Pomita
is true!! we are already married! (I'm being a bad spouse) I promise I'll behave. Now you're sounding like Sheldon. And something else on that scene with the bird flying away... Amy shows up behind him just as he sees the bird fly away, he turns to her, she says she is sorry for that, and when he turns back to the window to shout, she is still there behind him. Yes, that was one of those eternally sweet moments between them which tell us that Amy understands what he's about better than anyone else. The scene with sheldon and amy in the movie theater makes me smile every time I watch it. Love, love the look on sheldon's face while he tries to ask Amy to be his girlfriend. It was an epic moment if there ever was one, and the music gave the perfect effect of something momentous happening. The emotional, scared but determined look on Sheldon's face; Amy's controlled but obvious pleasure when he asked; the way they both kept staring at the screen, so typical of them.. it was all played with just the right mix of quirkiness and deep feeling. Kyzzx
That scene is not only great because of Sheldon and Amy, but Stuart, too. "If you're bored, you can go, I understand." "No, I'm having a nice time." "Don't patronize me..."
amshafe
I also totally agree with amshafe. I actually loved, loved the scene when sheldon touches the bird. That episode had much more meaning than just being about a bird. Sheldon did something that he was afraid of, and realized that he liked it. It's a precursor to more things to come. Yes!! I totally agree. I think that's why I'm loving this season so much. In addition to the laughs, this season has been so great in terms of character development for pretty much everyone, but especially Sheldon IMO. simonsayz
i always like Amy, she's super funny i mean there are at times, it's gets a bit ehh, but overall i give her 8 out of 10 for being funny
Pomita
There are many people out there who feel she deserves an Emmy nod this season. I'm not sure if that will happen, since the Supporting Actress category is pretty tough, but she really has pulled off some great scenes (tiara outburst, awkward cuddle with Sheldon, her interactions with Leonard in Pulled Groin, etc). My coworker and I were watching it at the same time and both said, "THAT'S NOT ENOUGH" and it was just funnier. Lol.

Bobby.e
Like all non main cast characters if she is used sparingly she is ok. Unfortunately they've been over using her which makes her become annoying. The odd video chat with Sheldon is more than enough. I agree with this person. Using her sparingly she is a great character

If you mean she deserves a Emmy for constantly hitting on penny then yeah, if she gets a Emmy nomination then Kaley needs to storm into the writers office and demand the same material or treatment for penny. BTW: Mayim's acting on the Tiara scene alone deserves an Emmy nod. If you add Isolation Permutation and Pulled Groin she deserves to win that Emmy-. BazingaFan
I just watched last night's episode again, and I have to say I really enjoyed the scene with Sheldon and Penny together, when she was holding the toy and he was fussing at her. They really need to put more scenes with those two together. I didn't realize I was missing it until I saw this episode.
wally
At the risk of offending Amy fans, I find her character to be very creepy. Not harmless and charming creepy like Sheldon, but dark and scary creepy. She's like a psychopath who could snap and murder everyone if they reject her. And she gets creepier every episode. Just my opinion.

Penny has much more attention than Amy. Amy has had two storylines this season and she is not even in all episodes, while Penny is in all episodes and has had at least 8 storylines. And why would Kaley have to react that way if Mayim gets an Emmy nod? they are not even in the same category, Mayim is in a supporting character category while Kaley is a lead. I also think Kaley is a nice person and would be genuinely happy for Mayim instead of making a scene out of jealousy.

Not sure where you can honestly say penny has 8 storylines that focus on her, and yes Amy is a supporting cast member which someone needs to remind the writers. They would be eligible for separate categories, and the point is that Amy is a much more 'comedic' character than Penny. Penny is excellent in her role, but she's more of a 'straight man', just as Leonard is. If the actors started going down that path, then Johnny should literally have burned down the writer's office after Jim's three Emmy nominations and two wins. It's Jim who gets all the great comedic stuff to do, and they're even in the same category. But fortunately, we know that the cast has a great bonding and are not even the least bit jealous of each other, leave alone resorting to the nasty rivalry stuff some fans like to suggest. And no penny is not a straight man character if the writers ever got off the butts and write for her we'd know since she's a very complex and complicated character and there's so much about her that we don't know. Being a 'straight man' character doesn't mean not being complex and complicated. It just means that she (and Leonard) are not 'absurdly funny', the way Sheldon and Amy are. Often the straight man's job is considered a tough one. And this is equally true for both Leonard and Penny. I honestly believe that Sheldon's antics would have lost half their charm without Leonard's and Penny's reactions (and this is a huge Jim/Sheldon fan speaking). But of course, seeing that you find everything about Penny to be good and everything about Leonard to be bad, I'm sure this argument is lost on you.
