I am sorry mayim bialik but this has to be done you are ruining sheldon.

Ok everyone post how you think the writers should kill off Amy farrafowler.

I think that she should be beaten too death by one of the reecis monkeys that she constantly tortures (havent a clue if I spelt that right)

If you think Amy should stay say why and don't say the characters have to grow because grow doesn't mean change.

If you love penny Holla

I don't think she should be killed off the show completely. I think she is very good for the show, as long as her appearances aren't too much the center of attention of every episode. I like her the same as I like Howard's mom and all the parents of the other guys.

Well "killing" Amy would not go down well with the "Shamy" fans. I liked how Amy was the exact opposite of Sheldon when she was first introduced to the show, now she is just annoying. How about guest appearances ? She can go out of town for some project of her's and chat with Sheldon via Skype.

It probably wouldn't go down well with a very large percentage of the 15 million viewers.

What????? :icon_eek:

I actually want to see their Skype chats again. And she doesn't need to go out of town for that, they enjoy electronic communication anyway.

amy is just mirror image of sheldon, so that the girls will have their own sheldon too. But amy, in this way, takes jokes that would better be saved for sheldon's use. and she causes there to me more all female scenes, which are not funny.

so, get rid of amy by sending her to study in germany

I like her, and she is the perfect woman for Sheldon. Sheldon is not an emotionless robot or a Vulcan, no matter much he may sometimes act. He is human, and has such he does have emotions and he does have feelings for Amy. I and many others enjoy seeing him coming out of his shell and exploring his feelings with her.

There'd be a lot of upset people if Amy left the show, but I feel like there'd be just as many people cheering.

I don't want her to die, but I hate the Shamy relationship and what it's doing to Sheldon, and I also hate that Amy gets more screentime than some of the original characters. If she appeared every so often, I'd be fine with that.

Amy could finally marry Faisal, her Saudi fiancé. Then she could just come back as the occasional guest star via skype.

Amy as part of a "Harim" now that would be interesting and IMHO some of her best scenes have been via skype think your on to something :icon_cool:

Guest I'm not dead Cheryl

this is freakin' ridiculous. I'm sorry but this is just stupid.

Really? making a thread on "how should Amy die?" Pathetic. She's staying on the show, deal with it. She's Sheldon's girl, deal with it.

I'm sorry if she shatters your Shenny dreams or your dreams of leaving Sheldon forever alone and therefore unchanged and sad and crazy 50 yr old who lives in Leonard & Penny's attic.

The Amy hate is getting ridiculous, but thank goodness it is always the same 4-7 haters. All the Amy hate polls, always end up in "keep Amy", "Amy should stay".

The ones that should die are the Amy hate threads

How do I want Amy to die? I don’t want Amy, or any other main character on TBBT to die. This is not a drama, or even a dramedy. TBBT is a comedy and killing off main characters is not an ingredient that appeals to me in a comedy.

There are not many instances of killing off main characters that come to mind when I look back at the comedies I’ve enjoyed. M*A*S*H killed off Henry Blake when the actor (Mclean Stevenson) decided to leave the show. Since he was leaving, and the show was set in the Korean War, this actually made sense. It was also written in a very dramatic and somber way. All In The Family killed off Edith Bunker, again because the actor (Jean Stapleton) decided to leave the show. I don’t recall how much humor the episode had, but that show was never lighthearted in the manner of TBBT. Good Times killed off the father, James, when John Amos left that show. That character, though featured regularly, was not central to the show. Intentionally or not, the show had become Jimmie Walker’s vehicle to showcase J.J. Evans. Two and a Half Men killed off Charlie after Charlie Sheen lost his mind and was fired, or left the show. I suppose it depends on who you believe. Charlie’s death was written as comedy. Dark and mean spirited comedy, but it was funny. Some people may want to reference Susan on Seinfeld, but she was not a main character on the show.

I’m sure there are others but these are the ones that come to mind. Admittedly, until TBBT my sitcom viewing days had pretty much ended with Home improvement. If Mayim decides to leave TBBT they may try to find a comedic method to kill of the character. None of the deaths above with the exception of Charlie Harper were used as comedy, and comedy is what I watch the show to see.

There is a repeated theme on the forums that supposes that the show would return to the setup of seasons 1-3 if Amy and Bernadette were gone. This seems unrealistic to me. Leonard has been in a variety of relationships throughout the series. Howard’s character has fundamentally changed and it is hard to imagine him returning to the dog that he was pre-Bernadette. The old Howard was the type of person that probably would have ended up alone, in a filthy apartment, surrounded by porn that would make Larry Flynt want to throw up. Sheldon is still Sheldon. The Shamy has not changed Sheldon. It has made him reexamine some of his presuppositions and consider other possibilities pertaining to relationships. He is still self-centered and narcissistic. He still looks at everything from a decidedly Sheldon centered perspective. He is torn between doing his own thing on his own schedule or letting Amy fawn over and pamper him. I see this as being totally in keeping with the Sheldon we know. Getting rid of Amy would reduce Sheldon to the level of Raj; sitting alone in his apartment longing for company while Leonard and Howard pursued their romantic interests. Or, Sheldon could hang out with Raj, while Raj complains about wanting to spend time with a woman instead of Sheldon. Sheldon claims that he is content by himself. This has been demonstrated to be untrue. When the group shifted their gathering place to Raj’s apartment, Sheldon tried to create a new circle of friends with Stuart, Zack and Kripke. They had fun wrong and he went looking for the comfortable group that he knew, and needs.

Amy has had some great scenes. Some with Sheldon and some with the other girls. Any scene she has with the girls takes away episode time for the guys. That means less time for the nerdy, science, game, or comic centered stuff. This is a valid complaint from people that would prefer to see that instead of the girls. I don't disagree. But, as stated above, I think that cat is out of the bag and it won't willingly go back in.

Amy does not need to die. Bernadette does not need to die. Neither, nor both, will return the show to a format fondly remembered by some viewers. To quote Billy Joel, “The good old days weren’t always good, and tomorrow ain’t as bad as it seems.†TBBT is a work in progress. Sometimes it’s a masterpiece, and other times it would gain a ‘what the hell is that?!’ response. What it will be when finished is something we will all have to wait to see.

+100!

Amy moving to a palace in Saudi Arabia would be perfect, as Amy was at her funniest when she was skyping with Sheldon, so they can continue skyping when she's stuck in a harem.

Think about the comedy potential! Amy can do all kinds of monkey experiments on the harem inhabitants, and Sheldon can explore his feelings of jealousy and realize that he misses the actual physical contact, LOL.

Best of all, this way we can have our cake and eat it too - Amy doesn't have to leave the show, but we get rid of the boring "girl scenes" and reduce Amy's time on the show to those scenes which actually were the best about her - skyping with Sheldon. :icon_cheesygrin:
