no more amy. just a thought. The greatest age of The Big Bang Theory was the original 5 leonard, penny, sheldon, howard, raj that's it with occasional one night stands and hook ups. NO MORE AMY NO MORE BERNADETTE. it's not that there bad characters it's that they are interfering with the show. the show was made on 4 simple beautifal pillars

1. nerd/normal contrast

2. sheldon

3. penny/leonard

4. nerd/science stuff

who decided to make this 90210 you are running away from the original concept. now you ma want to argue "we have high ratings" you have high ratings from your momentum that's it. you cant have 1 becuase there are too many people 2 sheldon was best with penny 3. there is no more becuase amy is always making pervy comments to penny.

4 no more science stuff becuase it's relationship

PLAN

sheldon ditches amy (vice-versa?)

bernadette leaves howard on the altar (kids, money, space)

They are a couple. They fact that they are not the kind of couple you prefer doesn't mean they are a fail as you call it. No couple is like another. What doesn't work FOR YOU will work for someone els

Shall we start a thread entitled YES MORE AMY ?

In your opinion--why do you think their relationship is a "big FAIL"?   What about it is a failure?  They are intellectually compatible, they enjoy each other's company, they appreciate each other's

thank you for the link. I agree with the first about groth but does growth require new people. leonard, sheldon, wolowitz, penny, raj are all differnt if you are to conradict me i dare you to watch the first season.

I don't agree with this growth thing. Look at Friends, ten seasons and at the end the characters were very recognisable as themselves. They went through many different experiences but were basically the same characters. No one was added to the cast and even major extra characters like Ross's second wife and Pheobes husband were kept to a bare minimum. They kept the basic premise and dynamic throughout the entire ten seasons. It's a sitcom not a soap or drama there isn't a massive need for character growth.

Amy is the reason I haven't watched the last episode or two, it just got too much and had become the Amy show rather than The Big Bang Theory.

i actually disagree best amy was season 4 as opposed to season 5 who didnt love the herb garden germination? good point about friends (the show). secondly

while amy isnt a bad character she's sould be used less.

thirdly if i asked the question who likes leonard/sheldon youre going to get close to 100% positive same with most characters. a 50% like isnt good amy is around the 50% meaning that she is a coin flip it would be interesting to see an episode without her. thirdly what the fuck happened to leonard he normal not a geek anynmore. fourthly have you ever noticed there is no more scenes at the university (other than raj's thing with siri)

and fifthly there is no best season i can find at least 10 episodes from every season that we amazzing (season 5 is not over so it does not count)

I have to disagree. I really love Amy, and I think she brings out a side of Sheldon that is refreshing to see. I am convinced that Sheldon and Amy are soulmates, especially after watching the 'Fun with Flags' episode, and I hope she sticks around for a long time.

amy is a character which you either love or hate. which bad because that measn the writers both have to use her and cannot use her. and im sorry fun with flags was the worst WORST 3 minuetes of the big bang theory i have ever seen (i have all the episodes) and i say end of season 5 she might be gone

I can see how the episode would annoy some viewers, but I thought it was really cute. :) I am sorry you don't like Amy, but I think she is going to be around for awhile. The only way I can see them getting rid of her is if Mayim Bialik does not want to do it anymore. A lot of people are diggin The Shamy. Well, everyone except for Shenny Shippers and those who never liked her to begin with, that is.

agreed but if i asked you if sheldon should be cut from the show or leonard i will get a 100% repsonse of no. amy dosent have that and i dnt she will ever. i really liked her in season 4 (The zazzy substitution, the herb garden germination) my problem with amy is that they seperated the girls from the gys in so many episodes and i love the original five. amy annoys me every time with penny but i really digg the shamy. it's an intresting thought that i think amy and shedlon will break up and that will cut her out of the script

It is completely understandable to prefer the original 5. My perspective is the exact opposite of yours. I was leery of the additions of both Amy and Bernadette when they were first introduced for the very reasons that you mentioned: I didn't want the foundation of the group of 5 to be disrupted. However, over time, I have grown to love both Amy and Bernadette because I think they add depth and character development to Sheldon and Howard.

I see 'Shamy' going either way. Either breaking up or getting married, but it depends on Mayim. IF Mayim decides to stay for the long hall, then I bet 'Shamy' will be the endgame. They may break up for awhile, but I think it is obvious that they are starting to slowly expand Sheldon's horizons in the physical intimacy department and they will find themselves back together. I also think that the time is going to come where Sheldon is going to have to either step up or step out, so to speak.

LOL. Okay, I admit I wasn't being completely serious when I said Sheldon and Amy would get married. It just seems like something the writers would throw in as a season finale shocker-twist, just because nobody would be expecting it.

The funny thing is that I can actually imagine them getting married before doing the deed, even though I know it likely won't happen. lol. Jim Parsons even said he could see them having a test tube baby together before having sex. They are an unconventional couple, and you never know where they are going to go with them. We still have a long way to go before the end of the series. Who knows what they have in store for the characters.

If Mayim sticks around for the remainder of the series, I can see 'Shamy' being the endgame after a few twists and turns. They are already starting to "evolve" Sheldon. He is starting to be okay with Amy touching him and getting close to her. This leads me to believe they have something bigger planned for them.

Plus, Amy isn't as comfortable with physical intimacy as she claims to be. She is okay with flirting with Penny because she knows it doesn't mean anything deep down, but she is still relatively shy when it comes to Sheldon. I know she has proposed "coitus" a couple of times, but she gets very nervous when actually touching him most of the time. Her words and her actions don't quite match up. So I don't think the intimacy gap between Amy and Sheldon is as big as people think it is.

I like the idea of the plot twist. but sheldon is still not fine with phsical intimacy remember The isolation permutation remember how pissed off he was at howard and leonard becuase "thier women were out of line" physical intimacy will never be a good thing with sheldon.

You can cite leonard as a good example for charcater devolpment he is not a geek at all really. but sheldon is sheldon nothing can or will change that.

married yes drunk sheldon having sex perhaps but normal sheldon still the same

Those are good points, and I agree that I don't want Sheldon to change too much because I love him the way he is, but I think it is only natural for him to evolve somewhat. It is already starting to happen...slowly. I have not only noticed changes in Sheldon's interactions with Amy, but also with Penny and Leonard.

As for the cuddling fiasco you mentioned, Sheldon may not necessarily like being touched, but the fact that he tolerates it with Amy is a hint that he is opening up. I saw his blow up with Leonard and Howard slightly differently. Yes, he was inconvenienced by "a night of harp playing and spooning with Amy", but he also got on their cases because she had been upset by Penny and Bernadette's actions. Sheldon may be a closed book in the emotions department, but he does genuinely care about Amy. He worries about her, he gets jealous over her, and he cares about making her happy. He may not be comfortable with physical intimacy, but that doesn't mean feelings for Amy aren't there. It is possible for an asexual person (if that is what Sheldon truly is) to love someone without wanting physical intimacy. I mean, after that blow up at Leonard and Howard, the very next scene we see Sheldon running off to help a drunken Amy, leaving his lego death star behind without a thought... I think our Sheldon is starting to grow up a little bit...:)

what people seem to be blind with is tht the caracter only started devoloping in in seson 4 and 5 season 1 sheldon and season 3 ssdd. I think Amy should stay - relationships are a normal part of everyday life (although seemingly not part of Sheldon's life). By keeping Amy in the series, her and Sheldon's 'relationship' gives something everyone can relate to, even though it may be more dysfunctional than most.

It also gives Sheldon room to grow and provides countless laughs when we see how clinical they go about being boyfriend/girlfriend (e.g. having a set date night on the 2nd Thursday of every month, or every 3rd Thursday in a month with 5 Thursdays). Plus, the antics between Penny and Amy are always funny :)

I disagree about their relationship being dysfunctional. If anything, they have the most stable relationship of the three on the show. They are both just new at it and learning. Of course they fight, but they always find a way to make up. Like others have pointed out, they understand each other on an intellectual level and have a mental connection. That means they have the potential to have the most intimate relationship of all.

When I said it may be dysfunctional, I meant it precisely for the reason you stated - they're both new at relationships and are going through it learning together about what to do/not do etc. I'm sure many people remember what their first relationship was like, or even what their current relationships are like, and it's interesting to see the 'social rules' that Sheldon and Amy are learning, such as taking an interest in another's accomplishments etc. I never said that they fight more than others or that they don't understand each other - it's just the concept of being in a relationship and what that entails that they're learning

Oh, okay. I see. We just have different definitions of what "dysfunctional" is.
