Season 6 spoilers

I can't remember the details, but in Garden State, Jim played a guy who worked at a place like that.  I think I remember him wearing a knight's outfit as a work uniform.

That's right!  (And apparently he spoke Klingon...) :D

does "being hot" then equal being "better" then? Sorry, but I HATE that argument, saying that Sheldon could "do better" only because Amy is not "hot enough?". Because that's what you're saying.   Is

I think that part of the problem with how Penny has been written is that they have wanted to keep them from getting too serious too fast, since they have been the primary couple from the pilot onward.

Aw, thanks, Pom.  I came up with this analogy all by myself many years ago. :)

You know, I've been eager to see the next script cover and all that, so I was poking around Bill Prady's twitter page and he recently posted something about looking for an article he'd seen before that had something to do with a behind-the-scenes look at Medieval Times and how some of the performers took it too seriously.

Makes one wonder... ;)

I saw that and I was wondering the same thing. I remember when he asked on twitter "Star Trek Next Gen episode with a stranded landed party?" around the time he was writing  Bakersfield Expedition. Hmmm.

Yeah, the food is kind of blah, but the show is entertaining. I think you have to go into it wanting and expecting to enjoy it. If you think it's lame before you even walk in the door, you will not have a good time. All about attitude, IMO.

I must be the only one it seems that doesnt ship Penny and Leonard. This show is a comedy show first and foremost and P/L together just isnt funny i find it kinda boring and ruining the show.

I agree L/P is dragging the show down in my opinion, there is absolutely no chemistry between them.

I used to be a fan of L/P, but after Penny made her "boring kind of love" comment, I've found it hard to get enthused about their relationship progressing. The writers need to show us that they are not simply settling for each other.

One thing I've noticed is that the reports don't always match up with the episodes. This is not the fault of the people reporting them, but because unless you're Sheldon or happen to have snuck a recording device into the taping, people make natural mistakes. Some times people take these inadvertent  errors and base their opinions on them.

For instance for episode 12 "The Egg Salad Equivalency" KYZZX wrote:

"I also liked that Sheldon was a definite badass. He pretty much saved his friends from being in trouble with HR at the end."

I don't know where that came from because Sheldon (and presumably the others) had to take online sexual harassment seminar. This is even stranger because KYZZX wrote the report in the first place. My conclusion is that people are putting their own spin on the facts (ie. KYZZX likes Sheldon so Sheldon saved the day). I'm not saying this was done on purpose or to be deceptive. I only mention it because so many people make the reports the basis of their feelings about the episode before hand and afterwords there's no analysis of what really happened.

Sorry about the rant. I've been watching old episodes and one thing led to another. I hope I didn't offend anyone, that wasn't my intent.

What's also strange about it is that it was Sheldon who got all of them into trouble in the first place. The least he could do was find a way to mitigate the damage he caused.

Even from this point of view, L/P is funny as love relations of opposites. Likely if Penny was a scientist like Leonard, it would have been less amusing and exciting.

Actually, Penny was not bored at all in E5 in Leonard's lab and later. Also Penny seems to be quite alive in E3 and E12, which is already an improvement along with ILY in E8.

I remember that someone on another thread took the idea that Sheldon was helping the others as a sign of how Sheldon was unappreciated  for all the things he does for the guys (and how great Sheldon was).

They didn't even consider the possibility that Sheldon was just trying to muddy the waters by claiming that he was offended by the human resources person.

While I agree that Penny doesn't seem as enthusiastic as in season three I think that's because in season three we saw them together a lot more. Now, it's mostly in the hall, on the stairs and eating/putting away dishes, or about to have sex. They never seem to just hang out together. Clearly Leonard and Penny aren't 'settling' for each other there's a difference between a new relationship (season three) and a long standing one (season six).  People fall in and out 'of love' the real test of whether people love each other in the long term is if they can put up with each other during the low periods, and all relationships have them (last part of season three to middle of season five).

In my opinion, their relations are looking much more solid (and equal) in S6, although I agree with your last sentense.

We've seen them chatting in Penny's apartment a couple of times.

Yeah, but while eating, having tea or washing/putting away dishes. It's not surprising, in season three there was no Shamy or Howdette, and their time has to come out of somewhere. So most of the Leonard & Penny alone time is off screen, and as a result they don't look as involved as they no doubt are. You'll notice we don't see that much of the ladies spending time together either (I'm sure they still get together to complain about their guys, if for no other reason).

Desert Fox, you are saying, since there have been more characters and romantic involvements that the time for the L/P realationship has been cut and that makes their relationship seem less intense.  I haven't thought about that, and it is logical reasoning, that is something to think about.
