LuckyM
I'm not sure if CBS has released anything about this episode yet. I went to see them film this, though, so here's some information from me. Sara Gilbert guest stars in this episode. Leonard, Sheldon, Wolowitz and Koothrappali decide to enter the university's Physics Bowl, a game where two teams buzz in to answer questions about physics. When Sheldon starts to annoy everyone, he gets kicked off the team and they invite Leslie to be their fourth member. Sheldon forms his own team consisting of himself, the third floor janitor, the lady from the lunch room, and the lady from the lunch room's son, in an attempt to prove he can beat Leonard's team all on his own. Tripper
Thanks for that LuckyM. CBS hasn't announced it yet, we think it will air April 14th or 21st as there is a rerun this week.
pengyfelix
My TiVo listings have the 4/14 episode title listed as "The Jerusalem Duality" with no episode description. I am confused.
LuckyM
When I went to see this filmed I had assumed it was episode 13, because that's what made sense based on their previous filming dates. When I got a script from this episode, though, it said 1.12 on the front cover. My best guess would be that they made a typo on that week's scripts. (Not surprising, seeing as their handouts said it was 2007.) I changed the number on the thread to 1.13. Sorry for the confusion. My bad.

Tripper
Sorry for the confusion, I've checked and this episode 1.13 will air April 21st. We have episode 1.12 "The Jerusalem Duality" to air April 14th. CBS only just announced episode 1.12.
PapSmear081
I thought this was the worst episode of the season so far. Funny jokes were few and far between and overall the plot just fell flat on it's face. I hope normal service will be resumed in the next episode. Kerryl64
I agree, It seems like what was once a promising, intellegent, DIFFERENT comedy has now gone to all the old pratfalls and stupidity that rein in the "traditional" sit-com. As they have idiotized Sheldon and made him seem more stupid and childish it has cheapened the humor. PLEASE, if any writers dain to read these fan sites, PLEASE bring back the humor you started this series with!
pengyfelix
Agreed. When the series first started out, I explained Sheldon to a friend as "It's like everything he does in a social setting is because someone told him that is what you are supposed to do," e.g. bringing Leonard a cup of tea because "The social convention is to bring people warm beverages." That was funny. Now, the social awkwardness seems like him knowing social conventions and disregarding them anyway. That isn't funny; that is being an egotistical jerk. The pre-strike episodes were much funnier and more intelligent than this crop. I hope the show gets back to that.
Dr. Sheldon Lee Cooper
Does anyone know how the equation on the flat screen is at Physics Bowl? From: Google Translater
netmouse
@Dr: found this on a BBT trivia site... The final question in the physics bowl is the so-called first-order Feynman-diagram for the electromagnetic scattering of an electron with a muon combined with its associated amplitude-formula. The Feynman-formalism is the key-element in modern particle physics, so it is impossible that none of the PMS-guys recognize it and even Sheldon is not able to solve a calculation that could actually be given as homework to a physics student in his third or fourth year. Also, the given answer 8πα is actually not the correct solution to the given formula. [edit]
bruin
Noticed this during a re-run this week. While discussing who to replace Sheldon with on their Physics Bowl team, Raj says "Do you know who is apparently very smart, the girl who plays TV's Blossom" Surly in season 1 someone had an eye on Mayim for a future role in the series? Leonards answer was "Raj, we're not getting TV's Blossom to join out Physice Bowl Team"

Leonards answer was "Raj, we're not getting TV's Blossom to join out Physice Bowl Team" Did they make a similar joke somewhere about Danica McKellar from the Wonder Years being really smart? I may have just imagined that...
netmouse
@Europa: yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Pretty sure Winnie never gets a mention prior to her appearing in that episode like Mayim did.
phantagrae
I think there was a mention of WInnie from the Wonder Years--I don't think I knew that she had actually been on the show... I do remember the Blossom thing, though. What kills me about this thread is that the show was barely in it's first dozen eps and already people are complaining about how it's changed and how Sheldon has changed... Wow. The funny thing about this that Mayim's PhD was meantioned see Yet Mayim has said that Bill Prady said "Is this for real" when he saw the reference to her PhD on her resume. She first appears in s3e24 so I would have thought they would have been into season 3 by the time she did her audition? see from about 2:20 for "is this for real" comment

BlackWhiteRose
Sheldon should have corrected him about that. Weird that he didn`t. Anyway: Was a great episode. Loved those dialogues: Howard: They formed a barbershop quartet, and got a gig playing Knotsbury Farm. Penny: Wow, so in your world, you’re like, the cool guys. Howard: Recognise. And this one: Leonard: This is our year! With those guys out, the entire physics bowl will kneel before Zod. Penny: Zod? Howard: Kryptonian villain. Long story. Raj: Good story. (Clasps hands to mouth in shock.) Sheldon: Well count me out. Howard: What? Why? Sheldon: You want me to use my intelligence in a tawdry competition? Would you ask Picasso to play Pictionary? Would you ask Noah Webster to play Boggle? Would you ask Jacques Cousteau to play Go Fish? Leonard: Come on, you need a four person team, we’re four people. Sheldon: By that reasoning we should also play bridge, hold up a chuppah and enter the Olympic bobsled competition. Penny: I want tickets to that please. Leonard: Sheldon, what, do I need to quote Spock’s dying words to you. Sheldon: No, don’t. Leonard: The needs of the many. Howard: Outweigh the needs of the few. Sheldon: Or the one. Dammit, I’ll do it. And I loved the practise round. It was so much fun. And the real physics ball was cool too. Loved the scene with Leslie Winkle and Sheldon: Leslie: Hello, Sheldon. Sheldon: Leslie Winkle? Leslie: Yeah, Leslie Winkle. The answer to the question, who made Sheldon Cooper cry like a little girl? Sheldon: Yes, well, I’m polymerised tree sap and you’re non-organic adhesive so, whatever verbal projectile you launch in my direction is reflected off of me, returns on its original trajectory, and adheres to you. Leslie: Oh, ouch. And this one too: Leonard: Here’s your tee-shirt. (Hands her a tee-shirt with PMS on it. Takes jacket off to reveal similar.) Leslie: PMS? It’s a couple of days early, but… Leonard: No, it stands for Perpetual Motion Squad. Leslie: Oh, right, of course, what was I thinking? *LOL* Leslie And this one: Third Floor Janitor: The answer is minus eight by alpha. Sheldon: Hang on, hang on a second, that’s not our answer. What are you doing? Third Floor Janitor: Answering question. Winning physics bowl. Sheldon: How do you know anything about physics? Third Floor Janitor: Here I am janitor, in former Soviet Union I am physicist. Leningrad Politechnica. Go Polar Bears. Sheldon: Well that’s a delightful little story, but our arrangement was that you sit here and not say anything, I answer the questions. Third Floor Janitor: You didn’t answer question. Sheldon: Hey look, now maybe you have democracy now in your beloved Russia, but on this physics bowl team I rule with an iron fist. (Makes fist in the air). Ow! Poor Janitor *LOL* Loved his " Go Polarbears" *LOL* And that dialogue was funny: Leonard: Sorry, somebody’s sitting there. Sheldon: Who? Leonard: My Physics Bowl Trophy! Sheldon: That trophy is meaningless, I forfeited, therefore you did not win. Leonard: I know someone who would disagree. Sheldon: Who? Leonard: My Physics Bowl Trophy! (In weird voice) “Leonard is so smart, Sheldon who?” Sheldon: Alright that is very immature. Leonard: You’re right, I’m sorry. (In voice, waving trophy in Sheldon’s face) I’m not! *haha* Leonard was so amusing *LOL* And that popquiz at the end was fun too. Does Sheldon really think that Shatner or Patrick Stewart are sexy? *LOL* Sheldon, Sheldon *haha* yeah maybe for him *LOL* That one was fun too: Penny: Alright, singer who sang “Oops I Did It Again.” (Sheldon starts involuntarily twitching again.) Okay, Tweetie Bird, taught he taw a what? Sheldon (after they pass a smug look between each other): Romulan. Penny: Yes. He taught he taw a Romulan. (Sheldon and Leonard do a victory hand slide.) Poor Penny *LOL*
