What's even more sad is that they are doing this all over a relationship that they were never promised to get in the first place.

The Romantic Shenny was created and only exists in fan-fiction written by a few fans of the show. What's really funny is The Romantic Shenny has nothing to do with TBBT tv show but somehow these few fans think it is. When Bill and Chuck were first asked this question of The Romantic Shenny they had no clue and idea what these fans were talking about thus answering all my questions. With reference to the tv show TBBT, there is no such thing as The Romantic Shenny, it simply doesn't exist. Edited January 29, 2013 by carl1970

Yes, but you always get this on TV shows. Some fans will prefer romantic pairs not featured, it's not unusual. I just leave them to it. We can't expect everyone to think the same way and if they want to come here and debate it, I will tell them what I think then. Otherwise, I really don't care what they do, or what they speculate. This thread is just pages and pages of the same thing over and over.

I experienced a lot of heavy shipper stuff while TXF was in production where people would swear up and down that if David moved his lips a certain way that Mulder was saying or mouthing "I love you" to Scully (and that dastardly Chris Carter was editing it all out), but at least in that case it was a relationship that actually existed and had the potential to blossom into something overt.

 

And I can even understand viewers of other shows wanting certain characters to develop a relationship, but to create one out of thin air and then bend over backwards to try to find hints and clues when everyone involved in the production of the show has INSISTED again and again that it ain't going there, and even having episode after episode going in the opposite direction, is just hopelessly delusional.

 

I wonder what tune they'll be singing in Shenny land after the sweeps episodes air...

I know that was sarcasm  but I just read the most ridiculos post about the new episode   from a shenny on tumblr.It was tagged TBBT btw.It's a long hilariously delusional post but the best part:

 

Penny has an over the top reaction when Sheldon says it’s possible that

he may someday get “physical” with Amy, which is for comedic effect- but

we also have a moment where she’s beating the crap out of a very

displeased Leonard (who seemingly could care less about this whole

thing) out of flailing shock. She then shows her respect for Sheldon by

saying “I know that this wasn’t easy for you and I’m really glad we

could have this conversation.” He smiles and gives her a “here’s to you”

gesture with his hand.

The funny thing is... I DO have some online Shenny friends on twitter. And you know why we are friends? Because they don't bash Leonard or Amy...and They don't make up BS about Shenny. If only all Shenny people were like that. But sadly, most of them make up things and bash the other characters.

 

Now at the Parodox site, they are bashing TPTB for saying their ships wasn't going to happen. lol. Yeah, Bash them for being Honest with the fans. lol.

Here it is... Actually one from today or yesterday depending on where you live. It's actually in that spoiler for 6.16 thread they have.

This just is so hilarious.

 

I too like the way you think. You bring up an interesting point that I

believe would make for a fascinating discussion. To what extent do you

think the writers use (either written or visual) techniques of

symbolism, metaphor, foreshadowing etc. in this show? I often question

whether I am seeing things - am I giving the writers too much credit or

not enough?

One of my favourite examples of symbolism was used in

season 5.9 The Ornithophobia Diffusion (I know - so OT and so last

year!). Anyway, a lot of people have commented that the bird in that

episode was a symbol for either Amy, Penny, or women in general. The

bird comes into Sheldon's life, he faces his fear, and ultimately

develops feelings for it. There seems to be a lot of consensus

(especially on other forums) that the bird must be Amy. I think it

clearly represents Penny. I don't support this conclusion just by

saying "look, the bird sat in his spot -a clear reference to the pilot

episode". I think the best evidence to support it being Penny is more

subtle and relates directly to the tapestry/picture hanging on the back

of Penny's door since the beginning of season 3. It is a picture of a

bird next to an outstretched hand. Actually, Penny has a lot of bird

pictures throughout her apartment. But this one takes a place of

prominence. The audience is meant to notice it. It is not hidden in

her bedroom, bathroom, or kitchen. It is on the back of her door - the

door which, in and of itself, has come to represent a special component

in Sheldon and Penny's relationship (Knock, knock, knock Penny etc). I

think the picture on her door was the inspiration for the writers for

the entire 5.9 episode. And if people open their eyes and realize the

picture exists, then the symbolism is, at least I think, clear.

Hopefully, Sheldon begins to realize that, like Lovey Dovey, he loves

her before she flies away.

Seriously, Drama is going down at that Parodox site. I love it!

 

 

There is no question we seem to be heading towards new ground with

Sheldon. If he and Amy do sleep together it pretty much hurts the whole

Sheldon and Penny can never be together talk. I'm not saying TPTB are

doing this to get the Shenny together but

...this would not be the same Sheldon that did not want to be with anyone and

was above it all. This will only increase the Shenny talk as long as Lenoard

and Penny are not married...

 

 

I'd agree with what you say from there...how the show is progressing

 

But ...the biggest appeal of Sheldon from the start was always the fact that he

was a bit of a sociopath. He didn’t understand how to properly interact

people, he didn’t understand sarcasm and he had no problems with just

abusing people absent-mindedly because he didn’t understand why he was

wrong. This was the Sheldon we found funny, the Sheldon we came to like.

Well, I have heard of Shenny shippers that admit that they have never seen the show, but they watch the Shenny-minisodes (do a search by Shenny minisode and you'll find channels that make them) on youtube and therefore, ship them.

This show is a sit-com not Doctor Who. Is not meant to be disected.The writers will change every datail whenever is needed for a zing.Sit-coms are all about the zings and nothing else.If theere are refereceses or symbolism is only for fun.There's on ulterior meaning.
