I totally agree.

Aside from the fact they are cute and lovable, I can't really explain why I ship Shamy, over the other couples.

Maybe it's something to do with their innocence (although that's no longer the case), or their nerdy/dorky-ness.

Whatever it is, I ship the Shamy hard, and am not ashamed to admit it.

The term I like to use is 'Adorkable' :)

If the Shenny's walked among us, can you imagine the fights?  Given how the Lenny's and Shamys go at it, I couldn't imagine a forum with Shenny's too. I have a hard enough time reading the FF.net description of the stories, let alone some of the posts.   Dogs and Cats living together, mass hysteria!

Shipping a couple is a personal thing, and tears at people's inner need to see themselves as one of the couples in the Ship.  We identify with one of the characters and latch on to the idea.  When they are placed with another... less than worthy... cough cough... (Penny).... then we get our dander up.  I was not on the forums when Shenny's were around.  I bet the debates were lively and also much hurt feelings.  I dont have the emotional capital to handle that kind of debate. I am still taking xanax over the Shenny kiss in the premier.  However, I can see how it made for a more well rounded forum.

I do take issue with the idea that they can be classified as "free-thinkers"  Shenny's ship their couple as hard as anyone, and just because their couple isnt canon, doesnt mean they get the free thinkers label.  I reserve that for Howaraj lovers  among us.  Now that is some out the box thinking.

I stayed away from the shipper wars then, and still do. I don't think it's my business who someone else ships. As you say, people have personal reasons for who they ship and why. I don't necessarily agree that a person has to identify with (or fancy) one half of a ship though. I don't identify with (or fancy) Sheldon or Amy and I'm a Shamy Shipper. It was the same for me with Fraiser's Niles and Daphne. Perhaps that's why I don't get so het up about Shenny, I don't take it as a personal slight if someone prefers Sheldon with Penny. (I do get het up when someone accuses others of misogyny and then misses the irony of posting the most nasty misogynistic body-shamy post I ever seen on here as "an example" though, but hey, that's another story altogether.)

A forum is a place for debate and the exchange of ideas. A forum where the ruling party's line must be towed for fear of ridicule and savaging is very much the poorer for it's lack of diversity IMO.

I can't say I differentiate between Shenny and Howarag. Both ships enjoy a fraternal or sororal relationship with a certain frisson to it. As someone who's rather canon orientated, I'd apply the 'free-thinking' moniker to both of them myself.

Personally, I didn't find Daphne particularly desirable.

I preferred Roz. She was kolobok_heat.gif

We 'know' lots do!

Was there ever a Fraiser/Roz shipdom?

I ship Reggie and Betty.  Lol!  No seriously...they'd make the best couple.

I think i take these ships WAY too seriously.  WHen I was a kid, I used to cry and cry about how Archie would play Betty off Veronica.  I hate it so much, I cant even read them.  It gets me to my core.  I think i need a therapist...

Archie was the worst.  I wanted everyone to dump him.  But I wanted Reggie to start dating Betty, and Archie get insanely jealous.  He'd want her back but Reggie and Betty were blissfully happy together.  Then Archie could spend the rest of his existence pining for her.

Don't watch Korean dramas! I suffer from 2nd lead syndrome so hard! ..If they aren't the lead, they ain't getting the girl, and they idea of romance is very different from that culture to ours.
