@netmouse. I'm guessing you learned this from the TV ads for the new Zelda game on the DS.

The figure in the "king of hearts" playing card is presumed to be Charles VII of France. In most cards you'll find today, the king is pushing a sword through his head. This may allude to the fact that Charles VII went crazy before he died.

@Mouse: you've seen the ad too, yeah ?? :D

I always wondered why the King had the sword like that... I thought it was depicting the King carrying it over his shoulder, not through his head.

I's learningkt summthink today.... sweet :D

I thought like you did

haha I learned something new too

Because humans and gorillas are so closely related, diseases can be transmitted from one to another. This is the reason for glass cages at zoos and animal parks

Sheldon's email address is [email protected], which was presented in last episode The Ornithophobia Diffusion on the "looking for my birdie" postcard.

I've send there checking email and after 25 min I didn't get any report that massage cannot be delivered. Probably guys from crew or scriptrwriter :icon_lol: made some effort and prepare this prank. They are sitting in front of laptops and checking how many emails they get.

Having just done a minimal amount of research I can say with some confidence that there are more than a few S Cooper PHDs out there in the world... I suspect at least one of them is getting some unwanted mail and is developing a healthy dislike of Sheldon Cooper PHD :p

@netmouse

Thank you!

If someone want to know it:

Sheldon and Lenard live at:

2311 N. Los Robles Ave.

Apt 4A

Pasadena, CA

Source: http://wiki.the-big-bang-theory.com/wiki/Cooper,_Sheldon_Lee

That is, of course, a fake address. If you try it out in Google Maps, it tries to resolve to either San Marino or San Gabriel. In Pasadena, the road Los Robles Ave does not have a 2311 address.

I don't know if I posted this already but... whenever you sneeze, your entire body shuts down for a split-second.

Actually, this is not true at all (it's impossible for your 'entire body' to shut down--it's constantly in motion, even for a while after death). The idea that a sneeze stops your heart is up there with the ancient belief that a big "ah-choo" blows your soul right out of your nose. Both are myths with murky origins, and neither makes much sense, but is probably the inspiration for the saying "God bless you" to someone who has just sneezed.

Sneezing is really not much different than coughing. It's a protective reflex that clears the upper airway of irritants including viruses, bacteria, and pollutants.

Okay, one of my favourite trivia factoids:

Does any one know why drinks were carbonated (Made fizzy)?

The original idea was that the drinks would be self cooling. When the drink is first opened the release of CO2 causes the temperature of the drink to drop by 5 degrees centigrade.

This can be demonstrated by placing a can or bottle of soda into a freezer until its temperature drops to 1 degree centigrade. When the soda is opened it will almost instantly freeze solid as the CO2 is liberated removing any remaining "heat" in the drink... Don’t do this if you are in a hurry to drink your soda, and don’t do it over your best rug as it can get a little messy as water expands when frozen. :D

The reason this fact is not widely known is because it was introduced around the same time as affordable domestic refrigeration became available, thus making a drop of 5 degrees centigrade kind of redundant :)

Drinks are still carbonated today because "People like the bubbles" ;)

@Nagarjuna: damn, and here I was thinking sharks used their kryptonian skin cells to breath !! lolz.

After watching the season one pilot last night, I have found something Sheldon does that has bothered me.

Whilst Penny goes for a shower, Sheldon goes to the fridge to get himself and Leonard a drink.

When he opens the fridge, he does so by slotting his fingers into the side of the fridge door and opening it that way as opposed to using the handle.

Over a period of years, this method of opening the fridge results in oil build up from your fingers on the door seal. The seal dries out and cracks. This results in the fridge losing its "coldness" and running less efficiently. I know, I have a $300 bill from having to get the seals replaced !

The common culprit is small children who cannot reach the handle, so in turn, grasp the side of the door to open it.

The lesson to be learnt... USE THE HANDLE, THAT'S WHAT IT'S FOR !!!

He also closes doors not using the handle, I worry about him catching his fingers.

I would have never notice these facts lol. What sharp eyes you two have

It is not impossible for a person to lick their own elbow. A woman in the audience of QI did it on tele to prove it.

What do you think?

When is Sheldon´s birthday, an how old is he?

31-32 because in "The Russian Rocket Reaction" he mentions that in 1989 he was nine.
