.

I cant even be in the same room with y'all. I'm shocked at the disappointment from others. I so disagree there isn't even a sun or moon between us!

I do understand your bother there! While watching the scene, I was thinking to myself ''Wow, PETA will so be getting on this one!'', even thought it was very obvious that it was CGI, and there wasn't a real smoking monkey there (they even tell you as much with the vanity card in the end).

And I agree with Shel_Ra_Ho_Le, the negativity around here kinda grew quite big, it's sad, really... It feel like I'm talking about a video game I like on Gamefaqs, lately! :(

I thought this one was hilarious. Several laugh-out-loud moments; my favorite, for some reason, was Sheldon and the Greek food. His deadpan monologue while attempting to chew has me in tears laughing every time, I just can't stop watching it. :D

And of course.. the night out, the Korean driver mimicking the waltz beat, the dancing, and the tantalizingly brief kiss offset by monkey comedy. And the positively evil Sheldonesque revenge. Quite masterful.

Some people seem to have an issue with the fact that Sheldon danced or allowed the kiss, but I think the way those scenes were handled - his expressions and reactions - were quite in character. He has evolved to a certain extent socially, he does know some things because he had been taught them in his conventional Texas upbringing, and he remains, for the most part, clueless and analytical about the emotional aspect of things.

But I can't help but wonder where did the REAL Sheldon Cooper go to?

Just becoming a bit more, well, real?

That comment he made to Penny in the third season had been just polemical, I felt. He did dance at one point in the first season too. It's believable that he may have learned dancing as a youngster, given his background. And in this episode, he was almost forced to, by Bernadette's comment about the propriety of refusing three ladies who need to be escorted.

He did not have a 'germaphobe freakout' even to Beverly's kiss. I think such moments just leave him stunned. In Amy's case, he is much closer and more comfortable with her, and I had the impression that the 'fascinating' was more in response to her suggestion of 'playing dirty' with Priya. His mind was focused on that issue, and he almost seemed to ignore the kiss. Does it get more Sheldon than that?

The waltz the cab driver was reciting is the Blue Danube by Strauss. It is probably one of the most recognised waltzs and Strauss's most famous. That iconic piece of music was also used in 2001 when the shuttle docks with the earth orbiting space station.

Sorry had to get my geek on.

Liked the epsiode a lot, so much to laugh at. While not the best it is certainly up there for me. The star trek count down at the end was a hoot. I was a little confused that sheldon was quoting a orginal series epsiode but the screen layout was a Michael Okuda panel layout from Next Gen.

Hi everybody!

Does anyone of u by any chance know, what the title/interpreters of the songs in the bar are called? (the 3 girls are there with sheldon right before they want to go dancing)

And What genre is it anyway? Sounds quite nice though.

Cheers

Hello guys,

we have a big problem with translation, can you help us? Problem is, that we don't know how to translate Leonard's "Not as much as you."

Does it means: "Not as much as *I hate* you" or "Not as much as you *hate greek food*"?

Some of us thinks its ambiguity, but I don't know. What translate is better? Because in our language is impossible to use both of them. :(

Not as much as you hate greek food.

Sheldon dislikes greek food more than Leonard does. Leonard was actually eating his greek food while Sheldon couldn't even swallow 1 bite of his.

Actually I thought it was the first one the first time I watched it. But no he meant the latter... not as much as *you hate greek food*. English can be confusing, it's all about pitch and context. Other languages are much clearer.

Yeah you're absolutely right, it's Turkish. It looks like they were eating Shish kebab, which is delicious and doesn't taste like sweat at all :p Probably just a bad resturant :p

Sheldon stated that he doesn't dance, not that he can't dance. For me it sounded like he was expressing his negative attitude towards dancing, not admitted to inability do it. This is consistent with his ironic remarks about 18th century Vienna when he described his dance education to the girls.

And if it comes to his reaction to the kiss, in some episodes (especially the one about Penny's fall in the bath) it turned out that Sheldon considers himself a gentleman (and the girls made use of that when they were persuading him to 'escort' them). So, he wouldn't intentionally hit a girl, nor 'freak out' from a kiss.

One of the things, beside the lack of time, that made me move away from this forum is how intolerant some of you are with the changes of the characters. They are human, they should change like we all do, that's life and that's what make the show able to survive year after year. Sheldon is becoming more social, that's a fact, which doesn't necessarily means he will stop being himself !

and who knows, maybe Sheldon finally read the book that they got for him

in that episode where Leonard slept with the old lady

Penny kept saying "read the book we got for you"

plus Penny is a big influence on Sheldon to become more "human"
