Aviodingtherealworld
I don't actually mind the dynamic of Amy and Sheldon, but its the constant sexual inuendo and hitting on Penny that just get tiresome. Agreed! Seconded
lizziezhao
same feeling here. I liked her interaction with Sheldon, but now I don't like her as a main charater, I also think the show over used her to make too many stories, not that funny at all!!! I really miss the old seasons, just four cute nerds and hot penny, especially penny's part!!!!!!! no more episodes are just about Amy's stories pls!! Dabaobobo
I am so sick of Amy. It's horrible if Amy finally becomes Sheldon's girlfriend. If Sheldon has to get a girl, she should be a kind, intelligent and hot girl....not like Amy, she is so eager to have sex with Sheldon, ugly and unpleasant. So what if Amy isn't attractive out of the 3 girls, but don't call her ugly Sheldon never cared for looks, he only care for the the beautiful mind and yeah they are became a couple
Threelions
I'm 100% for Amy staying, they need to represent as many different types of females as they can just like they try to do with the guys, showing that not all girls are stereotypically "girly", but come in many social varieties. That's not something they can do with just Penny and Bernadette, who share more similarities than differences. Why do they have to do this? It's a show about four nerds and a girl who lives across the hall from two of them. Why would they have to represent all types of women or have to have main cast represent them? Should Sex And The City have introduce four main cast guys to represent all types of guys? Note not extras who are boyfriends or occasional characters, but main cast who have entire episodes devoted to them like Amy. Why do we have to ruin shows for the sake of political correctness? If we go down that route we also need a confident out going Asian man, there's no black main cast character either so that's another one we need, then of course we need to bring back Pryia and add a black female so another cast member to add. It going to get crowded. Let's not forget we had a far better example in Leslie and they got rid of her for this unfunny closet lesbian.
Dabaobobo
Sorry my comments made you unhappy. But why cannot Sheldon get a girl with beautiful mind AND beautiful body? I didn't see the beautiful side of Amy, the constant sex talking is annoying and creepy. Sheldon deserves a better girl. a I am so sick of Amy. The writers would have to make Sheldon a completely different person.
Aevitas
Sheldon stated outright before anything else that nothing would change between them physically, he just wanted to make sure Amy can't date other guys. So essentially, the only that changed is the boyfriend/girlfriend title and the exclusivity. In my opinion, Amy should've gotten a lawyer.

I still don't get why Amy would agree to the relationship agreement when it clearly states no physical contact. She clearly wants to get physical...it didn't make sense to me. I may have gained more respect for her if she just tore up the agreement and moved on to someone who was interested in her.
Aviodingtherealworld
@Aevitas: I thought she would have gotten a lawyer and it would be part of the next espisode
Aevitas
@Avoiding: Well, at the end of that episode, Sheldon said as part of the relationship agreement, she has to take care of boo-boos, and Amy said, "I should've gotten a lawyer," which implies she didn't at the time of signing. @Beecharmer: Amy actually didn't show any signs of wanting physical contact with Sheldon until the episode when Penny and Bernadette went bridesmaid dress shopping without her. During that time, she expressed she was in need of intimacy mainly because she felt abandoned by the people she considers her closest friends and she reached out to Sheldon for comfort and to fill that void during her moment of vulnerability. I'm sure she will eventually want more physical contact than outlined in the agreement, but that's why I thought she should've gotten a lawyer to negotiate the terms a little bit. I guess we'll see what happens in future episodes.
yanumga
Amy looked kind of cute to me at first. She certainly was not the 'pretty_looking' type of girl, but at some scenes she actually looked very nice. As Amy's character developed, that kind of cuteness slowly faded out. Now she looks just ugly and creepy to me. I can't find any beauty of her from inside nor outside.

The actress that plays her, Mayim, is pretty though so clearly this 'ugliness' is based on her character and not the person. Although the styling doesn't do her any favors... it's her personality that's ugly (imo).
soshimunky
Ouch. Is it because i see myself so much in Amy? I guess I might just be one of the few who really love her dearly in BBT. If she got cut out, it will feel like my left arm being cut too but I will still love BBT because i have always loved it even before Amy was introduced. I can see why some people may find her creepy and has ugly personality (though ugly personality is a little harsh in my opinion). She has characters which are completely out of the norm. I always reason this with her bad experience with other people in the past. Stuff like being bullied a lot can really damage you as a person. It's actually quite a wonder how she managed to be a successful neurobiologist despite such experiences. Amy, for me, is a wonderful addition to BBT. I actually liked the show a lot more because of her. And Mayim is such an excellent actress. We remember Amy because she's different. Do you know that she can be confident but insecure, gross but sweet, logical but emotional, all at the same time? Years in the future, i think I will always remember her as that homely scientist girl in that geek sitcom who has such a big crush on Penny (yes, Penny will always be Penny because no one will ever forget Penny, she's too sweet a character to forget). Very memorable, just like the character Blossom from years ago, and of course, Sheldon Cooper.
bramley
I live in UK. I just saw the wedding dress episode. I thought it was terrible. The show morphed from the Big Bang Theory into a version of Friends and now it has morphed again into the Amy show. Very, very sad.
Martian Girl
I am wondering why is it so important whether she's plain or not (IMO she isn't, but I'm a straight girl and a Martian one, so what do I know ). When a new male character is introduced, people rarely complain that they are 'too ugly', even if they are drifting towards becoming a romantic match for a main character. I think Amy's lack of sex appeal (in comparison to Penny and Bernie) stems from her style, which says a lot about her personality. There's a comical contrast between her conservative outfits and her liberal outlook. (Remember the episode in which Leslie changed her mind and decided to establish a family? When she visited Leonard to discuss the matter, she was dressed in a similar way to Amy's usual style.) And I feel obligated to repeat: Amy Farrah Fowler is my favourite female character of the show and I am opposed to any attempts of cutting her ! Master-Sephiroth
At first I didn't like Amy, but I'm starting to warm to her. TWhite
I like Amy a lot, she makes a great foil for Sheldon, and oddly enough, a good foil for Penny (that BFF 'crush' Amy has on Penny is, IMO more in admiration for Penny's affability, rather than anything 'overt'. I mean who of us DIDN'T want to hang around with the 'cool' ones. especially when they turned out to be really nice people?). To me, if any of the 'newer' characters don't really fit in with the show, it's Raj's sister Priya. I just don't get her, sorry to say. I'm fairly new to the show, though I've been watching the older seasons in syndication, and I'm much more comfortable with Leonard and Penny. Even if they just stay friends. But I like Amy--some of her scenes with Sheldon are so affecionately weird that I just crack up.

I have doubts that they have any such plan. They write random episodes. They don't try to follow a plot.
