True. Annie just thinks the epsiode shows them as becoming too normal. But this is what she said about the other Shenny:

"In regards to the Shenny shippers; they are dispirited and are migrating to fanfiction for their fix".

I'm sure she will explain her meaning better than I can.

But just getting a brief glance into Shenny world is... what's the word, interesting.

I guess I really should not generalize them. I think some of them are now getting the idea that this is impossible to happen within the show's universe and the reason for the increase in number of Shenny fanfiction is due to the fact that they are filling a void in canon and it's one of the ways to satisfy their need of Shenny.

As for those who are still too thick to realize it, they are holding on to every little detail and making it seems as if it's proof to their theories. For example: "He willingly sat on her bed! He must like her better because he only slept on Amy's couch and was disinterested to sleep on her bed!"

"He noticed her shampoo!"

"He went in her room! Oh, that is so romantic."

"How come every shenny scene has to be so sweet? Ugh, the writers are really laying it on so thick on the Shenny hints."

Oh God, please don't let me lose my sanity.

I wasn't on tumblr but after the show on the fanforums the shenny shippers were very upset; with Amy's 4 year plan and the Sheldon bedside scene I think now that it's been some days they're trying to regroup. Really they'd have more power if they all turned the show off & urged others to do so than uber- tweeting. But as a writer I'd still be nice & pretty thrilled to have fans so invested but Hollywood isn't a normal place. I sure as heck would never piss off my fans. Anyway Last spring Bill Prady said P/L didn't meet at the right time: so eventually I assume they'll break up late this year & that Shamy were the stable couple. So I see all this year as that of the Shamy. The ratings will predict the tale.

For me, the way I see it, it's not really about being pleased that the fans are being invested. It's the fact that these people are trying to spam you on twitter on how you should write your own show. If you already had plans and you're not the kind who accept ideas and suggestions from fans because you want to write the show the way you want it, you're going to be annoyed. In another aspect of that incident, it really does seem pretty harsh of them to put away fans, but he is human after all. He gets annoyed to and everyone do have their limits. They can't be nice ALL THE TIME.

See? They even see this as a "loophole" that Penny doesn't love Leonard and Sheldon's there to actually make a move on her because he can sense that she loves him instead of Leonard.

Talk about trying to use a teacup to save the sinking ship! I cannot disagree in reagrds to the chemistry between Penny and Sheldon, but I think the chemistry between Sheldon and Amy is there too. I do use Tumblr, but it is more silent movie related, but my younger sister has a TBBT Tumblr and I see some of the stuff that she places up and also she sends me links etc, I have to say some of the shenny stuff is clutching at straws. I cannot believe that people would harrass Bill Prady, seriously? It's commendable that they have so much love for the characters, but really you need to learn to draw the line between what is acceptable and what isn't. Perhaps get together an online petition and send that through to Bill and the others, but never harass the man.

I doubt that an online petition would do the trick, since having to give in to what a small majority of their fans want would really ruin it and that most of their fans do not even go to forums or even use the internet on a regular basis. I think it's rather unfair.

They had a discussion in LG recently about how the writers have been rude to the shenny fans. I've wanted to comment there, especially one person posted there how Bill was rude to her when she talked to him about Shenny. I actually saw Bill's tweet and it didn't even sound any close to being rude.

I still have seen more romantic interest between Raj and Sheldon then Penny and Sheldon. Raj even lived with him for a short while and Sheldon didn't want Leonard moving back! Who can forget the romantic meal that Raj prepared for Sheldon? They are both scientists and Raj and Sheldon even work in the same office! And let's not forget the amazing chemistry between them!

As far as pleasing fans go. You can't please everyone 100 percent of the time. When it comes to this balancing act the writers try to do things that aren't going to upset the majority of the viewing audience to the point where viewership start dropping like flies. The big issue with the Shenny shippers most of them have deluded themselves into believing they represent the majority....they don't. They are a small and at this point fringe minority of viewers that just happen to be super vocal about their ship. Honestly if they were to all to stop watching the show tomorrow, it would barely make any dent in the ratings whatsoever.

Harassing the shows producer isn't going to help their cause. They think if they bug Bill enough he's going to cave into their demands. That ain't happening.

I'm very surpised reading about people twitting in Bill Prady 's count, I can understand the fan fic, even the photoshop but bothering the producer of show is too much.

As DPK says most of them belive they are the majority, I remeber befero the 3rd season begun there was a lot of Shennys that said the show would loose audience if they Leonard and Penny are a couple, but the number showed they was wrong, actually the audience grown up.

I have started exploring the fan fic site. I read a couple of those shenny stories, and they are just STRANGE. They are really stretching to make something happen, and the stories are so out of character. They don't seem to understand the characters or the show at all.
