Master-Sephiroth
Interesting theory Mousedrop! I thought it was called ''The Big Bang Theory'' because they are geeks and physicists. In one of the earliest promos of the show, they actually used this innuendo, where Leonard talks of the actual big bang (of the universe) and Penny says cheekily, ' I think they mean the other kind of bang'. I never saw that! Link please!

Mousedroppings
I think I remember which promo you're talking about. But I realised it about when the show started and my friend made a joke about it, although at that time I didn't really watch TBBT.
Irvine
I FOUND THAT PROMO! It took me a while, but I got it! It's funny, way back then I used to see that promo everytime on the side bar, this time I found it hard to find it! Anyway, here it goes: Enjoy! No spoilers, I guess! Penny's kinda cute in it! I mean, she's still very hot and gorgeous today, but she kinda lost some of the cuteness, didn't she? I don't know, maybe it's just me! As for the main topic, the show is obviously around Leonard, is just that Sheldon is the one bringing up most of the comedy with it's mannerism, he gets a lot of screentime as well! Kinda like in How I Met Your Mother, it is supposed to be around the Ted character, but Barney gets a lot of attention 'cause he's the funniest of all! Pomita
Thanks for posting the link, Irvine. I've always loved it, such typical Sheldon right from the start (deadpan 'I have to go talk to this creator of TAAHM', lol). Slicknickshady
I think it's about Leonard. I think the Pilot makes that clear. But at the end of the day, it's about each one of the characters and there stories. I mean for example..I love a show that's titled iCarly. So it's obviously about Carly. But she happens to be one of my least favorite characters in the show. My point is.....just because a show starts out and is possibly more about one characters life than another ones...doesnt mean one characters story is any more important than the others. At the end of the day. I think the goal of the creators of TBBT is too give each of the characters a happy ending at the end of the day. They love all the characters. So it really doesnt matter to me.

Slicknickshady
Oh, then you must have seen Jim Parsons on iCarly. He was priceless as the insane futurist. Of course. It's funny, A lot of people assume i only started watching TBBT because of that. That's not true. I had never seen an episode of TBBT before that but i have had friends telling me for like a year to watch TBBT. So it was just a funny coincidence. Oh, you started watching BBT after that iCarly episode aired? That's very recent! Nice. Your avi was probably my favorite moment, apart from his getting kicked. The way he falls, and then gets up gingerly. Jim Parsons is comedic genius in every way. :D

Pretti_Epic1
Sheldon really makes the show POP! I'd say it started by centering around Leonard but Sheldon will steal the show every time.
quietmale
well if another newbie may add his opinion yes the show is centreed around leonard but on his own the show wouldnt work so the writers build him a world of three friends who he works with and so on and so on all great shows have this is common
4ofN
This has all been very interesting. I've met people who insist that the show is about Sheldon and everyone else (including Leonard) is secondary, but I've always thought it was about Leonard (which seems to be the consensus on this forum). I know that Sheldons character is a big part of the show, but to me, he is an extreme character and only secondary (and I don't think he is very nice). I am much more interested in Leonard's perspective - probably because he is very similar to me and one of the big things that drew me to the show is the fact that a lot of plot-lines involve things that happen to Leonard that have also happened to me in the real world. Same here. While I love Sheldon because he's an interesting character, I identify much more with Leonard, and the emotional issues/life situations he faces. I have a feeling that's how it's meant to be.
