Hmm, I think that Sheldon and Amy were at their cutest before they became a couple (late S4 and early S5). As of late, I've found Howard and Bernadette's interactions to be way more cute. I haven't found L/P cute since their early S3 dating episodes.

Yeah, pretty much, we are required to use our imaginations as to what happens AFTER they are out of our sight. For example, after Sheldon and Amy punk'd all their friends, using my imagination, I assume the rest of the characters eventually found out the real truth about it and I just leave it at that. I guess I'm part of the small bunch of people who couldn't care less if something has been explained. Sure, it would be fun to see certain things be explained but, not everything needs to be.

Yeah, I know there's a lot of throw-away stuff on this show that doesn't get followed up on. I was just wondering if anyone had mentioned it and I had missed it at some point.

Personally, I liked Leonard & Dr. Stephanie.

At what was the end of her story arc, Leonard said he was wrong about never having sex again, and left, as if he was going to be with her. That was left wide open & never followed up on.

So true. I actually like her a lot for Leonard. That was probably one instance during the entire series that I was bummed that it was not explained.

As Penny might say, BORRRRRING!

Don't know if it's boring or not. My significant other, who I introduced to TBBT at the mid-point of season three, commented after this season's premier on how the show has changed. I didn't watch Friends so I cannot speak to any similarites or differences, but there is no doubt that the show has transitioned into a straight up, romantic relationship based sitcom. There always was a relationship aspect on TBBT. But, early on it was limited to the L/P dynamic. Now, with the exception of Raj, everyone is in a relationship. Playing out these situations leaves little or no time for the quirky elements that made this show original and different. I would like to see more shows centering on the four guys and their lives and interests. Honestly, a show or two without any appearances from Amy or Bernadette would be pleasant change of pace. In fact, Penny wouldn't be missed either.

I am not anti-relationship. The continued development of the Shamy is something I look forward to watching. A functional, stable L/P is something I have long advocated for, or an end to the pathetic train wreck altogether. Leonard could then move on and Penny could move away. I'm hoping for something better for Howard and Bernadette than this continuation of will they live with his mother or not.

If you like romantic comedies then the current manifestation of TBBT should be to your liking. I do. So, it is. But that is not what this show started out as. It is not what this show was billed as. It is what it has become. I suppose if people had started out watching Cosby and it had transformed into The Simpsons there would be people that complained about the changes. No matter how high the ratings. Popularity does not render their dissatisfaction unimportant, or boring.

If one thinks about it, Dr. Stephanie was the perfect character type for someone like Leonard... She was insecure, needy, easy, and (being a Dr.) probably somewhat of a nerd herself. Exactly the type of girl that most geeky guys would end up with. Besides, Howard & Penny together is just too simplistic and far too Hollywood.

Anyway, I liked the show far better before it started transforming into the new Friends.

I was really just saying that the constant posting of "This show is turning into Friends!!!" or some variation on that theme is what's boring. People are certainly free to be frustrated or dissatisfied or whatever with any aspect of the show that strikes them.

It's the constant reiteration of the same oversimplified phrase that's boring. With a capital B.

I get it--I do. I know that there's less science-oriented or geek-oriented focus than there was before, but the guys are still who they are for the same reasons.

But if there's always going to be this disagreement over whether or not the show is better or worse for the new developments, I just wish the conflicting posts would be more substantial than that same lame phrase.

No argument with any of this... :icon_surprised:

Howard and Bernadette are the cutest, but thus far have been the least interesting and not particularly funny.

Sheldon and Amy are the most unpredictable and most interesting.

Penny and Leonard are mixed bag. I thought the writers did a fantastic job keeping the will they / won’t they saga going during the first 3 ½ seasons, but their later efforts were so disappointing that I lost interest in them. To me, the writers didn’t put nearly much thought into the story line, kind of came up with illogical haphazard reasons to keep Penny and Leonard vacillating, and even worse morphed both characters into something different.

I love Shenny! Sadly, it's impossible for Sheldon and Penny to have a romantic relationship to each other but I love their chemistry. I'm not against Shamy but I still prefer Shenny. Go team Shenny :icon_lol::icon_razz::icon_mrgreen:

Boo, your not a team player. Only Joking :icon_razz::) Go team Shamy! <3
