and the werewolf episode kinda showed that he is.

the way he walked and threw his jacket during the scene where he said "my seat, your seat"

and Jim is engaged to his long time boyfriend

It doesn't matter what his sexual orientation is. Jim plays a character on the show. Sheldon is not gay and nobody has suggested or stated that Jim wants Sheldon to be a gay character. So, it doesn't look as if the one is affecting the other.

Fisrt of all, none of the responses you got 'flamed' you. One asked why it mattered? The second said you were going to attract a lot of hate. And mine pointed out that there doesn't appear to be any overlap between Jim Parson's sexual orientation and the way he chooses to portray Sheldon Cooper.

As for this being news. It isn't news at all. It is known openly and is not something Jim Parsons chooses to deny or make a point of putting it in the public spotlight. He lives his life openly while maintaining as much privacy as he can on a personal matter. That he chooses to keep his personal life private, and doesn't crave media attention around the clock is something else I admire about the man.

If you want to have a discussion then you're right, these forums are certainly the place for that. If you're going to argue with the responses, then post something positive about Leonard and fight with cbolt.

Even though it is not official, I agree that he probably is, since you can see his friend (partner) Todd is with him at the ceremonies. He is talented, attractive, funny and seems to be an all-around good and humble person. That is why I like him. Yes, I have a great appreciation for his attractive qualities, but since I am married, it really doesn't matter anyway. It is all just in fun!

I don't know how much you can read into his sexuality in anything "Sheldon" does. The ridiculous thread about Johnny Galecki being gay found characteristics which apparently pointed to him being gay, a claim which seems to be entirely false.

Our minds often just notice things which fit into our pre-conceived notions. Without the reports about his personal life, would we really be discussing how Jim Parsons as Sheldon walks? Probably not.

well it wasn't just the walk he did, it was how he walked and threw his jacket...i live in NYC, so there are a lot of gay men flaunting so i guess i spotted it lol

Given that Jim's performance as Sheldon is pretty well-thought out and orchestrated (both in the writing and acting), I don't think that specific gesture was just a throwaway, unintentionally gay mannerism. It was Sheldon's way of showing a helpless, forced I-don't-care attitude (following his emotional disturbance due to the haircut failure). Hence the somewhat dramatized casualness, going with his dialogue about indifference towards his spot.

If it were due to bad acting (Jim's own mannerisms creeping into Sheldon), it would have come across that way much oftener.

i don't really follow up on gossip magazines or anything, i just enjoy the show.

im a fan but don't go through their lives as it's my priority. i enjoy well written stories as well as learning things about the universe and how our world works.

im actually not a fan of NPH, but i do see that he is a good actor

i have too many things going on in my life so yeah

i understand the i-don't-care attitude, but the way he did showed the "gay" or rather feminine side..cuz i know many people who are in the "i don't care" mood don't do that...i mean yeah not many people picked it up...

but i picked it up cuz it was sorta odd to me

Well, I don't exactly have access to gossip magazines either, but news/rumors like these are so in-your-face. I mean, I go to one Jim interview or even TBBT clip on youtube, and more than half the comments below would be about his sexual preference. It's actually irritating, because it's the least interesting thing to be talking about, regarding him.
