Season 6 spoilers

We were talking about that in the other thread. From what we know about the sides/spoilers for that ep, one story is about Raj and Lucy and the other one about Leonard having the career crisis after going to the school to talk to the kids, so I was wondering whether the "Contractual Obligation" might refer to the fact that the university makes the guys go to the school to talk to the kids as part of their job or something. I'd find it weird to have another episode about the Roommate Agreement, and I doubt it's going to be a Shamy ep after so many in a row over sweeps.

Yes Spook, you are probably correct. But what have I missed, Leonard has a career crisis? I read the side where he tells the students that he wanted to be a break dancer growing up. Does it have to do with that? Sorry if this has already been on this thread and I missed it. :)

It was a spoiler floating around somewhere, I can't remember where I read it, it might be in here, I'm not sure. :s

I agree that the "Contractual Obligation" must refer to they guys being obligated to go and talk to the kids.  Isn't Sheldon there?  Why would Sheldon ever go and talk to kids if he weren't obligated to do so by the university. :p

It's funny to me when I see people referring to an episode as "filler".  I mean, I can understand if one is primarily interested in the relationships and how they progress, but IMO that doesn't make everything else "filler".

A funny look at the characters dealing with some situation--like Howard and his robot hand, or Sheldon and his hatred for Wil Wheaton--is as much a part of the show and the ongoing story of their lives as any romantic developments.

On the X-Files there were Mytharc eps and Monster-of-the-Week eps and some people were impatient with the MOTW episodes because they didn't move the mytharc forward and the mytharc seemed, to some, to be so much more important.

But among the MOTW eps were some of the best episodes they ever did.

While the romantic relationships have become fascinating and so many of us are eager to see how things develop, I feel that as long as the situation is funny and the characters are being themselves, or maybe experiencing something new, then it really can't be "filler".

While we individually may find one character or couple more interesting than the others, that doesn't mean that anything that doesn't feature that character is "filler"--it just means that it's not interesting to that particular individual viewer.

Anyway, mini-rant over. :)

I'm eager to find out what else goes on in Contractual Obligation--is the main story the Raj/Lucy story, or is the main story the stuff with the classroom visit?

I am guessing the main story is Raj/Lucy since they will be on a date and there were sides related to it to a character named Bert.   I get the feeling it will be the main story and the side story(s) involve everyone else. I  could see Amy/Bernie being at the school as well, talking to other classrooms, but if they are not there, I am curious how the girls will play into this episode.   So far we only know about Raj/Lucy (and Bert) and then the school scenes with the boys.   I would think the girls have some sort of story as well.

If TI was right and Mayim is talking to a classroom of middle schoolers as well, then it seems she and Bernie must be there. But then what about Penny?  There are still a lot of unknowns about the whole episode.   We also don't know what will come out from the conversations being held so it should be interesting to see what Monique has to say when she comes back tonight.

The spoiler I read is that Amy is meant to come to Sheldon's rescue to talk to these kids, so I'm not sure if she'll bring Bernie along or not. They don't work for Caltech so I don't think they'd be there to start with.

Maybe there are too many kids and he faints... :p

I do wonder how this will play out.

Oh I hope that is true.  That would be wonderful!   :icon_mrgreen:    I agree, it isn't likely she will bring Bernie.  I wonder what the story for Bernie and Penny will be then.   I would think they would be in the episode.

Watching the episode where Sheldon meets Amy's mother over Skype and I realized that Sheldon constantly calls "feelings" "hippie-dippy" because I think he really doesn't like having to face that he really does have feelings. :icon_lol:   He still does that and I think it is amusing.  It will be interesting when he finally does tell Amy ILY because his "hippie-dippy" phrase will be meaningless.  :icon_lol:

Since I'm new, this may have already been discussed. Why ???? can't Penny's commercial with Shatner be incorporated into the show? The guys would be so jealous...what a story line!

Oh I agree it'd make a great career move for penny, but it'd turn the entire show into a twenty minute commercial. I don't think any company wants to pay for 20 minutes of network prime time, not to mention trying to selling regular spots inside the show.

Thank you. My cold is interfering with my ability to think and I could not recall where it would be.

Poor thing!  Is it the same cold you had a few weeks ago or a different one?

Amy's bringing a TI?  What a coincidence, Mayim is a TI spokesperson.  My knee-jerk reaction to that was negative, but I must remember to trust the writers.  They consistently deliver.

Yes, but if she is bringing it to come to Sheldon's rescue....well it definitely sounds promising, yes? :icon_wink:
