Evidence of Higgs Boson discovered

Recommended Posts

I know I saw that in a yahoo article when I got up today. That is GREAT! The only thing is that although it's confirmed it hasn't actually been sighted. Well of course they can't see something that small but they can only assume that it's definitely it.

Guest I'm not dead Cheryl

as a Physicist (astro-one) I'm really excited for this! :) I followed the annonuncement live and I can't wait to read more info as soon as it is released.

BUT my joy was ruined when looking at the slides they showed. As a former graphic design student I wonder

WHY WHY WHY WHY DID THEY HAVE TO USE THE COMIC SANS FONT!??????!!

It was awesome news footage of the announcement.

Seeing all the science doods getting excited :D

Also awesome to see how the Large Hadron Collider worked. Great stuff.

Sheldon would be proud.

I'm tipping the writers will feature this somewhere in an early episode next season.

I cannot but wonder wether they see the Boson because they want to see it...

I mean it would not be the first time result are read in a way that conform with the most recent theory. Scientists do this all the time.

Right way would be not to assume that it's a Higg's Boson. Because it could be anything! more test reasults needed, and more competitive theories about the new finds.
