Should Sheldon Ever Sleep With Amy

Not really.  My posts in the past were not really read.  My dislike of Shamy has been because I am a true romantic and I don't like how cold he is towards her.  While I might prefer him to have been alone long-term, make him consistently warmer toward her and I will stop objecting so much.

In one episode penny asks sheldon if he would get physical with amy in the near future, to which he replies "its a possibility" but if it does really happen, it would ruin the character of sheldon for me. Amy when she came out first, she was exactly like sheldon, "no physical contact", no forms of "coitus" but now she seems more sex starved than howard was in the initial seasons, I think atmost sheldon should just initialize a kiss first instead of amy initializing it but sleeping with her would totally destroy his character.

I've been a massive Sheldon fan for years. It was never Leonard for me, it was always Sheldon. I was open to Amy when she was first introduced. I like her as a character, because she makes me laugh but just not as a love match for him, especially the way they are writing it. As time as goes by and they try to introduce a sexual element between them, it really turns me off. It's incredibly frustrating because I LOVE this show. I'm not alone either, all my friends feel the same way about their relationship (even though none of them post here).

i think the chances of this happening are improving. There must be a limit to how much they can play the love games without resolution. Maybe it will fade into the background and just emerge from time to time..  Im not suggesting it wont be there, but maybe it will at a lower pitch. But they can't revert completely.

Eta. Idk how intensively they harvest audience data but if Shamy specifically is doing it for them then you're cactus in this regard. And I do want that to resolve becuase no one else should have to suffer for 5.5years. On that scale u have till mid s8.

Eta2. Monique has not mentioned wearing an electrode cap or sitting in a really big imaging machine for the tapings Maybe thats coming.

The only dashing moment of Sheldon (for me   was yesterday... in a rerun of the BBT show... when Penny enter Sheldon's apartment for the first time.and while complimenting him to have a beautiful mind of a genius. I think it's pretty inevitable at this point, but a long way off. I agree that it depends on how the writers handle the whole thing. For me it's rather a question of "And then what?" I think it would be better to keep the Sheldon/Amy coitus saved up until the last few epsisodes of the series.

But then my opinion's pretty rare, I think. I wouldn't even mind if we didn't get a kiss until a couple of seasons from now, as long as we got some cool Sheldon/Amy hanging out/getting into mischief scenes :D

I always thought they wasted a big comedy gold oportunity on the Season 4 finale as Sheldon was massaging himself through Amy's guidance. It would have been SO funny if someone had heard Sheldon doing those sounds and the "Amy, I've never been touched like this before" from behind the door and assumed they were having sex.Their reactions would have been totally hilarious and Amy & Sheldon not having any idea of what they were talking about would have been funny.

I don't know what happened there, but I think I missed that bit..!

First of all, the whole reason Sheldon is the way he is, against physical intimacy and all that, is because when he does something like take Amy's hand, the audience goes bonkers. What's exciting about a character who doesn't ever change and develop?

Secondly, there's no way the writers are doing all this teasing without the prospects of it eventually happening, albeit in the far future. And after this week's episode there should be nary a doubt in anyone's mind!

I know people are saying it won't happen because they just can't imagine Sheldon doing it. It's hard for me too, but he's developing all the time. I think the next big step for them is to say I love you. And my prediction is that it will be a situation where Amy gets tired of his crap and to salvage the relationship he'll tell her and she'll be all shocked and happy.

I think what everyone wants to happen is for Sheldon to kiss her. I had a (very vivid!) dream weeks ago where Amy and Sheldon were in Amy's apartment after coming home from a party where sheldon was mean to her and they're having a fight and she tells him, "Sheldon, either you kiss me right now, or we're over." Sheldon looks at her and says, "so be it then." He gets up, walks to the door, and before closing it behind him, says, "I will not be given an ultimatum, Amy Farrah Fowler."

Weeks go by and Sheldon, having been hurting over the break up, barges into Amy's apartment without knocking, and says, "Amy, I've been thinking.." He then walks over to the couch, sits down next to her, and kisses her. He then says, "if being my girlfriend means having to put my lips against your germ infested mouth, then so be it."

So yeah. It was a weird dream. I hope it happens though! I want shamy sex to happen too, but ONLY if the writers handle it tastefully. :]

Oh, we all know it will happen, the question was "should" it? And the audience seems to be divided on that.

 

As for handling it tastefully, I don't see how they can. Neither character behaves tastefully in this relationship, as it is.

I think everyone is a bit weary of it, because it's such a huge thing and sooo out of the realms of Sheldon. I don't think the writers will be dumb about it, and just throw it out there becaue it will be a shocker and because they can. Personally, before the episode where Penny and Leonard asked Sheldon if he would ever consider sleeping with Amy and he said maybe, I thought there was no freaking way. But he's progressing all the time. And sex doesn't have to just be a means of intimacy, There are other things, like reproduction, that may be appealing to Sheldon! Or maybe Amy will come across a study at work that shows that sex will improve your focus at work or something, haha. And we all know Sheldon wants to improve his work. You just never know.

 

And Lissie, I may just do that! I am no stranger from the fanfiction world. I love writing haha. But a shamy fic would be so hard because my language is so different from theirs. :]

I personally love Shamy. I'm not sure about them sleeping together but I think it would be nice if they got a little more intimate slowly like more hugging, kissing etc but not too much otherwise Sheldon's character would be ruined. And I think Sheldon would have to be uncomfortable about it and only want to do it for Amy.

The thought of Amy and Sheldon sleeping together is scary....he seems very fond of Amy...but I think  his affection is purely cerebral....for instance, when he wanted to have a baby with Amy created in a petri dish, he never contemplated Amy carrying the child.....when he asked the girls to include Amy in the bridesmaid dress shopping, it was because he was trying to escape having to cuddle Amy....even in the tiara episode, he felt maybe the tiara was a bit too much when she hugged him (and he looked far from pleased).....when Amy kisses him, he doesnt resist, but he doesn't look moved by it, let alone responsive.... the spanking episode seemed more about her getting thrills and him just treating her like a bad child rather than as something kinky....the lovespell episode is also an example....he plays the love spell round with her because she was upset.....he like her and cares about her, and is maybe even possessive to the extent that he likes her company and conversation and doesn't want to lose the time they spend together...but I really don't see actual physical chemistry between them..

I definitely think they should eventually have sex (and believe that they will.) I think it should happen after they're married. And I have a fan fiction to that affect happening in my head, and I'm so thrilled just at the prospect, lol.

 

Not only is it something I would just love, I think it would be totally character-consistent.

I seriously hope Amy is somehow written out of the show because she is an insult to female geekdom... Sheldon is one of the best characters on the show...they should find someone better for him...I would love for it to be a geek girl....but someone more realistic and nicer than Amy (someone who at least shares common interests with Sheldon and enjoys time in the comic book store instead of criticising it)....

I think it won't happen until the show, like some have said already, is winding down. The last season, maybe the last few episodes.   I like the idea of them getting married without having sex first. The traditional, religious values kind of quietly being part of Sheldon (although he never would admit it). However, I do think it should happen. He and Amy need to have little geniuses running around in some sort of epilogue type thing. He needs to have that immortality that children bring. The only other route is for him to become obsessed with installing himself in a computer (or something similar) which might be a fun thing to play with in a few episodes but is entirely too cliche and boring.
