3ku11
Well people say Sheldon and Penny have a brother-sister type relatonship because it is true, it is very maternal. They are not dating they are just Friends, so it is a platonic friendship. And regardless if Leonard never met Penny in the pilot, and say Penny met Sheldon in the laundry room for example in the Pilot, even then Sheldon and Penny would never be romantically involved with each other. The only way I can see it happening is if the writers changed every characteristic, qualities of Penny and Sheldon and changed them completely, that is the only way I can see them working as a couple, and TBH that would destroy the show. So I love their interaction, but nothing well change the cannon relationships in the show Lenny, Shamy, and Howard And Bernadatte Howardatte? BangerMain
Whether you found it creepy or not, it was how TPTB presented it to us. As for how you treat your partners, if my wife tried to treat me like her child we would be looking for new spouses, if it were to the extent that Penny took it. If a woman wants a child she should have one, not marry one. That's how it is and always has been. I can't think of a time when Penny acknowledged Sheldon as an adult male, with or without a sexual component. As Steve Malaro said recently, Penny and Sheldon have a Brother/Sister or a maternal/ child relationship. That's how they have always written them and it has been a very funny relationship because they are free to say anything to each other without the burden of sexual expectation. Sheldon can give her the vilest insults because, unlike Leonard, he wants nothing from her. As a guy, it's still shocking to hear a man say these things to such a gorgeous woman. Of course in real life Penny would have demanded that Leonard either moved away from Sheldon or get the hell out of her life. I do agree with that but if their is anyone in the group who has a grasp on socialization it is Leonard, and Sheldon gives Penny the vilest insults partly due to the fact he is so socially inept haha, but your right Sheldon has always cared less about Social dynamics, apart from his rule about the Social Convention of offering Friends bevarages Thing about Lenny is even though he developed a crush on her in Season 1, they also developed a friendship, and that built deph into their relationship even before they started dating, one of the reasons why their relationship is so strong now in S6-S7. And Penny has never portrayed or seen Sheldon in the same capacity she generally perceives other males, she has always been confused about his deal like most people are, Penny see's him as almost grown man, but socially almost very child like, hence the reason why she treated him as such in that DL Ep, which was funny the way Leonard and Penny acted like they were a seperated couple dealing with the custody of their kid. Shenny is based on this dechatomy of two opposing worlds coliding, and it has brought alot of comedy in the show, but anyone thinking it well ever develop romantically, that's fun to think of in an almost alternate reality, but current reality it well never happen they just woulden't work. Like I said imagine Penny and Sheldon dating when she is driving him to work, she would kill him! Literally lol. Count Wally de Honk
This thread is about as ridiculous and pointless as a “Should Amy be with Sheldon” thread would be on the Shenny Paradox site... Or as Blackadder would say, for its purposes this thread is as effective at a cat-flap in an elephant house.

Nogravitasatall
Idk, he goes back and forth on the whole girl friend thing. (NB I'm sure he will commit further in s7, depending the roll of the dice).

Nogravitasatall
Alanis Morisette's song was about coincidence, I thought. But it's no coincidence that this thread keeps spinning. But I can't think of the appropriate song for spinning. There is a Fawlty Towers bit, "don't mention the war", that might fit.

Count Wally de Honk
It was about a series of irritations! It should have been called "Isn't it a Pain in the Arse?" I was watching Fawlty the other night, where the psychiatrist visits, and Basil ends up leaping about on the floor with his jacket over his head. It stands up incredibly well, comedy-wise! I'd feared the editing might drag, my mind having been spoiled and debauched by all the flashy modern editing, but no! Very sharp. Sursonica - with you on the red wine and weeping mate! Though I presume you mean for different reasons. I'm sure, however, we all cry because people are stupid and it makes us sad.... Count Wally de Honk
The "T" has devolved into mutual self-congratulation on having the same opinions. It's not a genuine debate. Repeat; This thread is about as ridiculous and pointless as a “Should Amy be with Sheldon” thread would be on the Shenny Paradox site... Or as Blackadder would say, for its purposes this thread is as effective at a cat-flap in an elephant house. But you're quite right. I'll keep my dipsomaniac stories to other threads. Count Wally de Honk
Ah, but this forum is officially neutral when it comes to ships. We're Switzerland. You may be Switzerland, but you've got about three armies rampaging about on your soil. Scratch that, two armies (Shamovich and Lennwaffen), bearing down on one poor sod in a cardboard hat, carrying a slingshot (MacShenny). There's also a poor bastard trying to cook his dinner who invariably gets either shot in the crossfire, or indigestion from all the noise. (this would be everyone else.) The point I was trying to make, is that it's less a war, and more of a sort of MacShenny genocide around these parts. For all in tents and porpoises. I like your chocolate, by the way! Wines also. Disclaimer - Metaphor may not be historically accurate. Also I'm more of a hydrid....A poor bastard in a cardboard hat and tinfoil kilt trying to cook his dinner. I moreover have friends among the armies but we've called a Christmas truce, to further confuse the labored scenario.... And I see someone's shouting at me in CAPS.
