Penny does exactly the same when Leonard tries to be geeky. Also Bernadette with howard wanted him to hide away his geeky things when he moved in with her. Anyway so what if there are certain aspects of each others hobbies they don't like. They can always use the hobbies they jointly like to share with each other and Amy is a very likeable person and she's not going to leave the show no matter how much you want it

I think Amy and Sheldon would be a lot funnier if she wasn't so sex crazed and they went back to being "his friend who is a girl, not his girlfriend"....Amy went from being Sheldon's female counterpart to being a nympho attracted to Sheldon AND Penny.  Bernadette and Howard are fine.  Leonard and Penny just don't work....

 

The show needs to focus on Comedy and leave the relationships alone. I get that they started out as young men and are growing into 30+ somethings....but it's a 30 minute sitcom.  Keep it Funny.  I almost feel like breaking Penny and Leonard up now and getting them back together in the final season would be the best way to go.  This way you don't get swamped with too much sappy garbage.

 

Watching Raj crying in Penny's arms was gut wrenching, I wanted to just turn it off....like I was watching Lifetime TV or something...I'm glad they salvaged it by allowing him to talk to women and making it funny at the very end by him rambling on and on, but man alive....I watch this show to laugh, not hate the characters because they are pathetic saps.

Sheldon still has expressed no interest. It would violate my idea of the character as basically asexual. 

 

Amy changed her mind- instead of having no interest in a romantic relationship, she has turned into a pathetic desperate horndog with Sheldon who is a creepy lesbian minded friend to Bernadette and especially Penny. Tough noogies, Amy, go have sex with someone else!

Amy stopped making lesbian comments in season 5 and if you have watched season 6 there is no sex starved Amy, sure she might want affection but she's not putting pressure on Sheldon and there was clarification in the love spell episode that Sheldon thinks they have intimacy

How can they sleep together... I ever wonder

 

Amy likes to sleep on her own water bed and Sheldon sleeps like a vampire in a coffin wrapped up in the middle of his bed. (this is what Penny and Leonard often commented to themselves)

 

Will love do the miracle and melt down the iced behaviour of these two lovey-dovey to be?

 

How many episodes of the show will be needed to achieve that... another hundred perhaps?

 

No matter how many stories can be told and how many virtual dreams and romance we wish to see these two in bed together...we might even get fed up with the show before this is going to happen on the screen.

I do not think Amy will be out of the show. At least not for the next season 7. Unless she can't be present for reasons we cannot forsee right now. (and that can be said not just for her but any other actors on the show)

Beside is not a matter or liking or disliking her.  It's rather what the writers want to do with her... I think.

I definitely think they should, no, need to. It would be amazing. And nothing would be funnier than having Sheldon become obsessed with sex with her after their first time and leave Amy desperately trying to hide from him because of him wearing her out. But of course, the awkwardness that is Sheldon needs to still be there.

Should Sheldon ever sleep with Amy? Yes I belive their relationship will lead to this but not until maybe the penaultimate season. The first thing to happen needs to be the kiss which they teased heavily at the end of Season 6 and again in season 7. I see this event happening by the end of Season 8...there's only so long you can drag it out. Now sleeping together, given it's taken so long for a kiss I see this as being as far as we see their relationship go. This would be far more meaningful for the characters than say a wedding. I envision late on or to end the show. Sheldon finally comits to coitus as he and amy are seen heading into the bedroom, and then the scene/episode ends. I don't think it's something that should be addressed on screen but their own private moment.

As for those who dislike Amy and want her replaced, I respond with an oposition. She has been around for 4 seasons now and I think it would be a great shame for her to leave and I do think she compliments Sheldon, and would be the only woman to put up with him. I always thought that she would threaten to leave Sheldon for good which would lead to Sheldons declaration of love and the kiss.

We all know that Sheldon wants to become a cyborg so that he can become immortal. Obviously, due to his age and life expectancy Sheldon knows this is very unlikely to happen. Also, the Mobile Virtual Presence Device is only the earliest estimate of singularity. Sooner or later he's gonna have to realize that the only way to retain his superior genetics is to reproduce.

 

After only 4 months after meeting Amy they wanted to have a baby because their genetic material has the potential of producing the first in a line of intellectually superior, benign overlords to guide humanity to a brighter tomorrow. Of course, Sheldon's religious mother will never allow him to have a test tube baby.

 

This means that Sheldon will eventually have to have sex with Amy (or anyone for that matter) if he wants to retain his superior genetics. And we know that sister doesn't want to create 'Sheldon 2.0'.

 

On the other hand Amy is open to sex, despite having the same reasons for not wanting to have sex (which is messy, unsanitary, noisy and involves human contact).

 

If Amy can convince him to look at the positives (such as the possibility of enjoying it and getting Amy pregnant) and the fact the negatives are only temporary then that may also help.

 

In the end, ultimately i think they will because Sheldon hasn't really got any options of retaining his knowledge.

Well there's also the noise (unnecessary appeals to a diety) and the mess and germs are still there before the shower. Shower sex could definitely be a thing but he'd probably deem it too high risk for their first time (not that it couldn't happen after a few goes though) . It's definitely not because he doesn't have the right feelings for Amy.

IMO Sheldon will sleep with Amy. That issue has already come up multiple times. Once Penny actually asked him, they did have D&D sex plus Amy makes it clear more and more that she wants a physical relationship. What will the point of all that be if they eventually don't sleep together?? We will have a bunch of scenes that were made for them to lead somewhere like Penny's question or his confession that for him their relationship is intimate and that he is working on it that are completely useless. Not only Sheldon should sleep with Amy but he should also like it. That will be the funny thing that he was judging everybody else for their urges but when he had sex he liked it just as much. Otherwise everything that happened so far doesn't make any sense..

You can make that claim during season three, four and five. But now when Amy obviously wants to become physically intimate with Sheldon and Sheldon himself kissed Amy and liked it and also admitted that it is possible thar he and Amy may have sex some day I think that they should eventually have sex because they would both be happier that way. This whole "Amy is sexually frustrated" things is getting old and is pretty cruel when used as a joke, not to mention that this whole process of warming Sheldon up toward physical intimacy is getting kinda boring now considering how slow that is. I hope that it will happen on the show. But even if it doesn't happen I hope that they drop that aspect of their relationship rather than bringing it up constantly.

I agree that making Amy into intimacy all of the sudden was a bad move, better idea would be to keep them both progressing and warming up to each other slowly together, but it's too late to change that.

I agree. I also feel that the longer they drag it out, the more unrealistic it starts to get. I don't think they should have sex in the first couple of episodes in season 8 but they do need to give their relationship a bit more gas, so to speak.

I also sometimes get the impression from some of the writers that Amy wasn't supposed to be permanent but because her character and the couple "Shamy" became so popular really quickly, that now that they've gotten themselves on this road, they are going to have to follow it through but at the same time, they don't want to lose ANY of their fans, including the "Sheldon Purists" and the "Shennies."

I don't know ... each time I'm reading fanfics about that subject, I'm thinking "yes, this may happen in the show", but each time I'm thinking about that part in "reality", I think it's still too early.

So, should Sheldon ever sleep with Amy? Yes.

Because they already share so much together that the most they learn together, the most they grow up.

But should the writers give us Shamy sex in the season 8? I don't think so.

They need to be more connected, more intimate before.
They need to prove to the other how much they care.
They need to kiss more, to learn how to be really comfortable in that area together.

They need to exchange their ILY.

Contrary to the opinions of some fan fiction writers/readers and Shamy shippers, the world of Big Bang viewers at large are not hanging out for this event to take place. It's only my opinion, but I think most viewers just watch the show for the humour. Yes the ratings have increased since Amy and Bernadette joined the original 5, but I think it's more the funny plots the relationships and new characters have created rather than the romantic connection. I know I watch Shamy scenes for the comedy and the intelligent/witty repartee between them rather than the anticipation of whether they go beyond holding hands without Sheldon complaining. Heck, even though I like looking at Kaley, I still enjoy funny scenes with Penny far more than a two second hug or kiss with Leonard. I just don't feel any need personally for Shamy to be any more than a funny interesting and entertaining couple that make me laugh with or without each other. Yeah eventually I'd like them to end up together like Lenny and Howardette but it's not essential for the comedy. No rush for me to hear about Cooper coitus. As long as they're funny, I'm not sure the viewing public at large is that fussed either. But many disagree I'm sure.

Well I don't think that Sheldon should sleep with Amy for the ratings shake. Or to please the fans. I think he should sleep with her for the shake of the characters and the shake of the story. At this point unless Amy does another 180 I don't see how they could avoid it or avoid having Sheldon want it.

The problem is that as they are now they seem to want different things. It was funny at first I suppose. Amy wanted him and the funny is that she thinks he some kind of rock star but Sheldon is Sheldon and doesn't get it or doesn't want it. That can be funny for so long just like anything else. Bazinga is gone, Amy's fascination with Penny is gonne, sleazy Howard is gone. Whether we like it or not it has to go at some point. I would rather it would go mid season 9. I think when the tension is gone and we all accept and it's not just a big deal anymore we will still be able to enjoy Shamy. Maybr they will be funnier than they are now who knows.

Having said that I think Cooper coitus is kind of a big deal not cause Shamy is everyone's favourite or something but because Sheldon is many people's favourite. He is the one most people recognize cause of his character and him having sex is huge. Maybe that's why the first SIK is the first video on views cause it's a landmark on the show. The moment Sheldon Cooper initiated a kiss and he liked it. It could be similar with sex but it could be opposite if people think the constant reminder of how Amy wants him desperately and he doesn't is no lomger funny. But I am sure writers know how to handle this and I think the have already made up their minds on whether Sheldon will give into Amy's pressure or genuinely want it. And I think it will be the latter.
