... and she only let's him borrow them when they need them. :icon_biggrin:

Here's hoping these allusions she made to "being in love before, and it wasn't like this" will eventually erupt into some cathartic realization that the electric, exciting, lustful "love" she experienced before can't compare to the warmth and long suffering devotion Leonard has undeserving given her all these years. And hopefully she will realize this right into his arms.

Everyone lives happily ever after. .. somewhat repeating the end of season 1. lol

Please let this happen.

This is where I think the writers are heading and Penny will be heading for her epiphany later this season. If they don't do this they will have a great many viewers disliking Penny for hurting their little "puppy dog".

I hope that Leonard finds out that Penny is thinking about breaking up with him because he is too "boring" and decides that enough is enough and breaks up with her. Although she has seen it happen enough times, I don't think it has really sunk into Penny's consciousnesses that Leonard can find other girls who by any objective measure are as good if not better then her.

You are saying the same thing only in a nicer way. The bottom line is, we all want to see Leonard grow a Pair. Not only with Penny but Sheldon who has Leonard's other Nut in his pocket. Leonard represents the whipping boy that lets everyone dump on him.

The night Leonard suggested L&P 2.0, Penny already had his nuts locked tightly away when she said "WHAT IF I DO SOMETHING STUPID AND BREAK WITH YOU?" Leonard's come back of "WHAT IF I BREAK UP WITH YOU", was laugh off by Penny. It was at that movement I wanted Leonard to take charge and kick the Bitch out of bed.

I think people are focusing to much on Penny's faults and not Leonard's submissive personally, which is the real problem. Penny couldn't do that to the TYPE OF MAN SHE USUALLY DATES. We all like Leonard because he is EASY. And easy is his problem.

@rick---we could see that,(alex the graduate student

with sheldon. would pull a twist and go after leonard).

can we see penny's green monster come out than.:icon_frown:

Penny gets jeolous, then after the threat subsides, she goes back to her old ways:

- Leslie (her "date kissing" contest in the hall)

- Alicia (who she got into a fight with just for asking "how much does a physicist make?")

- Dr Plimpton (She was ticked because Leonard had to nerve to move on after she dumped him)

- Priya (she was on the verge of a nervous breakdown because this woman was so much better than her)

The question is, would she change her pattern this time?

My point is about Leonard needing to man up, WHY WOULD SHE CHANGE WHEN LEONARD IS HAPPY TO LET HER DUMP ON HIM?????

It takes two to tango and Penny wouldn't be disrespectful if Leonard didn't let her. It is part of Leonard's character and Penny is a Mother replacement for the Mother who never showed him any real affection.

Penny's character is far from perfect and she is a user and Parasite etc. I even started a thread about her being a slut. But I think people are missing the fact Leonard has as many if not more character flaws than Penny. But people seem to be over looking Leonard's flaws because he so easy and blaming Penny for everything.

Leonard is a classic passive-aggressive, that's why he destroyed Sheldon's research at the pole. He can't grow a 'pair' as that is who he is. he needs someone like Dr. Stephanie.

No Leonard, along with Raj and Howard "destroyed" (which they didn't") Sheldon's research in the Arctic because when the data was not proving his theory he started acting like a nutjob. He was so far off the wall that they actually discussed killing him. In a matter of speaking, Leonard saved Sheldon's life by coming up with an alternate plan, and they did save all of the real data so that it could be used later. The person who was way out of line there was not Leonard but Sheldon.

If you compare the Leonard in season one with the Leonard of the last season, he is becoming more assertive and his self confidence is growing. He has started standing up to Sheldon and his over the top demands. I think that this season he will more or less tell Penny that enough is enough and that if she can't or won't love him he is going to stop wasting his time and find someone who will.

Perhaps the point the writers are making is that both Leonard and Penny BOTH need to change - Leonard to be more assertive, Penny to value what she has. I would like to see that, and to see their relationship as the catalyst that brings about positive change for both of them.

Leonard most definitely has plenty of character flaws though why he still has some of them does not make sense anymore. Never has a character seem to regress in his knowledge of women after being so sexually successful as Leonard has been. What missing relationship link causes him to not be able to read Penny after 5 years of friendship and countless carnal experiences?

Yes, I know, they make Leonard this way to avoid having him being long gone after his many rides in PennyLand. Any other normal man would have said "thanks, it's been fun" and moved on to a more serious and rewarding relationship which he gets plenty of chances to do. The writers conceit is that Leonard still thinks of himself as some virginal loser and all his friends see him that way despite all the evidence to the contrary.

I'm one of those optimist who believes that this is what will happen in season six. They have made their relationship so screwed up that they are not recognisable as possiblily real human beings.

In Season 6.I would love to see Leonard with same new.I would make her a Experimental Physicist. She would really nice and very hot.She would look like Penny.I would make her a Sci-Fi fan.

I would have Leonard say to Penny I'm really happy and she the one.

At first, I wasn't supportive between the relationship of penny and leonard but as I watch the big bang theory I realize that they truly love each other but they are too afraid to express it because it might damage their relationship. I was team shenny before, but I realize that penny and sheldon are not good to be lovers. Yes they have some chemistry but not romantically. Their relationship is funny because they are opposite to each other and they have some misunderstandings but we can see that they truly care for each other. I wouldn't say that Penny doesn't care about Leonard. She truly cares for him and I know that he really loves leonard but she just want to take things slow. I think that the two of them are good for each other. They were able to mature and learn to take risk.

I think that Leonard and Penny will and should end up together, but I do think that keeping them apart is getting harder and harder for the writers to continue with.

I do think that they'll ultimately end up together since that's how the show began, and I do think that they really are good for each other.

While the writers have created a lot of conflict by sort of keeping them from being on the same page at the same time, I think that the characters really do compliment each other.

I don't think that Penny really thinks that she's too good for Leonard, I just think that she is hesitant to commit to it--maybe in some ways she's a little like Howard was when he first started dating Bernadette, always thinking that some ideal person might still be out there.

I think that Penny is more compassionate about Leonard's nerdiness than some of the other women he has dated--like Dr Stephanie, who put him in itchy pants and that bird sweater, essentially moved in with him, moved all this stuff around, etc., and Priya, who insisted that he get contacts, changed the way he dressed, and yet still wouldn't really commit to him, using him as more of a boy-toy, unable to stand up to her parents about their relationship, etc., then going back to India without him.

I think Penny's only real hesitation is about the fear of commitment. But she clearly loves him for who he is, though she's still trying to admit that to herself.

I think that her drinking and all that is just part of the comedic pattern, much like Raj and his drinking to be able to talk to women, then getting drunk and messing it up by doing or saying something inappropriate.

But under it all, whenever she's objected to other women, it has always been for Leonard's sake primarily, not wanting other women to use him or take advantage of him. With Dr Stephanie and Priya, she didn't really object to their relationships, and was mostly amused at the changes the women were imposing on him, except that with Priya she was somewhat put off by Priya's possessiveness. I think she was also encouraged to dislike Priya by Amy and Bernadette, and I think that she rightly felt that Priya kind of looked down on her a bit.

Anyway, what it all boils down to is Penny finally maturing a bit in how she see's herself, her life, her career (and I really do hope they give her a little more success in her acting career), and mostly in how she sees Leonard. I think she really does like him as a person and has really adapted to the nerd aspect of all of the guys and has even learned a bit about it herself.

I think the delay has mostly been because the writers have used it to maintain the conflict and draw out the resolution, not to imply that there's something wrong with the two of them having a relationship.

THANK YOU

I am so tired of reading how bad Penny is when it is Leonard who needs a set of Balls. I so glad someone finally stepped up an pointed out how loving & Carring Penny actually is. She totally excepts Leonard for who he is. Penny changed for Leonard by Learning Star Wars Etc. Leonard never really learned Football, Jogging, or Clubbing and Dancing that Penny would of loved to do.

Penny did try to change Leonard, she just failed at it. I remember an episode where she was upset because Priya got Leonard to buy new clothes and wear contacts. She was upset because she tried and failed. She watches a few shows and quotes a few lines and all of a sudden she is kind and caring? With all of the mooching and playing the parasite for meals, wifi, and getting her computer fixed it is the least that she can do. Big deal. Someone who more or less tells you that it is unrealistic to even think that you might be the one who instigates a breakup is more or less telling you that you are her doormat. She has also voiced that opinion to Bernadette and Amy. No way would Leonard ever do anything to hurt her, and she is not saying that because she believes that he is such a sweetheart, she is saying that because she thinks that Leonard is lucky to hook up with someone as hot as her. Then there is the hysterical fits she throws when Leonard tells her that he loves her. If she doesn't feel the same then she needs to breakup with Leonard and stay away from him. But then she would have to start paying for her own meals wouldn't she? Or the wifi. I sincerely hope that Leonard finds someone more suited to him, tells Penny it's over, and tells her that it would be "uncomfortable" if she herself at his apartment again. In other words, bye and don't let door hit you in the a$$ on your way out.

What I find hilarious is that whenever Leonard does show some gumption he gets accused of being a jerk or an a--hole. When he doesn't or he's simply in a state of chillax(which is what he is most of the time and has been for at least the last couple of years on the show)he's accused of being a pushover.

Just look at the idea of a beta-test. Season 1-3 and even arguably season 4 Leonard would never have suggested the idea to Penny, little alone produce a list of things that she did that he didn't like and that he felt she needed to work on. It was guaranteed to comically back-fired on him for sure(as she produced her own list)but that took some balls to suggest and do it nonetheless.

I agree with those who postulate that the biggest problem with Leonard and Penny is that it's still too one sided. The relationship seems to mean much more to Leonard than it does to her and until that is remedied, I think the relationship will continued to cause a lot a chaffing to many.

Whether this gets fixed in season six we have yet to see. Although the spoilers we do have so far suggest he's being even more proactive on trying to discuss their issues and make it work, even it potentially means rocking the boat. I real pushover wouldn't do anything and keep their silence.

When she first started joining them for meals it was before she and Leonard were dating. She was invited by Leonard, I assume, as she was in the pilot, because he wanted to strike up a friendship which he hoped would lead to something more. I'm sure that's also why he always gives her the wifi password whenever Sheldon changes it.

At this point she is one of the gang where all of that is concerned, and through part of that time she was over there because she was always strapped for cash--and because they are all friends.

As for all the talk about who would or would not institute a breakup, I think it's pretty clear that if they were together, it would never be Leonard who would choose to break up with her because he wants the relationship. But that doesn't mean that he's not above trying to claim that he didn't get dumped--by Joyce Kim or by Penny.

It's a typical way of trying to protect one's bruised ego. But Penny's right--there's no way he would ever be the one to dump her.

Although Penny says that she wasn't able to get Leonard out of the hoodies or whatever, I don't think she cared that much about it. I think she was more willing to accept him the way he was, or at least put up with it, than the other girls were. She was willing to embrace the nerd, even though she did help him get past some of the nerdier extremes. And in exchange, she herself became a little more adept at speaking the nerd language along with them.

I think she does have great understanding and care for these guys otherwise she would have left them in the nerdy state in which she found them and would have just gone on to date other guys.

Getting 1 or 2 free meals because the guy next door invited you over is one thing. To make it a routine thing is another. At one time it came out that she owed Leonard around $1,500 and offered to sell Howard and Raj her underwear. She got upset about the hot girl that moved upstairs because the girl was doing the exact same thing that Penny was doing. Taking advantage of the guys by using her looks. Penny is a parasite. Plain and simple. From the spoilers for the upcoming year it sounds as though she is going to break up with Leonard again because she is bored with him. He deserves better. I hope he finds someone who loves him, is more then willing to say so, and wants to be with him not because of the free meals and other benefits that she can get out of it, but because she loves him for himself. As for Penny, I hope she get's what she deserves. Maybe hooking up with her old boyfriend that cheated on her at the beginning of the show.

I think Penny/Leonard is fairly simple. Leonard loves Penny, unquestionably. Penny loves everything about Leonard, since he is the only decent guy she ever dated, except one thing. She isn't sexually attracted to him and is still young enough to have that eat away at her. If she commits to him and says, "I love you," then she is giving up on the inner hope that she can find a, "Kurt," who will act like Leonard. That is what feels different for her. Her affection for him is not linked to lust, so it doesn't feel like love, as she has experienced it. That is what I get from the way the writers have done this so far. Either they need to have Penny grow up and learn that lust will wane, but mutual respect and admiration wax, building a better long term relationship or break them up and have Penny back to having other boyfriends and Leonard move on. Their relationship, as they are currently writing it, has no comedic value at all.

If that is the case then she needs to break up with Leonard and cut off all contact. It sounds as though she is "settling" for Leonard and wants someone better. If that is so then their relationship is doomed to eventual failure and neither one of them will be happy. Leonard deserves someone who loves him and thinks that he is great just the way he is, just as Penny should have someone who she doesn't feel is somehow lacking.

Personally I don't want to see another break-up for L\P.. but God forbid if the writers continue this on again/off again crap.. then I would like to see Leonard breaking up with Penny not the other way around so that she could come to her senses.. and this will be huge character growth for leonard..... but if penny breaks up with leonard again and they get back together again(which we all know is the end game) then I would probably lose all respect for leonard's character
