milti girl Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Hmm, I like sitting in my spot, eating with my own plate, cup and spoons. I will order the same thing I ordered before in a restaurant to avoid surprises, and I don't like menus being changed around either. I'm not very adventurous about my food and I pick at it a lot. I am a bit of a grammar nazi. I don't like unnecessary touching, hugging or displays of affection (ew) though I am quite emotional myself. I tend to be VERY childish like Sheldon sometimes is. I also make up a lot of words (like Sheldon's sudden inputs of "zazzy" - I read on another thread here that making up words and using words only understandable to the person is one of the symptoms of Asperger's) and I treat inanimate objects (like teddy bears and computers) as if they had feelings... I know Sheldon doesn't often do that but he does tend to get lost in his own little fantasy world like when he mourns the loss of his WoW merchandise and he postulates strange encounters from which he must escape with his backup supplies. I don't always realise when I am being funny. Sometimes the others laugh at Sheldon when he says something ridiculous that he doesn't think is funny, such as, "Excuse me! That's the wrong usage of the word 'ho'!" Oh, and I also turn to cats for the cuddles and emotional support.
netmouse Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 As good a place as any to post this. A forum user's signature I found on a game site... "Rock is fine, scissors are overpowered." -paper

Convict13 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Could some of you OCD peeps come to my place and help me get my shite sorted out? I start organising, then get overwhelmed by stuff and never end up finishing. It's really only my garage that is the issue, but it is driving me nuts. You know the strange thing is that I am super organised at work, but at home. NOPE. I worry about my taps all the time, that they will burst and my house will get flooded, I do check them everytime I leave the house to make sure they are off and the sink is empty so the water can flow smoothly. I also find that I laugh to myself a lot, but other's ask why I am laughing, they don't find what I am laughing about funny at all. Asperger's syndrome? Doctors never said i had one but i don't like crowds and socializing very much,i'm not creepy but people make me nervous sometimes. I'm right with you there. A fair amount of social anxiety going on, the kind which makes me go and sit alone for lunch at the cafeteria sometimes, instead of joining a group I know but am not really that close to, because the conversation would be an effort. This thread is beginning to resemble a therapy session! I'm very similar, would rather sit at my desk that join others for lunch, and sometimes conversations are such an effort, that I really don't want to do. suezelda Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 I have my spot on the sofa and the kids know better than to sit there..unless they are trying to wind me up! I have to switch light switches on and off four times(done that since a child). I have a diagnoses of Bipolar Disorder and that contribute to many of my idyosincracies. I have a friend whose son has Aspergers Syndrome and we agree that often his behaviour is a little like Sheldons.

Because that happens with me. I'm right with you there. Good to find some kindred spirits on the internet.
